Gang Green Nation Haters gonna hate.

I used to love this site. I was always excited to read the new articles and see if anything happened or just read the discussions. But it has now lost almost all credibility to me. I feel like I'm reading a Mike Francesa blog or something like that. Yes, Sanchez shouldn't be the seventh highest paid quarterback in the league. I understand that. But when did this blog turn into an ANTI-Jets blog? I get that Tannenbaum has made some questionable decisions lately, but I no longer feel like I'm reading a Jets fan site when I come here.

Some much hatred toward Sanchez is ridiculous in my opinion. I know that the opinions posted are not necessarily the overall feeling of everyone, but basically everything being said now goes against the Jets. Sanchez had his most yards and touchdowns in a season where he had practically no receiver help, almost literally no offensive line help, and an idiotic offensive coordinator (again). Did he make bad decisions along the way? Yes. And everyone does. It's been three years and two have been great. Get over it. Stop crying in your cereal and wait to see what happens. Speaking of cereal, I just had Reese's, for breakfast!

Haters gonna hate.

Gang Green Nation Why are the Jets terrible at clock management?

First off, sorry bringbacktodd. I actually wanted to write this post last night but got lazy. I'm not trying to hijack anything.

Anyway, as the title states, why are the Jets terrible at clock management? It's a problem that has been obvious multiple games this season. Whether it be the end of the half or the end of the game, the Jets seem to frequently waste a lot of time. They are too slow getting the play in, and the players don't seem to look hurried at all when getting to the line and actually running the play.

One of the biggest problems I've had this season occurred yesterday in the fourth quarter. The Bears had a first down play with around 2:50 on the clock. I knew right there the Jets would call a timeout after that play. Sure enough, they did, even though there was 2:43 on the clock after the play. This made it possible for the Bears to run the clock to the two minute warning on the following play, which let them punt the ball with under 1:20 on the clock. Had the Jets been good at clock management, they would have seen that with 2:43 on the clock the Bears would have to run a play before the two minute warning, and they could have saved themselves at least 30 seconds by calling the timeout on the play after the two minute warning instead. This might seem like a small thing, but the reason I was bothered so much is the fact that they have addressed their clock management issues in the past (as in they admitted they had the problem) but seemingly did nothing to fix it.

Am I the only one who noticed this?

Gang Green Nation Is it really that big of a deal?

I'm not going to lie to you people. Clearly, based on my user name, I (at least used to) love Darrelle Revis. He is an amazing player, and I share the belief of many that he is a once in a generation type of talent. But that is the point of this article. If he really is once in a generation, which I think he is, then should Jets fans really be treating the holdout like it's some sort of apocalypse?

Revis is frequently compared to Deion Sanders, who hasn't played since 2005, and has been out of his prime for more than 10 years. But guess what? Somebody still won the Super Bowl EVERY year since then anyway, even without a Deion/Revis on their team.

What I'm trying to say is that the Jets can still win the Super Bowl even without him. It isn't a guaranteed Super Bowl season with him, and it won't be a guaranteed non-Super Bowl season without him. I obviously think they are a better team if he's there, but I think the defense is still loaded either way, and I think Antonio Cromartie, Kyle Wilson, and the rest of the secondary will be able to pick up most of the slack.

Kris Jenkins coming back will obviously help, and I think the pass rush will also improve. What we really need to worry about is the development of Mark Sanchez, a sentiment I share with many.

Gang Green Nation Cromartie's Ego?

So I am one of the many who are extremely happy with the trade that sent Antonio Cromartie to the Jets for a conditional 2011 3rd round pick. I think we can basically agree that it was a low risk acquisition.

Now here's my question: how will Cromartie take the idea of him NOT being the number one cornerback? I think any cornerback in the league should consider themselves lucky to have the opportunity to play alongside the best, a.k.a.  Revis, but we all know the players have egos. So what do you think, will being the number two corner have a negative impact on Cromartie's attitude? I don't think it should, but then again I don't know Cromartie personally so I'm really not sure. Thoughts?

Edit: Well everyone seems to think Cromartie wasn't even the best on his old team so I guess this is a non-issue, just as I was hoping. Just thought I'd ask.

Yes, he has a big ego, and it will bother him.

No, he will understand that Revis is the best in the business, and that this is a great opportunity for him.
