Warriors don't pick up O'Bryant's option, he can go free next summer

The Warriors announced Wednesday they will not pick up their third-year option on 7-foot center Patrick O'Bryant's contract, making O'Bryant an unrestricted free agent next summer.

What is your take on this? I had a hunch that they wouldn't pick up his option.

Injury Updates (10/15)

-- The Baron Davis Watch has already begun.Davis had some knee soreness after playing 12 minutes in the opener and wasn't a big fan of the Stan Sheriff Center court. That prompted Nelson to rest him Thursday night and experiment with Jackson at point guard

A couple of our boys got dinged up, so I'll use this diary to collect any reports that come up. If you find any, post it in comments and I'll add it so all can see.

From Geoff Leopper of the SJ Mercury News:

Forwards Matt Barnes (left knee), Mickael Pietrus (strained back) and Lasme (sprained left ankle) were all walking well as the team got onto its charter jet back to the mainland Friday.

10/15 Injury Updates from SF Gate

A Warriors spokesman said guard Monta Ellis (sprained neck) has received medical clearance to play and that it is now up to Ellis to decide on his return date. Ellis, who experienced tingling in his arms after a scary collision with Wright in Hawaii, declined to answer questions. ... Andris Biedrins (sprained toe), Mickael Pietrus (strained back) and Stephane Lasme (sprained ankle) also did not play Sunday. Lasme is expected to miss at least a week.

Baron Davis ranking for MVP

16. Baron Davis (GSW): 20.1 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 8.1 APG - The only thing that can slow down Davis is injuries and for the past five seasons that has been the case. As he showed in the postseason, he should be mentioned with Nash, Arenas and Kidd for top point guard honors.

UPDATE!How do you become a ball boy or towel boy?

My little brother is a die hard warriors fan too and  he really wants to be one of those kids that wipes the sweat or buffs the floor.  How does he become
one of those kids? I tried looking on the warriors site and there is no information on how he could do it. I emailed GSW and they have not responded.  I emailed my season tix rep and he has not responded yet. Maybe someone here knows how? Thanks

Unhappy Nellie headed to Hawaii

http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/47970/20070909/unhappy_nellie_headed_home_to_hawaii/

Coach Don Nelson, profoundly unhappy with the way his contract negotiations are going, plans on flying home to Hawaii after having spent several weeks in the Bay Area hoping to cement reworked details for the two years remaining on his deal. No date for his return to the islands has been specified.

As a season ticket holder I am starting to get a little concerned.... What are your thoughts?   I like Keith Smart but is he ready? Can he handle Jax and BD?

Interesting Article on Baron ( Ingram: Baron Davis Holds Nothing Back)

New Jersey Nets forward Antoine Wright had already been shooting and running drills for three hours when Baron Davis made his entrance at Joe Abunassar's Impact Basketball in Las Vegas on Sunday. As Davis ran out on the court shooting wild and crazy air balls Wright was making his way to the trainer's table for some therapy and stretching. Nonetheless, Davis was using the presence of Wright as a motivator for himself.
