Can't say I am surprised. The more I heard of this the more incredulous I became; I work at a lesser university than Penn State and the one thing that will get you out the door immediately is sexual harassment. The fact that so many people failed to investigate, report, even ban the presence of a known, witnessed offender is absolutely astonishing. Catholic church v. 2 in the guise of PSU.
I grew up a Penn State fan before becoming a Bulldog through and through (and never looking back). Still, this saddens me terribly.
Interesting read about LD's monumental task in managing this group

The Hawks are my favorite NBA team, the only one whose blogs I read and follow, from the city that is my adopted home, yadda yadda yadda. But I have SUCH a hard time with some of these individual players and their professional "idiosyncrasies," I will call them. They will never win any damn thing until the team concept truly comes from the TOP of the roster.
Go Birdbrains!
Bibby's interesting debut with the Heat...
This is from the box score, now-- I didn't watch the game-- but I couldn't help but notice a funny thing that happened to the Heat on the way to a big win over the Magic this evening...
Crucial stretch of the game: Bibster enters with 2:36 left in the 3rd and Miami up 77-64. Amazingly, Jason Richardson immediately knocks down three 3s, then Arenas makes two more. Bibster misses two three point tries of his own and two free throws. Spoelstra finally takes him out, out of sheer embarrassment I have to believe, at the 7:00 mark of the 4th with the Heat now DOWN 87-82. That's right, in this 7 minute, 36 seconds stretch on the court between the 3rd and 4th, Bibster's plus/minus was MINUS 18.
Coincidence? Maybe , maybe not...you decide!
What up, Magic?
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5932861
So the Magic are going to trade Vinsanity, Gortat, and Pietrus to the Suns for Hedo, JRich, and Earl Clark...And Rashard Lewis to the Wiz for Agent Zero?
Can these trades by the Magic be real?
How do they get any better from any of this? Isn't their big issue, for about forever now, being able to drive the lane when the 3s don't fall? What, is Arenas going to be the guy that does that--and he's going to share the rock with Hedo, JRich, and Dwight?
Is he serious?
Would I be alone in being massively offended by Will Muschamp even allowing his name to be in the mix for the job of the school most responsible for denying his alma mater more championships, and then seeking to deny them more--much less actually taking the job? I mean, I know it's a job, but it's a rivalry, for crying out loud. He's going to lead THOSE GUYS into the WLOCP against US? How could he? How could anyone? Could any of you? I couldn't, I tell ya!
Breaking News: Apparently, Hawks Not Well-Coached
http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/hawks%27-offense-won%27t-cut-it-in-playoffs
Hoopinion linked this story first. Damning evidence of the need to get rid of Woodson, it would seem. Rosen all but yells from the rooftops that the Hawks are sloppy and poorly-coached in nearly all phases of the game. Sund has to see this same stuff, right? What in the world is happening next for this franchise--may lose their best player, can't get decent attendance, coach is holding the team back...I guess we better enjoy this moment while we've got it. Bring on Larry Brown, I say!
