Podium Cafe Are you going to Interbike?

If you are, I'd recommend you to check out ARTCRANK. It's a show of original, bike-inspired posters made by artists from around the world (including me). The limited-edition posters are for sale for $50 and $5 from each poster sale will go to People for Bikes. They're set up in the Urban Yard (a big lounge-ish area on the main floor by the escalators).

You can check out some previews of the posters at brainstormoverload.

It won't suck. I promise.

Podium Cafe RadioShack-Nissan-Trek Professional Cycling Team

Love it or hate it (and I'm sure there'll be a lot of both here), it's official. I'm personally pretty ambivalent about it all but it's going to be rough for a lot of riders to find teams this late. Also, can't we have a longer name? I mean RadioShack-Nissan-Trek Professional Cycling Team is nice but what about Leopard? Or maybe can we just have their "o" in Radio?

Podium Cafe Artcrank | A Poster Party for Bike People

A friend of mine is puts together shows of of bicycle-inspired original poster art in cities around the US. The posters are created by local artists and designers. It's really cool stuff. You can find out more here: http://www.artcrankpostershow.com/

Right now he is looking for artists in San Francisco and Portland for upcoming shows. If you are interested or know someone who might be, please get in touch with him (or me).

It's a great event if you can make it.

Podium Cafe Kid carrying devices

Does anybody have any thoughts or experience? My daughter, Mercy, will be a year old this summer and I am looking forward to taking her out on some rides. She is a very busy, curious and squirmy kid so I am thinking that the seats are out. Also, the possibility of using a trailer for hauling other things (like groceries and beer) is appealing.

We would love to hear what you all think.

Thanks!

Podium Cafe Ricco admits to doping

VeloNews has the story.

The Italian ANSA news agency has reported that cyclist Ricardo Riccò, who tested positive for a new form of EPO, following the 4th stage of the Tour de France, has admitted to having doped in preparation for the French tour.

According to ANSA, the former Saunier Duval rider made the admission at a hearing before the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) on Wednesday.

So that's good, that he admits it, right?

"It was my error alone and because of this I refused the option to have my B sample tested," said Riccò. "My thoughts are with my team because of me some could have lost their jobs.

"I'm thinking also of my teammates who, because of me, could not continue their adventure in the Tour de France."

Podium Cafe JENS!

"I am being saved for something special," smiled Voigt. "I am like a tightly coiled spring and I'm just waiting for Bjarne to pull the trigger and release me and then - bam, I will explode into the race."
