Buffalo Rumblings mocking bill: please vote

Slightly different from a mocking bird , the mocking bill wants to know what you think. I did this mock at the end of february, and with the slight change of flipping my third and fourth picks its still the same. I want to see how much my draft grade has changed since then. Thanks for voting and go bills nation.

Round One:  quarterback Blaine Gabbert. Mizzou: I'm not going to lie ,I'm just as fine with Patrick Peterson, Marcell Dareus, or Green here.(assuming Fairley and Bowers go first second)  but I want to see Gabbert made "our guy". It's time fellow rumblers, whether fitzy is here or not. It's time. Cam Newton is not my favourite pick here. I want someone who is going to love the Bills for taking him, not love the bills for paying him.

Round Two: Tight End Kyle Rudolph. Notre Dame: Don't hate me for not addressing defense front 7 yet. There's depth in this draft's front seven. I don't feel passing on Gabbert is an option for a quarterback starved team. Friends, we are deficient at tight end. To me, Rudolph is a big boy who can block and receive. Shawn Nelson hasn't showed us much since opening night where we almost beat the patriots. I don't see much depth at tight end in this draft, and I think this is a must.  If he goes to Atlanta I'd like to take the best Otackle or OLB/DE available.

Round Three:OLB Brooks Reed. Arizona. we have to get after the man who throws the football. He's big , fast and hopefully a Bill come May.

Round four: Inside LineBacker . Kelvin Sheppard,    LSU- he might not be here. He might fall to here. we could use some beef at inside linebacker yes, but I won't pass on Rudolph, we can find depth for poz in the later rounds.

Round FourDefensive End/Tackle Cedric Thornton. Southern Arkansas. I don't kno much about him , heres what walter football says " Projected Round (2011): 4-6.
10/8/10: Thornton is one of the biggest small-school sleepers in the 2011 NFL Draft, but I've heard he has been as dominant against inferior competition to be an early-round pick."

Round Five: Cornerback Jalil Brown. Colorado: Again I don't know much, but he addresses a need and carries a 4-6 round grade currently on a few sights. Plus he's tall, I like tall cornerbacks :) I mean, the guys they gotta cover are freakin giants and athletically freakish. Nuff said.

Round Six: Inside Linebacker Mike Mohamed. California : He's big 6'3 240. Let's get bigger and baddder. More depth is a good thing. And that's a good thing.

Round 7: I can't not address the worst  part of the bills two seasons ago. So i'm going to take a project tackle, a La Demetrius Bell Dick Jauron Era and let's see if we can make him into a mean O Guard so we can swing Eric wood to centre and just beat the piss out the dolphins, jets, and pats front 7. Hey I can dream can't I ?

Offensive tackle Rob McGill. Louisiana Tech: Likely to move to guard in the pros. 6'6", 309 Lbs.

Buffalo Rumblings Mock this

I'm going to throw my two cents in a little earlier than I wanted to. But I cannot resist. Mock away....

Buffalo Rumblings Ten things I think I think:

A little Saturday Morning quarterback for all the bills fans out there

1. I think I have given up on Trent Edwards. I've been passionate about him not getting adequate time to throw the ball, thus yielding poor results from him. However, I am fed up with his inability to take the reigns. I mean he's basically been given the keys. His only competition is Fitzpatrick and Brohm? Yet he remains dismal at best.

2. I think Steve Johnson can be our leading receiver this year. I saw good routes, good hands and a desire to gain yards. He may need to put on a few pounds though. Hooray for a bright side!

3. I think I liked Aaron Maybins penalty on Donovan McNabb. In the regular season I'd have lost my lid. However, in the pre-season I want to see some passion from him even if it is misplaced and dumb.

4. I think the bills made Rex Grossman look good. McNabb looked good, and is good. Rex Grossman is bad and looked good. This scares me.

5. I think Marshawn Lynch could be this teams saving grace, and other teams worst nightmare. Come weeks 12,13,14,15,16, and 17 he just may end some playoff hopes. He is, to me anyways, one of the most underrated running backs in this league and could be poised to put up 11-1200 yards should he be a feature back. I think he alone will steal 1-2 games this season for an otherwise lackluster offense.

6. I think I will never forgive the Dick Jauron Era for passing on Michael Oher. I don't really want to beat this one into submission but forgetting the fact that I picked him in the annual who's the bills first round selection on bills.com, this team is starved for talent at tackle. I love the Wood and Levitre picks and feel that if it were Oher, Wood, Levitre , Byrd , I may not still have plans to give DJ a piece of my mind should our paths ever cross. Enough said?

7. I think the bills will win 5 games this year and go 1-5 in the division.

8. I think the bills will be selecting a quarterback in the top 5 picks next draft.

9. I think Leodis McKelvin and Ashton Youboty need to play as much as they can in pre-season. Lots of talent just waiting to come out...

