Who do the Bears need to go get?
Guard? Corner? WR? Dhani Jones?
Hitman Harris lobbies for Steve Smith
I've always loved Steve Smith's game and he fits the Martzfense like a glove.
Smith's a crisp route runner. He'll fight anybody in his way, for the ball. And he's still got the speed.
I say yes! What say you WCG?

Urlacher is #49 in NFLN's Top 100
Urlacher is the second of four Bears voted in by the players.
First in was Lance Briggs at #92.
From here, I'm expecting to see Devin Hester & Julius Peppers to round out the four Bears voted in by their peers.
Briggs is First of Four Bears in NFLN's Top 100
Voted on by the players only. The selection of Briggs definitely shows the respect he gets league wide. And it's a good thing for the offensive players in the NFL. Because had he not been voted into the Top 100. Briggs' wrath would've been felt all season long...
On second thought, Briggs will probably still hurt some ball carriers this year.
Fantasy Football Championship Week
I may have to go ahead and apologize for the selfishness of this post. But the fact of the matter is, I'm in the Championship Game this week and I don't know who to start: Aaron Rodgers or Ben Roethlisberger
Scoring:
6pts for scoring TDs, 4pts for passing TDs, 1pt for every 20yds passed, 1pt for every 15yds rush or rec. -1pt. for ints. -1pt for fumbles lost
Please, everyone that plays Fantasy Football feel free to help me in the poll and also feel free to leave any comments you have about this fantasy season, your players, the disappointments, the surprises, etc...
And a big thanks to WCG!!!

And Dent's one of them. I don't know whether Richard Dent makes it to the Hall of Fame this year or not.
What I do know, is that its beyond ridiculous that he's not already wearing a yellow jacket.

