Here is some info on Weiss:
bHe began his coaching career as assistant with the Buffalo Braves.
In 1980, Weiss joined the expansion Dallas Mavericks for six seasons as an assistant under Dick Motta.
Weiss spent two seasons as head coach for the Spurs. He had a 59-105 record and one playoff berth in 1988. One season as an assistant with the expansion Orlando Magic led to the head-coaching job with the Atlanta Hawks in 1990.
In three seasons as coach of the Hawks, Bob registered a record of 124-122 and led Atlanta to two playoff berths. On July 21, 1993, he was named head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers. He spent one year in L.A. before joining the Sonics.
He was liked by players but his record was poor (13-17.)
During his "winningest tenure," he took over for Mike Fratello and pretty much tread water. He wasn't known for any distinct style. Any others in the know on what he might bring to the table?
