This is a great team!
Maybe last week, we were lookin ahead, but this week our guys were ready to lay the wood. They were there from snap one. Coach is right for lookin at one game (assighnment ) at a time since FL had this game circlled since last year.
We litterally made a great coachging staff and an incredibly gifted team look like chit.
We all know this team is a work in progress , but to improve on tonites progress will be hard to beat. I'm suire the missed asighnmrnts will be pointed out later in the week but for now I'd like to point out that.........................
WE ARE WHO THEY THOUGHT WE ARE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Texas to the SEC ?
BON has a great article up about the possibilities of Texas and others moving from the Big 12 to either the Big 10 or PAC 10 or SEC and ifs ands or whys they could or should move to either. It has links to the facts of acedemics, financial, SEC Slive quotes. Very in depth and Very informative on the possibilities of expansion. It's very long but as good of a read as I've seen on the subject.
I'm not a big SEC expansion of the SEC fan but it may be inevitable. I think it was Deaux that came here and dis'd our acedimcs but this post pretty much put his beliefs in perspective.
Kinda wanted to see what ya'll thought about the article.
Didn't totally clarify; Burnt Orange Nation
Great to be a Tide Fan
I was driving the other day while listening to ESPN radio. They were discussing the whole Tennessee debacle. That is one big mess. No coach(since been filled),ass, coaches that have to be paid, few choices for new coaches, and little time to hire one with signing day just around the corner. I'm thinking, man I'm glad this isn't us. That really got me to thinking about the Tide in past years.
Texas, the best team with McCoy ?
Well,is Texas a better team than Alabama with Colt McCoy in the line-up.
I haven't posted my opinion on BON because I'm not looking for a fight. I do want to post it here because it's driving me nuts that I'm told my team is not the better team even though the scored said othrewise. Before the game the Horn's fans were bragging of the best defense in the land And their offense would put up plenty of points while shutting our offense down( granted this is only 50% of the fans I'd encountered, but 50% of Texas is a lot).
We went into the game with 85 darn good players and some of those are Great Players and we'll see them on Sunday in the future. Our QB might not have had McCoy-esque numbers in this first year of starting but most of the time found a way to win. Our offensive line lost some key guys last year but the new guys stepped up to the plate. I think Ingram only started one game last year in the absence of an injured Coffee only to be aHeisman Trophy winning back this year.
I say this to make a point. We played togeher as a team. When we lost Hitower, other players stepped up. When McElroy had a horriffic game (SC) Ingram stepped up. When Ingram had a really bad game(AU)Trent and McElroy stepped up The Tide is not a one man band. We've played through advirsity all year and survived.
On the other hand you have Texas. They have lost one game in the last two years (Before the BCSCG). Colt McCoy has been awesome over this period and is a great kid to boot. I have no issues against this team and will pull for them in the future. I do have issues with those Texas fans that say the Horns had a better team than Bama when Colt McCoy was on the field. A team , once again, has 85 players on its roster. If the Horns has one player so valuable that if he's lost your no longer the best so called Team in the nation I don't see how they can consider themselves the best Team in the nation He may even been the best player in the nation(Ingram and the voters might not agree).
If this is truely the case, and Texas has built a team totally around one man does ths mean you have poor coaching? Do you impeach someone for building a team around one player. I certainly couldn't see Saban building a Team around one player.
Sorry for the rant but I just am getting Tired of the Texas fans WHO ARE saying they had a better team than Alabama but then we knocked McCoy out of the game.
The University of Alabama has the Best Team in the nation !
Our O-Line, Green but good.
Eerlier I was browsing over at BON and saw a thread about their o-line. Seem that they have 3 seniors and 2 juniors but still they feel that they are their weakest link. With all the 4&5 star players they've recruited over the past several years , why would this be the weak link. Almost like some of them are glad they are graduating.
Last year we lost three great linemen who were great with the push although struggled to some extent in pass protection. All in all were a really good line.
