A Big 12 official, meanwhile, confirmed that Louisville could be a target "once the Big 12 gets its house in order." He could not speak on the record because the league hasn’t officially decided on its next course of action.

Andy Katz apparently thinks UofL is leaving the Big East

1

or else he's just assuming for the sake of argument that all FBS schools are leaving. "If what's left of the Big East became a basketball-driven league," he writes, "it would still be a very attractive conference. Imagine if the league were Villanova, St. John's, Georgetown, Marquette, DePaul, Seton Hall, Providence, possibly Notre Dame, and then add Xavier, Butler, Saint Louis, Creighton and maybe Saint Joseph's or Temple."

Andrea Adelson on UofL's Big East title hopes

ESPN's new Big East blogger can't make up her mind. She gives three reasons why the Cards will, and three reasons why they won't, win the Big East this year. (This is what passes for objectivity in journalism today: argue both sides and provide no analysis or perspective.)

Tyler Gabbert visiting Louisville

Former Missouri quarterback Tyler Gabbert is visiting Louisville this weekend and is strongly considering transferring to the Cardinals, a source tells ESPN.com's Joe Schad.

Stop the scapegoating!

I'm extremely disappointed in the number of people playing the blame game. It was the referees' fault, it was Pitino's fault, it was Marra's fault, it was Siva's fault, it was stay-at-home fans'...

Pitino and TJ meet the press after ND game

Sorry, I don't see embed code for C-J videos. CRP says we were happy to win because we didn't play well but we overcame it. He said yes UConn will be playing their fifth game in five nights, but we are exhausted after this game. It will come down to who has heart. (We know who that is. Miles and miles of heart.)

Anybody watching St. Johns @ Seton Hall?

The Pirates have led most of the game and are currently up 70-68 with under four minutes to play.   If St. John's loses, I think we clinch the 3 seed and play the winner of the 6-11-14 matchup...

I am so farking pissed off! The farking Pitt game is not on farking TV in farking Richmond, Virginia because the farking CBS affiliate is farking preempting it for a farking ACC game. I don't give a farking rat's ass about farking NC State versus Georgia farking Tech. This is the biggest farking game of the Big East season and I'm not gonna farking be able to farking watch it because of this farking bullshit. Fark you, WTVR.

So what will happen to the Cards in the polls this week?

We took #8/7 Notre Dame to OT in their house, and were tantalizingly close to beating them in regulation; then we came home and beat #12/13 Syracuse. We covered the spread in both games, another...

Pitino thinking small after rebounding debacle

3

The University of Louisville's lack of rebounding in Tuesday's 52-46 loss to Drexel has coach Rick Pitino considering a lineup change where going smaller may actually help them play taller. One option Pitino is debating using would place Chris Smith at small forward and make Kyle Kuric an undersized power forward. Smith and Kuric worked wonders in the same lineup against UNLV. They combined for 11 rebounds, and Pitino said it made their offense better with spacing and passing.

Berry Tramel: Big XII should add BYU, Louisville

I want some of what this guy is smoking. The Big XII would be a football upgrade for the Cards, but a huge drop in roundball. The Big East, its BCS standing enhanced with the addition of TCU, is the place for Louisville.

You know, the kind you play with your feet. Louisvlle's undefeated soccer team is #1 in the NSCAA coaches' poll - which was expected after last week's #1 Akron was upset by Cleveland State. The Cards were already number one in the Top Drawer poll.
