After watching the Cavs summer league games, many of us wanted Pooh Jeter to be signed to our season roster. The Sacramento Kings were impressed as well. Today, the Kings announced the signing of Pooh Jeter.

GREENWICH, Conn., July 8, 1990 -- Michael Jordan announced on national television he's leaving Chicago to join the Detroit Pistons. Jordan said it was tough to bolt Chicago, where he was the most popular athlete in many years, because he thinks he has a better chance to win a championship if he plays with Pistons star Isiah Thomas. Jordan said by playing together, he and Thomas "won't have the pressure of going out and scoring 30 every night."

Fear The Sword ESPNews reporting its Miami

Its very late/ very early, but ESPNews is reporting that LeBron is going to Miami.  The Boston, NY, and Chicago blogs are blowing up with comments even at this hour, so I figured after throwing my two cents around with their members, we needed a post here.  In my view, this sure seems like a marketing smokescreen leak from the LeBron camp to produce even more interest in the primetime "Decision" show.  It follows the pattern - In the 30 hours before the decision, its announced LeBron will do the show just outside of NYC, creating Knicks speculation.  Then, 20 hours before, throw a rumor out there about joining a superteam in Miami.  Meanwhile, during the whole free agent process, make all the prospective teams come to downtown Cleveland.  Its marketing for tv... keep interest in three teams to make it more theatrical for primetime.  Regardless, tonite we will know the direction our franchise will take over the foreseeable future.  We will either be adding a few pieces for a championship run, or we will fall from elite to rebuilding.

This article was written right after his injury last season in the playoffs. Great story about his history with knee injuries and other family issues growing up. The guy is tough!

QB Shaun Hill just got traded from the 49ers to the Lions for a 7th round pick. Hill, in his 3 year career of 19 games played/10 starts has a 87.3 QB rating with 23 TD/11 INT. These numbers are much better than Brady Quinn's. What value, if any, does Quinn really have in a trade?

Darnell Jackson recorded a double-double with 34 points and 12 rebounds. Danny Green scored 15 points, Cedric Jackson 19 points. BayHawks play again Friday nite at home. Would be a fun trip to see the Cavs young guys if you get a chance.

"He knows I would love for him to be back here. I want him to be back here, especially while we're contending for a title," LeBron James said before the Cavaliers' game in Boston. "He's one of the main reasons why I want to win a title for this team."

Dawgs By Nature Urban Meyer?

Urban Meyer has just announced his resignation from the Florida Gators.  He is from Ashtabula, OH, he coached at Bowling Green.  Did Mike Holmgren talk Meyer into this by offering him the head coaching job of the Browns next year?  I know some people (me included) are leery of college coaches starting as rookie head coaches in the NFL.  Would this be the second coming of a Nick Saban disaster?   At least Meyer has no connection with Belicheck.  How would you react if Urban Meyer was selected by Mike Molmgren to be our next head coach?

Fear The Sword shooting guard weakness

i see weakness both offensively and defensively at our shooting guard position.  some people want Delonte to start again or for Boobie to get more minutes, since he is playing well.  however, i would like to continue to see Delonte coming off the bench because he can play both guard positions and he is our only bench player that can create his own shot off the dribble.  also, Boobie is too small to guard most shooting guards so, i like his role to stay the same as well.  the change i would like to see is for Danny Green to get some of the 30 minutes that Anthony Parker is getting every nite. say, 10 minutes per game.  lets see what he can do as a change of pace for Parker.  Green is a similar player in size and ability to Parker, but much younger with more athletism.  Anthony Parker seems to do a lot of standing around on offense and looks slow defending young athletic SGs.  we need to develop Green now, so he can help in the backcourt come playoff time.