10.I think that the moment shared between Joe Theismann and Dan Snyder where Theismann thought they intercepted another pass and looked at Dan Snyder with loving eyes was the most awkward instance I have ever seen between two grown men on T.V. Anyone who watched the game last night knows what I'm talking about.

Buffalo Rumblings Mock me.

After countless mocks, and even more speculation I reckon it is time for me to throw my hat in the ring. I'm likely to catch a lot of flack for all of my picks. Some of you might think it is just what OBD ordered. Others may feel like I've been working at OBD for the past decade or so. Nevertheless I give you my mock in dolby 5.1. Enjoy, and please, don't be kind. Weigh in.

RD1. DERRICK MORGAN DE GEORGIA TECH

A Defensive end are you cereal? Yes, I am super cereal. Guys let's look at who we have to face 6 times a year. Tom Brady, and two rising quarterbacks in Henne and Sanchez with plenty of firepower in  both the running game and receiving. The blueprint to beat these teams is front seven pressure and third and longs where are defensive backfield can take over a game. Our bills don't boast a whole lot of front seven pressure. Derrick Morgan brings a solid defender set to replace our aging Defensive ends. Maybin is an OLB, we need a stud on the line. D Morg is my boiiii. Don't worry, if you liked that pick you can surely rip me on this next one.

RD.2 TYSON ALUALU  DT CALIFORNIA

Nope, not mount Cody much to your chagrin. Tyson Alualu has a lot more going for him in my opinion. Despite the fact he's not your traditional 3-4 runstuffer, this man will command double teams. His motor is unstoppable. Terrance Cody's stops at the nearest Burger King. I believe he can play the first and second downs for our team, and in third and long I would love to see him slide out to end. It would be Alualu, K. Williams, and Derrick Morgan up front on that package, with maybin coming off the edge. Sack lunch? Num num num num.

RD.3 ERIC DECKER WR MINNESOTA

Being a Penn State fan,I have a vested interest in everything Big Ten. I watched a lot of Golden Golpher's games this year and wow wow wow wow. I think of of T. J. Houshmanzadeh when I watched him play. A big burly possession wideout who is an excellent compliment to a number 1. A large body in the redzone, who is not afraid to go over the middle.

*** Please note that if Ricky Sapp (OLB Clemson) were still available at this time, I would be compelled to take him and help our pass rush. If this were the case I would look for Mardy Gilyard, WR out of Cincinnati in the 4th round.

RD.4 NAVORRO BOWMAN OLB "LINEBACKER U"

Not just a shoutout to my favourite team, this cat can play. More of a run stopping OLB, but he can still get to the passer. Off field issues and injuries might have you guys worried, but if JoePa vouches for him, the tape speaks for itself. A great compliment to Aaron Maybin and the Posz, anyone noticing a theme in our LB corps? This pick has probably got people frustrated, sound off.

RD.5 KYLE CALLOWAY OT IOWA

I know a lot of you probably stopped reading this when I didn't take a tackle in the first or second rounds. I'm not so high on Bulaga as everyone else seems to be, I think he's a perrennial right tackle.  I really like Anthony Davis though. I feel he is the best OT behind Okung. However we have glaring needs on defense, and I'm not writing off Bell and Meredith just yet. I think Kyle Calloway is a great option to replace our recently retired right tackle. He's versatile and nasty. He can easily kick inside to guard, which is fantastic because Wood could kick inside to center. Getting two birds stoned at once? Yes please.

RD.6.A TONY WASHINGTON OT ABILENE CHRISTIAN

I don't think that I have reached yet in this mock. Say what you will about Alualu but he will be solid. I don't think this is a reach either although due to a scary past, NFL teams might pass on him until free agency. The fact  of the matter is this guy is a solid prospect. Had he been able to play more ball and not had such a troubled past I think this guy goes in the top 2 rounds. With that being said he is raw, "green" if you will. A project for Chan Gailey, a la Demetrius Bell to Dickie J.  He brings a lot to the table for a 6th round draft pick , and that is aces in my books.

RD.6.B JEVAN SNEAD QB OLE MISS

This might be a reach. He is projected really late, but he has a lot of upside. Probably not your favourite QB in this years draft class, likely not in your top 5. I'm not going to preach to you what I like about him. If any of you saw his bowl game, and saw him get up after getting K'O''d trying to make a tackle, you'll know why he is my selection.

RD.7.A BRANDON DEADERICK DT ALABAMA

Don't think we have enough beef on first down? How does 6-7' , 314 lbs sound? First downs only, Alualu on second down, third down bring in Kyle Williams and Alualu kicks out to the 5 technique. Maybin and Bowman coming off the edge? Jairus Byrd getting his first pick 6. "they be ballin in the b=lo"

RD.7.B COLIN PEEK TE ALABAMA

A little bit thin and wiry, but one or two years in an NFL conditioning program and you have a good blocking tight end who can go out there and catch a few balls.

Allright fellow rumblers, start rumbling.
