Track Em Tigers Dress Mexico in Auburn

Most of you can probably tell from my nickname here that I am a minister. I'm actually a youth minister in Oxford Alabama. Every year I take between 3 and 5 mission trips into Mexico. Something struck me last time I  was there. There was a three year old boy wearing an Alabama sweat shirt. With the mission groups being affiliated with people in the state of Alabama there is going to be Alabama shirts donated. Don't get me wrong, they aren't fans, I've only seen one Bama shirt there, and their football is round and can't be touched by hands except the goalie. But I jokingly told the kid that he was wearing the wrong shirt as us Auburn and Alabama fans do. The missionary with me said, "we give them what people give and that fits them."

So I thought to myself....we need to get Auburn represented in Mexico. So I'm asking anyone who might have some old Auburn clothes or hats (yes baseball caps are a big need in Mexico) to send them to me. I'd be very happy to accept them and I give you my word that all clothes given (except stinky wraggy clothing) will reach Mexico. It doesn't matter the sizes, but children sizes are probably the biggest need. I'll take shirts, sweat shirts (yes it does get cold in Mexico), caps, polos, sunglasses, jerseys, underarmour. I just ask that there are no clothes with cuss words or tanktops. Anything that one might be replacing, had their children grown out of, or that you want to purchase from your neighborhood thrift store. It doesn't matter if it's new or old, just wearable.

It's not a big deal. Just something fun to do and to surprise all the Bama fans and Texas and LSU fans that go on mission trips down there. If you would like to help and mail me the shirts, e-mail me at my username here (it's also at the bottom of this post) @yahoo.com and I can give you my church's address (I'd rather not give my actual address) and I'll get them where they're needed. There might not be one response to this, or there might be an overwhelming response. Either way I know I tried. Just something fun to do and to help out the less fortunate in Mexico.

I can't give anything in return for your participating in my small little "project." But that's not what it's about. It's about helping those in need who can't afford clothing....and while we're helping them out, we might as well make it AUBURN haha.

P.S. For any Bama lurkers or any other school affiliations, if you want to donate your teams colors I'd be more than happy. This serves a greater purpose than bragging rights. Just let me know :)

Thanks alot! Dios te bendiga! (God bless you!)

Track Em Tigers Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there today! It's Thanksgiving and also the day before the Iron Bowl. We all know there's a long shot in winning this year, but at least there is a shot this year. I'll actually be attending the Iron Bowl and am pretty excited about the experience again. Well I just wanted to post a Thanksgiving post to give everyone here who's willing to just say a thought or two of Thanksgiving. I'll start with mine.....Today is my Birthday by the way.

I'm thankful first off for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I'm thankful for a wonderful girlfriend who accepts my Auburn-ness. I'm thankful for a family who is split 3 Bammers and 2 Auburn fans. I'm thankful for Alabama because no matter how you cut it, they make every season - good or bad - interesting at the end. I'm thankful for being an American, a JSU graduate, a Minister, my church family, my dog Peedy, friends, a roof over my head, turkey in my stomach, Subway subs, Mountain Dew, and tickets to the Iron Bowl (50 yard line, lower level)

Feel free to share yours. Everyone is welcome to post.

Track Em Tigers Did Anyone See Auburn Football: Every Day?

Did anyone else watch Auburn's "reality" show Saturday morning? I did. I was just wondering what everyone else's opinion of it is. Positive or Negative. Do you think it is a good idea? Do you think they did a good job? Do you think it will be an asset to the recruiting process? Or is it just simply something for guys with the grass already cut on Saturday morning something to watch? What is your opinion? I'm sure we all would love to hear them. If you don't already have a SB-Nation account sign up and comment.

In my opinion, I really enjoyed watching it. There were a few things that I didn't like. One of them is the camera angles are always so narrow. There's over 100 guys out there at a time and we never got one big shot. They shot it in the widescreen format, you might as well use it. I'm not a director and never will be, but someone needs to show them Robert Rodriguez's 10 minute film school as he discusses the importance of camera angle and zoom.

I think it's really neat to show the ups and downs of camp. They showed the two players getting after it with each other. They showed the disappointment and leadership and positives of the QB race. And we also got to take a look at the guys going to the water park. They said coach Chizik doesn't have a sense of humor but he sure did take getting carried into the wave pool pretty well....he even said that he'll watch the tape and make whoever did that pay for it. You also learn that coach Trooper Taylor is great at what he does and is very likeable and enthusiastic.

As a biased Auburn fan I give the opening show a 7.5 out of 10. But I won't critique any other shows in the series. What do you think? Opinions are appreciated. You can catch it every Saturday morning in the state of Alabama. Check Auburn's official website for tv listings.

Track Em Tigers An "Auburn Man" - What is it?

Has anybody else noticed the whole "Auburn Man" thing going around? Right when Chizik was hired all I heard from those in charge was, "He is an Auburn Man." Now I hear coach talking about Eric Smith working his way to becoming an "Auburn Man" and achieving that is the only way Smith will ever walk on the field in an Auburn uniform again. So what makes an Auburn Man an Auburn Man? Does anybody know? Is it having a diploma that says "Auburn University" on it? Is it walking around without that false sense of entitlement that most bammers walk around with? Is Chizik more of an Auburn Man than Tuberville? Who gets to say, "Yes, you have achieved Auburn Man status" Is it Chizik? Jacobs? Lowder? Do Auburn Men get a cool blazer that's orange and black with tiger stripes? (that'd be AWESOME) So, I'm wondering what you guys think. What would YOU say makes what Chizik and Jacobs calls "An Auburn Man." Looking forward to hearing from you all!!!
