Talking Chop I BLAME JACK WILSON!!!!!

First off, this guy has never made the playoffs, and we were rolling until we acquired him on August 31st. Once we acquired him, we have had a crap September. I say we blame Wilson, I think he is cursed, you don't just lose like we have lost without him being cursed. No wonder he hasn't made the playoffs. Damn you Jack, DAMN YOU!!!!

LOL, this was more a joke than anything else, just having a little fun, crazy though, cause when we acquired Wilson and they said he never made playoffs, I was thinking finally Jack you will be in the playoffs. Wow, crazy how this month has been. Hopefully Hudson can pitch great, cause we are gonna need it.

Talking Chop What we gave up and what we got for Tex

Rangers got Salty, Andrus, Harrison, Jones, and Feliz

Braves got Tex and Mahay, now there gone, now we have Kotchman, Duvall(from the Mahay pick), and Marek

Angels got Tex

Good deal at the time cause we got Tex and Mahay. It didn't work out but not a awful deal.

Ok first off we have no need for Salty at Catcher. And Kotchman I would MUCH rather have at First base. I dont think Salty will be able to hit enough to put up with his below average defense at First. Jones and Marek I would say is a wash. I have never been a big fan of Harrison. I like Jurrjens, Reyes, Morton and Hanson way more than Harrison. And I actually like Duvall more than Harrison also. Andrus was blocked, I like KJ and Escobar more and plus we still have Lillibridge, it was easy to give Andrus up. I still like Andrus upside though. Feliz will probably be the ONLY guy that we regret trading in this deal. But getting ONE full year from Tex makes it worth it especially when we tried to win the World Series. So I guess you can look at it as we gave up Andrus and Feliz for Tex. So it actually looks like we gave up 2 guys for Tex.

I think if you look at it this way you are happy with what we got. And also thinking that it was not NEARLY as bad of a trade as alot of people think. I heard Buster Olney talk bad about the 2007 trade earlier today or last night but he is a moron anyway at least thats what I think. At least now Smoltz, Chipper and Bobby knows that we tried to win it all last year and this year so they can at least respect the front office for tryin one last time at the Series while they are still playing. Not saying that we wont win the World Series while there still here but it will be difficult.

Talking Chop Possible destinations for Tex

You know what. The more I think of it the more I think that there will be a solid offer for Tex at the deadline. I mean if you REALLY look at it who is the CLEAR favorite to win the World Series? No team. Even the mighty Red Sox have struggled some this year. The Angels are a very good team but do they have enough power? prolly not so it will be tough for them. And plus there closer COULD be with another team next year, so why not go for it this year. Of course I realize they NEVER trade there prospects but this is a new GM.

The Red Sox are interesting but dont know if they would trade Youk. But if they got Tex and Ortiz comes back healthy they would be a FAVORITE for the World Series.

The Rays is very intersting. I mean they have a good team and just because they are doin good this year dont mean they will do good NEXT year. (see Colorado Rockies). Why not try for the championship this year? I might do Davis straight up for Tex if they offered that. That would be a good deal for us. And the Rays could definately afford to give him up for Tex. No way we get Price though. And before you think that Davis is too much remember that Jeff Nieman was once labled a potenial Ace, now at best a potential number 4. And they have Kazmir, Shields, Garza, soon to be Price, and alot of guys that can be a real good number 5 starter.

D-Backs are interesting also. They could get Tex and move Connor Jackson to LF or trade Jackson to us. But even if they dont trade Jackson they have a good enough farm system to give us a few good players.

The Dodgers are interesting cause of Ned Colleti. hahahhahha. Maybe he would be stupid enough to trade Loney. I doubt it but you never know with Colleti.

Thats about the only teams I see that might go after Tex. They still may not offer much for Tex but you would think that they would because every team has a chance at the Championship. There is NO clear winner. And plus the Pirates DONT have to trade Nady or Bay this year. They can wait until the offseason or NEXT trade deadline. So they will not be in no rush to trade unless they get the right package. I realize that Nady will probably get traded but  who knows how long Nady will hit like this and we ALL know that Tex is a second half player. You know what your gettin from Tex not so much from Nady. Pitchers are not as scared of Nady as they are of Tex and everybody knows that. And the Rockies DONT have to trade Holliday either. They could wait until next offseason or next trade deadline. Or they could try to win again next year. The ONLY BIG bat that is out there for DEFINATE is Tex. Seems to me we can and SHOULD get a better package than alot of us are thinkin even what I was thinkin a few days ago. I just cannot believe that NONE of those teams will not offer us a good package especially if it IMPROVED there chances at a championship even if it is a rental.