This year we came in with a couple returning starters. We brought in one juco player and bam, seems we have a good line again (but still struggle at times with pass protection).
My question to you guys is, " Is it our S$C coach, O-Line coach, or a combo that makes them a champion caliber line? Are our backs so good they make them look better? I mean we have two 5 star recruits sitting out in lieu of improvement.
Were these guys this great and just weren't noticed before now? Before the season most of us Questioned this group but they have definitely rison to the occasion.I know we'll lose a leader in Johnson next year but shouldn't we even expect it to be a better unit next year?
Tried to make this a fanshot but could someone please tell me how and where to find an image I tried to copy the old RBR logo and it wouldn't let me paste it in the box. I know, I'm showing my illiteracy.
I'm not an auburn hater. But
I think the tigers are hanging their season on a lost game to the Tide. I also think the bowlsters are gambling on the barn fans spending plenty to go see their tigers play since they must be so good.
I give the coaches credit for comin up with a good game plan against Bama. I give the players credit for playin up to or above their potential. But I don't think they're a good team. Not a New Years Day team. They had some wins against some fair teams. Should they be ahead of some of the other( i feel are better) SEC teams?
Can you hang a season on one game?
Recruiting for 09
Hey guys, Guess I'm feeling pretty good about our season. And already lookin forward to the 09 season. My favorites include Scout and Rivals and I've been checking them often.
We've been pretty high in both being in the top five in recruiting class. But today , we've dropped to #10 with Scout but still #5 at Rivals. Some of the other teams in the Top 10 have just signed some great prospects and leapfrogged us.
I know we had a great recruiting class in 08 and if over today wud have a good class this year and signing day isn't here yet. I just wonder how our loss in the Sugar Bowl has affected our recruiting ,if any, and what are our chances of getting Randle since he visited.
How do ya'll feel about our recruiting chances as of this week as opposed to last week.

2009 committments
We've had a great run from our seniors but its almost time for them to move onto either the pros or future businessmen. I'm sure they will be as successful in all their lives as they've made us feel as fans.
Our freshman of 2008 did a great job as well and it looks like CNS has already managed to round up 19 more great committments for next year. It appears we will be in good shape on the oline with hard work and experience.
My question is for OTL, NICO, or Todd who seem to be able to answer any question my limited knowledge of football is able to wonder about. If we have 9 seniors to graduate from the team, how could we have 19 freed scholarships for the incoming committments?
Thoughts on Florida
When I see florida on offense I see a big part of Florida's success is Tebow"s ability to run. When he begin's to scramble, opposing defenses (in fear of his ability) leave their assignments in the secondary and leave the recievers wide open. Saw that twice in highlights of the Fla/Sem. game and countless times in games thruout the year.
That being said, Iknow he is talented but our front seven is very good. I think CNS will keep his guys where they need to be(DOING THINGS THE RIGHT WAY). I don't think the threat of him running will put our secondary out of position.
There was a lot of talk about Auburn's good defense being able to shut down our run. That never happened. We will be able to run the ball on Florida also. Our run game is that good.
Roy's only play tonite worries me cause I really believe we need him on third and long situations against Florida's team speed. He is awesome after catches in the flats.
In the post game interview CNS was asked about being an underdog next week "I don't care" , he said. HE WILL use this to his advantage next week. The TIDE WILL BE READY NEXT WEEK. ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Roy Upchurch
Roy seemed to have played a large role in our offense for most of the year. I haven't heard anything about his back spasms (I think it was) since CNS said he was scheduled for an MRI. In certain games he seemed to have loosened up opposing defenses with his open field abilities. Not to take anything away from Glen or Mark, who are both great backs , but Roy brings a little something different to the table. Maybe I just missed a report or briefing which is very possible(since my wife says I hear what I want to), but have ya'll heard anything. We will do ok without him Sat but we could really use another weapon next Saturday for the SECCG.
