The Rockhead is middle-aged, living in Lakewood, CO. I became a life-long Rockie fan on April 26, 1995 when Bichette went yard in the 14th to win the Coors opener.

Colorado Rockies' survival guide for pitching at Coors Field - Tom Verducci - SI.com
Pretty nice read here, with great stuff from Dac.
2010 Postseason Ticket Opportunity. Don't forget to register!
Just a reminder that the 14th is the last day to register for NLDS tickets. You can register for all postseason opps at the same time. You know we're gonna be there!
Jimenez remains modest in light of huge success - MLB - Yahoo! Sports
Ubaldomania remains in full swing. Given the coverage our ace has gotten this year, I personally will refrain from any calls of East (or West) coast bias in the media for at least a month. We're witnessing history, Rowbots. Enjoy!
Rockies ace Ubaldo Jimenez treating us to truly historic run - Tim Marchman - SI.com
Still more love for our Ace. I'm still finding it hard to believe that the best pitcher in baseball is a Rockie! Wow.
Comfortable Car-Go on Verge of Stardom -- MLB FanHouse
Nice piece on our buddy CarGo. Enjoy.
Teams like Yankees, Rockies weigh risk vs. reward for no-hitters - Joe Lemire - SI.com
Following the discussion on pitch counts, pitcher abuse, etc., you might like this piece. I'm not normally a Lemire fan, but this is interesting anyway.
Odd Contract Terms
Found this while site hopping. Thought my fellow Rowbots might enjoy as well.

Slumping Rockies get lineup shakeup from Tracy
Game thread won't be up for awhile yet, so I thought I'd just alert the troops. Really hope speed kills tonight!

Some good news from TR tonight.
Mets reliever Billy Wagner claimed off waivers
But by whom? Anyone think the Rox would have an interest?
Jeff Passan Discovers FanGraphs
Found this a hair humorous, given the use of FanGraphs info around these parts.
My midseason awards - Jon Heyman - SI.com
Jon Heyman (of all people) has some love to spare for our Rockies in his midseason awards column. I won't spoil it for you!
Tom Verducci says Hawpe should be an-All Star
And a starting one at that. Marquis the Magnificent doesn't make the list though, but there is one Rockie in the "Notable Omissions" link at the end.
So what do you think?
Alrighty then. With April behind us, I'm wondering what my fellow Rowbots are thinking.
Our Rockies are 8-12. They've played poorly, they've played pretty well on a couple of occasions. They have been inconsistent to say the very least, yet they have shown sparks of what we all hoped they would be. The starting pitching has been...well, you know. The early schedule has been brutal. The lusty month of May doesn't look quite as bad to these eyes, but with only 9 nine home games in June, the march to the All-Star break looks pretty rough.
So here' my question, Rowbots: How do you feel our Rox right now? Are we playing for next year? Can we still be a factor in the NLW this year? I have my own opinions, but won't share them just yet. I'd just like to get a feel for how everyone else is feeling right now.
And, as always, it's a real privilege sharing a little corner of cyberspace with all of you. Have at it.
National League West spring training preview-SI.com
Hey, guess what? SI doesn't much like our chances in 09. Thought you Rowbots might want to take a peek, anyway.
Rockies invite prospects to spring training
Don't that this is big news, but my fellow Rowbots might like to know.

Not sure what impact this will have, but being in the NL West, thought others might be interested.
Rox have deal in place for Marquis - The Denver Post
While the rest of the Denver sports world is in a tizzy over the Shanahan firing, this is an interesting move. Whaddaya think, Rox fans?
Broncos fire coach Shanahan - The Denver Post
Looks like the 3 game collapse was the proverbial straw.
ALCS Game 7
Just thought I'd put up a thread in the event that anyone wants to follow the game.
I'm hoping that the Rays can loosen their collars a bit and hang on to win this last one. I really don't want to see the Sox in yet another WS.
I'll just add some meaningless words to make this long enough to qualify as a Fan Post. I miss Rockies baseball, I miss Rocktober, I miss all the chatter on the Row. Here's to 2009!
Rox: Hurdle rids three coaches - The Denver Post
I had really hoped for a new pitching coach next year as well, but clearly Hurdle and Apodaca are somehow conjoined.
Cook out for the season
I guess this isn't much of a surprise given how Cookie's pitched his last few outings. Still...sigh.