Cowherd says "No Chance" to the Bears and 14 others
I'm a fan of Colin Cowherd, of ESPN Radio & Sports Nation
I listen nearly everyday. For me, he is right on with his opinion about 90 to 95 percent of the time (other than his opinions on movies & music, which is dead wrong about 95% of the time). Yesterday was one of those misses for Colin.
He stated that there were fourteen NFL teams that have no, I repeat, no chance to win the Super Bowl.
Those teams are:
Tampa Bay Bucs
Jacksonville Jags
San Fran. 49er's
Now, no chance to win the Super Bowl is harsh, but a fact for many of these teams.
Those with no chance would be: St. Louis, Tampa, Buffalo, Kansas City, Detroit and Oakland
I'll give everyone else a chance. Some teams not a good chance, but a chance.
In fact I think San Fran., Tenn., and Arizona can be playoff teams. Along with Chicago in particular, too much potential to write these teams off.
What do you think? Is Colin on or off? Am I on or off? Do you give the Bears a chance or no chance to win the big one this season?
Update: Colin spoke to Ken White (whom is a big odds maker in Vegas), on his show today. Colin had a list of four College Football teams and four NFL teams, that he felt Vegas missed badly on (early over, under on total wins).
Ken and Colin agreed on every team except the Bears. Whom are at an 8. Colin said he thought the Bears will win around five. Ken on the other hand, thought the Bears could win ten. And maybe more if the offense has a good year.
Revisiting the 09' Class
Now that the 2010 Draft is behind us, I wanted to take a look at the Bears 09' class of draftees and UDFAs.
I'm gonna break'em down into three categories:
Future is Bright (steady contributer and likely starter)
Future is Bench (ST contributer with occasional playing time)
Future isn't with Bears (won't be around longer than a season or two)
JA wasn't happy with the lack of adjustments
Here's what Jerry Angelo said in a one on one with Larry "The Team Player" Mayer. I found it quite interesting and a little refreshing. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=6246
How do you explain what happened to the Bears in Cincinnati?
I don’t want to take anything away from the Bengals because they are a very good offensive football team with a great receiver, a great quarterback and a running back who’s having a Pro Bowl year. But what really surprised me was that we weren’t able to make the needed adjustments in terms of slowing them down or stopping them. We let that go really throughout four quarters. We couldn’t slow them down and make some stops or even force them to settle for a field goal instead of a touchdown to keep us in the game where we could have some hope. That surprised me. I didn’t expect to see that.
The Good, The Bad and The Fugly
Here we go, we're 1- 0 would've been an ideal way to start the season, but I can't say that I'm surprised our Bears started the season at 0-1. It was a tough opponent, in a hostile environment. And the Bears just didn't get the job done. There was some good, some bad and some fugly...
The Good
D-line was down right nasty... Wale Ogun played one of the best games of his career. Ogunleye used an excellent combination of speed and power moves to dominate whatever blockers were assigned to him. Mark Anderson looked (shockingly) solid. I didn't notice him out of position once and he trailed plays with aggression. The DTs controlled there gaps to near perfection on run and pass plays. I gotta give some love to Rush Rod (Marinelli), to this point he's as good as advertised... and loved, loved, loved the chemistry between he and his Rush Men on the sideline.
I liked what I saw out of the safeties. Sure they weren't perfect, but seldom do you ever see a perfect game out of anyone. AA was defending the run and the pass with athleticism and attitude. And AA's football intelligence should only grow. Payne was wrapping up on his tackles with more consistency than I've seen from him in the past. Last but certainly not least was D. Manning. Was he making plays or what!!! ... never have I seen him show such a great combination of attitude and football IQ... I really thought he played great.
Big O plays are alive in Chicago! Last year the Bears were tied for 2nd to last in the league with one pass of 30 yds or more from scrimmage completed. The Bears had two last night courtesy of Knox, Hester and Cutler's arm. This, sadly.... is my only bright spot for the offense, but at least it's something to build on.
The Bad
The WR's decided to stop running, right when Cutler through the ball their way. Inexperience, nerves and possible poor preparation could all be blamed for that. This must be fixed soon if the Bears are serious about making the playoffs. Way to go, we cut Rideau!
O-line was turrible just turrible... they couldn't beat the Packers to the point of attack. They looked big (but not strong) and slow. I was actually relieved when Frank Omiyale got hurt just so that someone may get in there and do the job... but it just wasn't Omiyale, it was the entire line. I really hope this was just a case of lack of experience with each other. I'm optimistic they can gel.
Cutler was not good, but he did look better when those around him did their job... I'm just gonna leave it at that.
Vasher was awful, but that came as no surprise... I'm just gonna leave it at that, as well. A healthy Tillman and Bowman solve that problem.
The Packers obviously game planned for shutting down Forte and Olsen... the bad part is, Forte and Olsen are the Bears plan A. If Ron Turner and his players can't execute a plan B... we're in trouble.
The Fugly
Injuries - Brian Urlacher (according to reports) is out for the year. This is potentially devastating to a defense that was looking for a return to dominance. It can be very cliche to say, he can't be replaced . Unfortunately in this case, it's no cliche, he can't. That being said, it doesn't mean this D cannot be successful this year. The silver lining of this grey, is the Bears depth at LB. Nick Roach filled in nicely and Jamar Williams has been the coaches darling for years... good thing, because the near future doesn't look good for PT (Pisa Tinoisamoa). The Bears newly acquired SAM LB looks to be out a few weeks with a sprained PCL. Desmond Clark also went down, but it didn't look too serious... with depth of Gaines and K. Davis at TE, the Clark injury is a non- issue for me.
All of the above Bad and Ugly can be fixed through practice, sheer will and determination. The exception to that being the loss of Urlacher and Tinoisamoa in the same game... I think we have to look at free-agency to respectably fill the voids left by them.
Do you agree that most of the Bears problems can be fixed?
Do you agree that we should look to free agents for filling the needs at LB? Or maybe WR?

Oh NO, Mr. Mexico!
My first post.
I've been inspired to... as they say, "Do the Dam Thang". So here we go!
I was listening to "The Herd" on ESPN radio today. Colin (one of my favorites) Cowheard said that Michael Vick was seen at a strip club with (NBA Star) Allen Iverson. This is how Vick chose to spend his first night of freedom (his home confinement ending). Now it is certainly understandable (for anyone) to want to blow off some steam (loosely used). I've done it myself, as I'm sure a majority of us have. No big deal.
However, it's a big deal if Vick does it. Mike Vick has told us he was sorry.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2992890
He said he's found God.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,295056,00.html
Yuk, I just used Fox News as a source.
Anyway, I'm not saying "You can't say your sorry and then go to strip clubs".
And I'm not saying "You can't be a man of God and go to stripclubs at the same time".
What I am saying is "If Mike Vick has said all these things, it's a big deal"! If nothing else, it sends a message to the NFL (Goodell) and NFL owners (his pay check), that he still makes very poor decisions ( and has very bad judgement). Why was this a poor decision you may ask? And I'll answer... for you or me getting out of prison... it may be at the top of our list! Then think of if it were you, that has been in the public eye for the horrible things you've done. As well, all of the apologies and changes you've stated, that you've made, again publicly. O' btw, there are millions of dollars on the line and knowing there is NOWHERE you will go, were you won't be seen and reported on. Does that explain why it was such a poor decision?
If your an NFL owner considering Vick or maybe a Bears fan that was willing to give him a shot:
Is this the straw that broke the camels back?
Or is this a harmless night out , that should be viewed as such?