Talking Chop Joe Borchard Should make the Braves roster!

Borchard has been great for the Braves in Spring training with 10 RBI's. I like Brandon Jones but it would not hurt for him to get more seasoning in AAA. People are talkin about trading for Rivera but why when Borchard can do what Rivera would and at the fraction of the cost and we dont have to give up nothing in return, we just pay Borchard for making the team.

The team that most likely would need Thorman the most is probably the New York Yankees. It really makes perfect sense for them to want him. He is a DEAD pull hitter and playing half his games in that short porch in RF he would produce there. Him and Duncan platooning I could see 30-40 HR's between them. But what would we get from the Yankees that we would want? Now that I do not know.

Talking Chop Its time to Free Diaz!

BC needs to play Diaz Every single game! Harris is in a prolonged slump! Harris cant hit better than Diaz, Cant steal, has no power, AND cant get a Damn bunt down to help us win a game! BC and his loyalty has killed us this year! If JS did NOT trade Langerhans, Langy WOULD STILL be starting against Righties! BC also KEPT AJ in the Cleanup spot when he was hitting UNDER .200! I mean come on! I like BC, but this loyalty crap has cost us some games this season! If any kind of descent Cleanup hitter was hitting in the Cleanup spot for us they would be putting up A-Rod numbers RIGHT NOW! Imagine IF we had Tex for the whole season hitting Cleanup! Wow!

But anyway to Diaz, LOOK AT THESE NUMBERS: Diaz CAN hit right-handed pitching, quite well as a matter of fact. He's hit .331 with a .794 OPS in 134 at-bats against them this season, compared to crazy .372 and 1.023 OPS in 164 ABs vs. lefties

For his career, it's .335 with .910 OPS in 382 ABs vs. lefties, .314 with .782 OPS in 322 ABs vs. righties....

But YET BC is still playing Harris OVER Diaz! Unbelievable! We have 6 games left EACH against BOTH the Mets AND the Phillies! We will need Diaz in those games! We NEED to win 10 of 12 all together against them, IF we want to even think about winning the East! If BC keeps on starting Harris against Righties, then he has TOTALLY lost it as a manager! I like BC, and respect what he has done for us, but his loyalty crap has got to go! Diaz will HAVE to be a difference maker for us IF we want to win the East! And Diaz was in last nights win! We probably would have LOST if Harris was in there! I like Harris, but Diaz DESERVES to start everyday RIGHT NOW!

Who agrees with me?

Talking Chop 2008 Braves potential 25 man roster

This is a possibility for our 2008 team: C- McCann, 1B- Tex, 2nd- KJ, SS- Escobar, 3rd- Chipper Jones, RF- Brandon Jones, CF- Frenchy, LF- Diaz(No reason he should not start next year, what more can the dude do).

This is the potential Starters: #1- Smoltz, #2- Hudson, #3- the pitcher we get in the Renteria deal, #4- James(maybe THIS offseason he will work on another pitch, INSTEAD of working for Lowes), #5- this is what ever JS thinks he can do, potentially Byrd, Hernandez, Reyes, Hampton, Cormier, OR some other unknown!

This is the potential Relievers: Yates, Ring, Paronto,Devine, Acosta, Moylan, and Soriano!

This is our bench: Lillibridge(Super Utility player), Pena, Prado, maybe Harris, and MAYBE Julio Franco for ONE last year of his career and ONE last run at a SERIOUS Championship for at least five years! Next year IS our year, OR we will have to wait for awhile!

I like Renteria as much as the next guy, but our season is really gonna depend on what we get for him! And Eckstein is the ONLY descent SS on the Free agent market in the offseason! A-Rod MIGHT opt out, but even IF he does he will command at least 25-30 million a year so he will price himself out of a lot of teams payroll! This is the guys that we MIGHT be able to get: The Cubs Rich Hill, the A's Joe Blanton, the White Sox Javier Vasques, and maybe the Tigers Andrew Miller! The Tigers have thought about moving Guillen from SS to another position! But alot of other teams will also be interested! We might even have to be involved in a 3 OR 4 team trade! I see Renteria with another uniform on next year!
What do yall think about this? Yall agree or disagree?

This is my FIRST diary on talking chop!
