Give your A's shirt a loving home

Anyone have any Huston Street shirts in decent shape they'd be willing to relocate to a new home?  Put a little cash in your pocket, and make two girls very happy?

(Rich Harden and Milton Bradley Tshirts would also be adopted)

My girlfriend's birthday is coming up, eBay has been no help for months, and I'm getting desperate.  (This girl is so amazing, can I tell you?  That I gave up California for her.)

Trying to convert new fan, need 7/3 ticket

Anyone have any leads as to where I could get a bleacher ticket for the 7/3 game?

I've convinced a friend from work he needs to experience baseball, and in particular, A's baseball.  (He's from Argentina and has never been to a baseball game!)  I thought especially a Fireworks Night would seal the deal on his A's fandom (my first game at the Coliseum was a Fireworks Night and it convinced me to move halfway across the country).

So, anyway, I have a ticket for myself but need to get him one, now.  So I'm looking for one bleacher or two Plaza Reserved (in which case I'd give up my bleacher ticket).

Thanks in advance for any advice!

My First Summer In Oakland To Be

I haven't posted since October, after I visited the Coliseum for the first time and fell head over heels.  I've been sort of lurking -- because message boards tend to intimidate me a little, and because I tend to root with my heart rather than my head, which gets me into trouble and/or gets me made fun of sometimes.  ANYWAY.

I just wanted to follow up and say: WOOOOOOT.  I am indeed moving 1,000 miles -- from my beloved Cardinal Nation (yes that was me, standing outside Busch Stadium on 10/27/06, peeking in through a gap in the gate for the last game of the World Series, wondering once it was over how come I could see my breath because there's no way it could be that cold when I felt so alive) to the only other place I could stand to be during the summer (meaning, a place near my other baseball team). And this is the first time I'll be living closer than 3 hours to a ballpark in my life

I've reserved my moving van, and I'll be cutting it close but arriving just in time for the April 1st exhibition game.

So I've got my exhibition game tickets and my Opening Day tickets (first time ever I'll have seen a ballpark's opening day!  Busch being impossible to get into) ... and I may not know yet where I'm living or where I'll be working, but at least the important stuff is taken care of, right?

(I promise to figure the other stuff out before I arrive)

See you at the ballpark!

Falling in love with Oakland

I made my first visit to the Bay area a couple weekends ago (the home series vs. the Angels).  I was doing a couple things -- checking out a college, checking out the stadium, checking out the area.  All with a view towards whether I would want to live out there, because I've been in Missouri all my life and I'm ready for a change.  And if I'm going to move away from Busch Stadium?  It's going to have to be near another team I can get behind.  I've been an A's fan over a year, but still I wanted to check out the stadium, the fans, the atmosphere.  Just to be sure.

I got to the stadium on Friday the 22nd and was amazed at the energy.  The crowd was loud and proud and really into it.  (I'd been told not to expect too much)

I talked with the people around me & was struck by how at home I felt.  Usually at a baseball game, nothing can draw my attention away from the field itself and the players.  But in Oakland, I just kept looking around at the stadium, the fans, everything.  I was in love with it all.

And then at the end of the game, I found out we got to actually GO DOWN ON THE FIELD to watch the fireworks?  And I flipped.  Pretty much sealed the deal right there; I tumbled head over heels.

The rest of the weekend did not disappoint.  I had my first ballpark hot dog ever because the Coliseum sells veggie dogs.  (I took that as a sign).  I loved getting stopped by strangers on the subway who saw my A's attire, and being asked "Did we win today?"

On Sunday I saw the woman I'd sat beside on Friday, and she said "Welcome back!"  And I started crying then and there, because I knew I had to leave that day (had to leave the ballgame early, of all cruel things) and I missed it already.

I see BART schedules in my sleep now, and I daydream about Oakland.  And I am totally becoming a resident by Opening Day 2007.

2004 all-star game

Does anyone have a copy of the 2004 All-Star Game on tape that they would be willing to share?  I'd reimburse you for your time/equipment/etc of course.

If I shouldn't be posting this here, or if anyone has a better suggestion of where to post inquiries like this, let me know!

P.S. I'm flying 1800 miles to CA this weekend for my first visit to the Coliseum, and the butterflies have already started.
