The ESPN Rage Thread
Now with all the news of Brandon retiring all over Blazerland and curiously nowhere on ESPN, I thought this would be a great place for all those disillusioned currently with the worldwide leader in sports to come here and vent. Now why I am annoyed with them right now is because they are overanalyzing the Paul situation. They are currently interviewing the Hornets GM seemingly for no reason at all. Seems like to me that all that ESPN cares about is the Lakers getting shafted.
Looks like the Niners D collectively will set a record soon..
Right now, the Niners are four games away from becoming the first team in league history to not allow a rushing touchdown in a 16-game season, according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee. The record for fewest rushing touchdowns allowed in a 16-game season is four.
What's everybody think of this? I think the 49ers can force their playoff opponents into becoming one dimensional if they set the record. If nobody in 16 games is able to establish a running game, why should anybody be able to in the playoffs?
Canzano - Lakers won't admit it, but Blazers beat them up
http://www.oregonlive.com/sports/oregonian/john_canzano/index.ssf/2011/04/canzano_lakers_wont_admit_it_b.html
The evidence was all over the visiting locker room at the Rose Garden on Friday night. Medical tape strewn on the floor. A bucket filled with ice water at the foot of Kobe Bryant's locker. A doctor, latex gloves on, applying ointment to Lamar Odom's floor burns.
The Lakers looked beat.
Pau Gasol dressed, then explained, "We have work to do." Coach Phil Jackson said, "I can't explain why we were lazy or didn't get back on defense." One of the veteran Lakers, still in the showers, dropped an expletive that rattled through the room. And a few feet away, Ron Artest slipped on a pair of brown shoes and called to the team trainer, "I need a bag of ice for the plane."
Don't know if this has been posted, but here's some rookie notes
From Chad Buchanan via the Blazers twitter (pdxtrailblazers)
From Chad "Armon Johnson is a 'junk yard dog' type of point guard... Nate sees a little of himself in Armon."
(Good. We need a nasty defender like Pendergraph who isn't afraid to take fouls and knock people around)
From Chad "Elliot Williams absolute freak athlete. Stand-still vert (good jump is low 30's) Elliot jumped 38"... high character guy."
(38 Inches?! I think he may be the first man to dunk next year for us..)
From Chad "Luke Babbitt, left handed scorer. You'll see some Outlaw the way he scores the ball... once signed he wanted to get in the gym."
(I hope that doesn't mean he's ice-cold until the 4th quarter..)

Pippen is a hall of famer!
Just thought I'd mention that Scottie Pippen has been nominated to the 2010 Basketball Hall of Fame. Since he is a former Blazer and an incredible player (The next Nic Batum, I'm telling you) I thought it'd be appropriate to give him a shoutout!
CONGRATS SCOTTIE! It's about time you got in! (By the way he got in on his first try.)
Leave your congratulations or awesome Scottie Pippen stories or gratuitious comparisons to Nic Batum (preferrably the comparisons) here.
All Time Blazer Roster
Can only be 2 deep at every position. One starter, one sub. WHO YA GOT?
PG: Brandon Roy, Clyde Drexler
SG: Buck Williams, Jerryd Bayless
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge, Maurice Lucas
SF: Nicolas Batum, Terry Porter
C: Arvydas Sabonis, Bill Walton
COACH: Dr. Jack Ramsay
AST. COACH: Nate McMillan
I'm not sure whether this should be in the junk drawer or not but there you go. Can you imagine the defensive intensity with McMillan AND Ramsay coaching? Teams would be lucky to score 70 on us. And Batum and Drexler playing together would be an absolute joy to watch.
Which songs fit which Blazers? ((JD 1/31))
I just figured this would be a fun little thread designed to check out our musical tastes and more importantly, which songs fit our favorite Blazers.
I will start.
Brandon Roy: KRS One - Step Into A World
Greg Oden: Godzilla Theme
Juwan Howard: Sweet Georgia Brown (LOL)
Andre Miller: Beastie Boys - Whatcha Want
LaMarcus Aldridge: Beanie Sigel feat. Jaheim - The Truth (Ironside Remix)
Rudy Fernandez: Chingon - Malaguena Salerosa
Nate McMillan: Local H - That's What They All Say
