2010 THE NEXT GENERATION
2010.....what do we do about 2010? I keep hearing that this team needs a proven veteran to get from the free agent class of this year or next......ask yourself a few questions:
#1. How is a free agent going to help this team?
#2. Is that free agent going to defer to Brandon for leadership of this team?
#3. What kind of player are we going to get out of free agency that will not only fit in but accept the role of limited minutes of an already deep, established rotation and bench? (I state it that way because I believe that the starting five that we have now is going to be that way for the next decade)
#4. Who is out there that fits our needs?
#5. Are we going to go after a Lebron type player? (Because if we do consider it all over if it isn't already)
#6. If it is going to be a sign and trade who goes and who stays....will this player deplete our talent pool?
#7. How are our players going to react to the incoming star or veteran?
#8. Will this help us win a championship?
#9. Will this player disturb our chemistry or help it?
#10. Is this player a quick fix or a long term answer?
How do we address these questions that KP has to face on a daily basis?

THE turning point and whats to come MANIFEST DYNASTY
Ladies and Gentleman, Sports fans, NBA fans and the obviously excited Blazer fans,
Where to begin....lets start four years ago when we were going through the seemingly unending jail sentence that Whittsit entrenched us rose colored blazer fans in.
Zach had just had another run in with the law and Nash passed on Chris Paul for Martell Webster....I remember sitting at a bar after work watching the debacle unfold.
Disappointed was not the word.....frustrated , humiliated, ashamed and pissed off to no end that our once great franchise had been dwindled down to a complete sports mockery.
Four years ago was THE turning point!! And none of us knew it. None of us could have guessed that by not drafting Chris Paul put us in the position we are in right now. With a combination of unbelievable brilliance (Paul Allen hiring Kevin Pritchard), the greatest single draft in modern history(L.A., Brandon and Sergio), unearthly luck in landing Oden and Fernandez and topping that off with the draft we just had is to say the least one of the more remarkable turnarounds in sports history!! Period!!
With that said, where are we today?
We easily have the youngest starting five in the league, if not NBA history, we have started out this season (which is easily the hardest start of a season I have ever seen) dominating the teams we should and beating the teams we can, we have the deepest bench in the league, we have 6 guys that are shooting 38% or better from 3pt. range, we have Brandon Roy, we have the best development coaching staff in the league, we have no question the best GM in the league, we have the richest owner in ALL sports, and we have the most rabid fans in the NBA!!!
(DEEP BREATH)....BREATHE MAN BREATHE
We are seeing not a team just going on a run but a force of nature that will consume an extremely talented league for the next decade! Just think about it for a moment.....once the Blazers take over in first place who is going to claim it from us and when? It will be ours for well....a decade if not longer. We have far too much talent for us not to. With Paul Allen's endless pockets, Kevin Pritchard's talent evaluation and Nate McMillan's development abilities I don't see this slipping away from us anytime soon. What this adds up to is the rest of the NBA hating us like the Celtics of the 60's......
I know I know....its soooo early and its sooooo presumptuous!!!! I've been thinking about this for awhile now and I can't hold it in any longer. This is happening before our very eyes.....the stars have aligned and THIS IS HAPPENING.....this is not circumstantial....THIS IS HAPPENING.... HERE AND NOW!!!!
What is happening?
MANIFEST DYNASTY!!!!
