This would be understandable if he was drunk, but for some reason I don't think he was..

Executive Director of the Here We Build committee, Chris Lehane admitted, "Ron Burkle is a great name and obviously has had enormous success…he is someone who has shown a great deal of interest in this. I think ‘Ron Burkle in Sacramento’ has a nice ring to it."

Rob McAllister thinks the Anderson addition to the committee could be key

Ex-Kings coach E Muss continues to make his family proud. At least he's not drunk this time. I think.

Sactown Royalty Thoughts on the departed

We've seen a bunch of guys leave the past couple of days.  Guys I liked.  Some guys I really liked.  So I would just like to pay my last respects to these dearly departed Kings.

Brad Miller--B52.  What can I say?  I loved this guy and his game.  Even if I only saw flashes of it the last few years, I loved it when I saw it.  You will be missed Brad, and also the era you just closed the door on.

John Salmons-- Again, another guy I liked.  John, I dug the way you played on both ends and with a different Kings team I think you could've really been something.  Good luck in Chicago, keep up the solid play.

Bobby Brown-- I saw things from you that made me think we may have struck free agent gold, but you never quite did enough to make me look past your ridiculous name.  Hang around the league, catch on somewhere BB.

Shelden Williams-- Sorry, but I just never expected much of you.  You didn't acheive my minor expectations, but I bet you can parlay that Duke pedigree into at least one more decent contract.

Mikki Moore--  I liked 3 things about you.  1.  The nicknames you inspired around here.  Mikki No Thumbs, Lobster, Blue Tooth, among others.  Hell, I even turned you into a verb.  When I dropped the ball on something, I "Mikki Moored it". 2.  Your tenacious play and feroucious random dunks.  The dunks always came out of nowhere and got me pumped.  3.  You played college ball with a bouncer at the local bar I frequent.  I loved his Nebraska stories, he loved my tales of your latest dropped pass or surprising flush.

Sam Cassell-- One of my alltime favorite Kings of the Sacramento era.  You just accomplished so much here, I don't think I even need to begin to list your successes.

Quincy Douby-- I always wanted you to do well, but always kind of knew you wouldn't.  To me, that really makes you a King.  I hope you find success.

Kenny Thomas-- Your time here was appreciated.  Cool nickname, cool game when you first arrived.  I'll remember you, but I'll especially remember what you did to our cap.  Oh wait, somehow we traded 2 starters but not you.  Crap.  Well, glad to see you're still around K9!  Woof!

And finally to all of the above mentioned, Once a King, Always a King, in my eyes.

Sactown Royalty My Personal Opinion on the team

I've been an avid follower of this blog for a few years now and made comments here or there, but never really made my opinions known.  I feel it's time to finally step up and make a post for two reasons.  First, because I would just like to see if anyone agrees with me and who those people are.  And second, because I used to love to get on here and read all the comments by fellow Kings but lately the comments have become a little "SacBee-ish" to me.  I would like to try to put the pettiness and in-fighting aside for one post and just have a good debate on who should stay and who should go if we plan on putting together a championship team.

So, that said, I'm just going to go down the roster and make a quick line or two about each guy.

PG

Beno-Sometimes good, sometimes not so good.  I can see him as a backup on a championship team (which he has already proven), but I definitely don't want him as the starter.  Woul like him to stay, wouldn't mind a trade either.

Brown-Jury's still out, let's see what he can do over the next year and half.  Could be a throw in on a good trade also.

Jackson-Like the guy, don't want him taking anymore minutes from Brown or any of the other 2's

SG

Martin-Love him.  Absolutely has a spot on a championship team, maybe not as a true #1 though.  Untouchable in my opinion.

Douby-Sorry it didn't work here buddy, good luck in your next destination.

SF

Salmon-I really like his game, on both ends, just don't know that he has a place next to Speed.  Great value, we need to sell high and get something more than cap space for him.

Garcia-To me he's a perfect sixth man on a contender.  Solid on both ends with a tendency to have special games both ways.  Keeper.

Greene-Crossing my fingers on him and hoping he can develop into a viable starter.  Let's keep him and see what we can do.

PF

Thompson-Like him more each game.  I think he has a very high ceiling and floor, if that makes sense.  Definitely keep.

Moore-The best thing about this guy is the nicknames he's inspired here (Lobster, Blue Tooth)  Please trade or buyout at the end of season.

C

Miller-Used to really enjoy watching him, but now he's starting to agrevate me more and more.  Trade him, preferrably for cap space but I wouldn't throw a fit about getting Marion for either bait or a temporary patch.

Hawes- Needs to be starting with Shock.  Let's see how they do together.  I see both of them finding a spot in a championship caliber rotation.

Shelden-If he had another year or two on his deal I would love to see him getting burn with Shock and Hawes, but as it is he'll be gone after the season.

That's it, let me have it now.  I apologize for any grammar or formatting errors.  Constructive criticism more than welcome.
