I am a huge UNLV fan and that is what you will mostly find me commenting and posting about. I write about the Rebels for the Mountain West Connection.

I also have been a big fan of the Phoenix Suns and Indianapolis Colts for a while now and I am occassionally active regarding those teams.

I'm very interested in U.S. Soccer. I watch every match that I realistically can, but I honestly don't really follow them off the field.

Up until June of 2011, I never really had a favorite MLB team, but I've settled on the Colorado Rockies as a team to follow.

SEC votes to accept Texas A&M... With a condition

"It's official -- almost. An anticipated rubber-stamp vote by Southeastern Conference presidents to accept Texas A&M as a member turned into conditional approval late Tuesday night. In a statement released Wednesday morning, the league said it unanimously approve A&M's application but under the condition that the remaining Big 12 schools give their approval of the Aggies departure. The SEC release said it was assured in a Sept. 2 letter that all Big 12 schools condoned the A&M move. But then on Tuesday, the SEC found out one Big 12 school had withdrawn its approval, leaving the SEC to say the Aggies would be approved "upon receiving acceptable reconfirmation that the Big 12 and its members have reaffirmed the letter dated September 2, 2011."

Three star running back David Greene commits to UNLV

"The UNLV scholarship offer was Greene’s first, but he was being actively recruited by the likes of Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado, Mississippi, Rice and Texas A & M. You could easily argue UNLV received a gem of a recruit by making the first offer." The story also says that Hauck was able to sell Greene on the idea that UNLV will be in the upper half of the MWC in a few years.

USC Transfer Bryce Jones commits to UNLV Basketball

"USC transfer Bryce Jones, after two months of mulling his options, gave a commitment to Dave Rice and UNLV on Saturday, May 21, 2011. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard will sit out during the 2011-12 season per NCAA transfer rules, then suit up for the Rebels in 2012-13 as a redshirt sophomore." - Las Vegas Sun Jones is a big statement in terms of recruiting for UNLV, mainly because he was ranked 97th overall by Rivals when he was coming out of high school, but also because the Rebels were able to beat out the likes of San Diego State and Gonzaga, who were also heavily recruiting Jones. Another point that the article in the Las Vegas Sun brings up is that he will actually help in terms of future recruiting as well. "Jones is longtime friends with current Bishop Gorman star Shabazz Muhammad, who is regarded as one of the truly elite recruits in the 2012 senior crop. Along with being pursued by the likes of Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky and every other upper crust program in the country, UNLV is pushing hard and squarely in the hunt. "I'll be in touch with him," Jones said. "I'll try to get him to come join me."

Walker plans to serve a two-year LDS mission and enroll at the school in the fall of 2013. "We are excited to add Dantley to our program," Rice said. "He had a terrific high school career. It is well-documented that he is an explosive scorer, but what is equally impressive are his assist numbers. In addition to his offensive stats, he was part of a winning program at Lincoln County High School. We look forward to him being on our roster in two years after he serves his mission."
