Okay so we are 3 an 1 , and although I dont know if we are really that good ILL TAKE IT!!!! First why we are that good...............Percy .......this guy quite possibly is the most explosive player in the NFL. Adrian .....hmm..like I was saying Adrian, if you dont know hes superhuman by now jus nevermind. Mr. Ponder, hes taken a page out of Alex Smiths book this year, says ...........well ............everyone so let me jus remind you all it took Alex smith 5 years to get where it has taken CP jus 15 games (I think). Now Im not saying he doesnt have his flaws (throwing the ball downfield is as much his fault as anyones) but he hasnt turned it over an has looked good doing it. An finally the defense which is playing totally ridiculous football, an thats to say nothing of the way our offensive line is really starting to gell. Can you believe that our achilles heel last year ,ala our secondary an offensive line, may now be a strength. AOkay so that may be a stretch an the homer in me but ill take average with potentail anyday, especially in our secondary with the North. Anyway I said 8 an 8 at best I am officially changing my prediction to 10 an 6 ............GO VIKES!!

Ok before I go any further I wanna go on the record as being a believer in Ponder, I'm not gonna say hes our QBOTF , but i think hes a guy who can be Aikman like if the vikings can get a few "pieces in place" ( God did I just say that). But I also believe that Mr. Webb is equally capable of being a QB at least as much as ponder anyway at this point. I'm just really sick of hearing so many reasons why this guy cant play qb in this league so I thought its about time someone write why he can.

#1 OK so he hasnt started more than a couple games an teams dont have alot of film an havent gameplanned an bla bla bla................ The guy makes plays!!!! He is definitely a raw QB in every sense of the word but to say that Christan Ponder is going to be a better qb is a reach ( again i like ponder an definitely think he could be a great QB), an especially with the franchise going down for at least awhile he may be the best qb for the vikings for the foreseeable future. Ponder is "nifty" in the pocket an has some wheels but Joe might be the best athlete on the team! I don't know about you but defenses have looked scared shitless of this guy when hes running to the huddle don't lie to yourself. I know hes raw , not accurate an a run first guy but at times you can say the same or worse of ponder.

#2 The team believes that he can be the guy! There's definitely a certain spark this team gets when he is in the game ( see philly an Vick at the time, the best player in the NFL). Know Joe was suppose to be super raw at QB an basically a 1 dimensional player who didnt have enough experience to play in the NFL, but as a rookie you could argue he looked better than ponder an hes still new on the scene. The touch on that throw to Rudolph was as pretty as the beauty to Percy from ponder.

Well I could go on but I don't want to boxed as a Webb promoter cause I'm not, I just think that after that game against the skins for some reason this guy took it to another level enough for me to believe in him more than I have in the past. At least enough for me to sit here on Christmas to write this blog. If it were me I would definitely not announce a starter an have a good old fashioned QB controversy through training camp if for nothing else than to push young Ponder to be better. I hope my fellow viking followers will give me some feedback on my take an hope that AD gets well soon! ..................PACKERS STILL SUCK ...........SKOL VIKES!!!!

Okay so I have read a few hundred posts on this most excellent site in the last few months an I felt like it was time for me to chime in. First off I BLEED PURPLE !!!!!................like my father has for years so I guess I am what you would call "emotionally invested" in this team. I have seen the good (1998 an 2010 being the foremost in my memory) an the bad (THIS YEAR......Mike Tice , chili , an even though I don't dislike him a few Denny Years). I really feel like the Vikingsare in dire need of some serious changes starting at the top including GM (WHO THE HELL RUNS THIS TEAM !!!! TOA IS RIDICULOUS!!). So I thought it would be fun to see what us as vikes fans would do to change or mold the future of this franchise if we had the opportunity , so here's my thoughts an I hope to see many from my fellow Norsemen.

First off if we don't at least win 3 more games I think Frasier needs to go, he simply seems over his head during crucial times in these games...ala San Diego an especially Detroit an Tampa. Its not that I don't think hes capable it just might be the wrong time for him to have the reins....he needs more time an the vikes do not have that in this division , I believe we need to get a proven winner ( very hard to find i know ,even harder to bring to minny) I am in favor of the obvious choices like Gruden or Cower but what about Bilick an thats to say nothing of getting a good GM. There are also some good college coaches ( Chip Kelly ) that could make a jump to the next level an be successful. I know finding the right mix of coaching an management is really hard to find but if we go 2-14 or 3-13 folks this could be the worst team the vikes have ever had an I just think we are better than that, not playoff better but better.

Free agency.................. I think the vikes need to let go of winfield an shaincoe for sure. I really love both of these players but they both have had injury problems an are getting older, not to mention winfield is due around 7million an shank is a free agent whom has a great young prospect ready to start behind him. EJ an hutch have a case to be made for not resigning or in hutchs case just letting go ( if he wont renegotiate his contract). In the same sentence I could say there is a case to keep them both because who do we have to replace either? The answer is no one but what does it matter we are officially rebuilding people an we need to see what we got in the young fellas an cap money to sign the holes that will need filling in 2 years. In any regard I think the biggest hole we need to fill in free agency is cornerback. We got no one an jus when Mr. cook was starting to become a player to ...sigh..... Cortland Finneganwould be at the top of my list , hes a good physical corner who has attitude an would fit our system to a T. Beyond that maybe a reciever ( wallace , jackson, welker, bowe, jackson, colston, garcon) there are many young recievers out there who could impact this team dramatically, an Ziggy has nevver shyed away from a big name free agent ( Bart Favre).

Draft...............WE NEED A LEFT TACKLE!!!!!!............If I had to pick 1 position on this team that we need the most to me its no contest that we take a left tackle( which by looking at the remaining games an our record we will get 1 of the blue cip tackles in this draft). Its a no brainer with having a young QB, who at this rate may not even make it through the season the way he is getting pounded, an a running back named Peterson that this may be the fastest way to make this offense gel. If for some reason we dont get a top 5 pick an both tackles are gone (Kalil, an I still like martin) take the kid from LSU or the best reciever on the board. The rest of the draft load up on O Linemen an D-backs unless someone jumps out (Rudolph last year).

Ponder.............. I truly don't know if this guy is the future of this franchise but thus far I have seen nothing outside rookie mistakes that would say hes not. Lets be honest he may be starting for one of the 3 worst teams in the league, an maybe the worst offensive line. Even though we lost against the raiders he played good enough to get us back in that game without our best player an that should at least give us hope. Ponder has no receiver's (outside of harvin if you consider him a receiver), a horrible offensive line, an a coaching staff that has got simply out coached in at least 3 games. Again I don't know if hes the future for sure but I am willing to bet this kid has alot of football left in him, an for the record my gut tells me hes gonna be a very good qb some day.

So thats it for me in a nutshell , its my first post or blog or whatever on here so I hope someone reads it an gives me some feedback on my take an what my fellow vikes fans would do with this team.
