[Bumped and edited from the FanShots. I likely can't give more coherent thoughts for a while, but as a quick take:

A decent deal, because I love me some Brad Miller and really think he can complement Tyrus and Noah extremely well. Obviously dealing Gooden's contract means an Amare deal is all but toast, but that looks to be as much on Phoenix's side as the Bulls.

And, as a prerequisite for all Bulls personnel moves: this screws Ben Gordon. Any mention of the Kings saving money next season means that's what the Bulls are taking on. Hopefully they're not done. -ed.]

Big props to Gar Paxdorf or whoever managed to send off Noc.

Isola had the odd report: He said that his sources "inside the Knicks organization" have told him that they believe Amare has already been traded to an Eastern Conference team, but that it won't be announced until after the Allstar game so as not to mess things up with him being voted in as a West starter. His sources with the Knicks told him they believe the trade was with Miami or Chicago.

Sam Smith: He refutes Isola's sources and says that no trade has occurred. He went through a bunch of stuff about why the Bulls should or shouldn't do the trade. Here is his unique addition: He said the Suns have informed the Bulls that they have "a better offer from another Eastern Conference team" than what the Bulls are offering, but Sam doesn't know who the team is or what the offer is. He speculated this could be nothing more than a bargaining ploy.

Other Bulls Stuff: Smith said that regardless of what happens with Amare, the Bulls "will make a trade this month." He than said that he's certain that Hughes is on the move and that it is "very likely" that Nocioni will be traded as well. He was not stating these things as speculation.

Amare stuff is kinda bizarre. Other stuff sounds spectacular!

Looking back, isn't the Nocioni extension a giant mistake? You had a chance to be all set up for 2010. Now we're stuck with a non-athlete at an athletic position who, on his best days, is just a three-point shooting threat. I cant see anyone league-wide offering anything for him, and it's a problem. We have to get out from under that contract. Also, thoughts on "In Rainbows"? --Paul, Chicago

I go back and forth on the Nocioni extension. I don't think they grossly overpaid for him. Maybe a little but that's kind of nit-picky. I do agree while you have to love his effort and intensity he does offer some duplication, but I think that was in mind when the deal was done. And contrary to your belief, his contract isn't prohibitive to other teams and there is interest in him. If they make a significant trade this season, he certainly could be in it.

Another name to add to the list of QBs to consider, Mark Sanchez. There is a lot to like about him. Great arm, can make all the throws, etc. Only knocks on him I've seen seem to be: the ridiculous level of talent surrounding him @ USC(he certainly wont get that luxury if he comes here) and questions about his ability to read defenses. He might be too good to pass in the 2nd if he is still there, IMO. More pressing needs should be addressed in the 1st.

Though Bulls fans keep talking about guys like Chris Kaman, I think one guy you probably can get is the 76ers’ Samuel Dalembert. He's produced better lately, at least 13 rebounds in four of the last six games, though the 76ers have lost three straight. Dalembert was something of the inspiration for Tyson Chandler's contract as Chandler's representatives held out until they went a bit better than Dalembert given the similarity of their play. The 76ers have even used rookie Marreese Speights at more crucial times and in need of perimeter shooting, a Bulls strength, perhaps there is a deal to be made? Larry Hughes and Joakim Noah? Though would you want Dalembert's two years and $25 million after this season? But that's the kind of centers more likely available.

Seems like the anwser is no, it'd be pretty crappy to take his contract for 2010. But how bout instead of Hughes one of our longer contracts.

Not sure they'd trade Miller but not sure he is their PG of the past this year either. They gain some shooters & take on salary next year, but they'll have to spend on a PG anyways. We might have to sweetness this more.

This seems like a solid start

I'd want more to ditch Noah, but getting rid of Noc would be great.
