still giddy over the cowboys win, i spent the day reading cowboy fan comments on their blog page...very entertaining stuff. what great start to 2009!

http://cowboysblog.dallasnews.com/archives/2009/01/does-tony-romo-need-to-change-his-tune.html

reading cowboy fan comments, i now realize how crass and rude eagle fans really are compared to our texan counterparts who are oh-so-gentle and classy.... NOT!

Thank you jerry jones for signing TO, pacman, tank johnson etc. GO eagles!

Adarius Bowman?

According to rotoworld, Adarius Bowman (yes that 6'4" 220 WR from OSU) has signed with the Eagles - the link is http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=4660

Unfortunately, he pleaded guilt to weed possession and was given a delayed sentence of 12 months in jail. I'm not sure how this works but if he makes the team, can he serve his term in 3 installments for 4 years? Maybe Joe Banner can send the judge a fruit basket for a reduced sentence or something...

If he really applies himself during camp and realizes his potential, we may have found a real gem here. This guy was considered a top 15 pick before the season and even a potential Heisman candidate. I don't like the way he catches (relies on his body too much instead of his hands) but is very physical and plays fast with pads.

it looks like andy's going to try to package his 6/7 picks and try to move up to 3/4 rounds. i can't picture holding onto all those picks. any thoughts on possible picks?

dajuan morgan seems to be a logical choice here but he'll probably gone by the 80th pick unless the eagles move up.

interesting CB/S prospects like jake ikegwonu, tom zbikowski, reggie smith are still available.

we need more depth at OL but i don't know much about the guys that are available and most of the top prospects are already gone, so we'll see

What do you think of Eddie Royal from VT

I want a big fast receiver like everyone else on this board, but reality is that even if we get a Sweed, Kelly or Hardy, they won't contribute much during their rookie season due to the complexity of Andy Reid's offense. Since this may be McNabb's last year, I'm not sure this makes any practical sense.

This is why I'm not totally against drafting an OL or S, even a CB with the first pick. One the same token, I'm intrigued by Eddie Royal, WR from Virginia Tech. He may be the most dynamic returner in the draft after Jackson and was a good receiver as well at VT. Rivals.com ranks him at 60 so if he's on the board for our 3rd round pick, I hope the Eagles jump on him like Tommy Lee on a supermodel. Any thoughts?
