They are who we thought they were- Preseason game 3 thoughts
The third game in preseason is supposed to show us the best glance of what to expect in the regular season. For the Broncos, it was additionally important because we had several injured players coming back. Overall the night was a success. The Broncos and their fans should be excited. The sky is not falling and we stand a solid chance this year. That said, there is certainly room for improvement and some of it is critical if we truly hope to make a playoff run.
Here are my thoughts on some of the players and positions thus far.

A recap of the season so far (in rhyme)
I cranked this out on my lunch break. I am not a poet nor do I aspire to be. I apologize in advance for any mispellings and lack of sructure.
Game one for the Broncos
It was an interesting day.
The media shook their heads,
this defense will never keep the Bengals at bay.
The Bengals fought hard
it was a close one indeed
But the Broncos would not give up
And with a tipped pass to Stokely, the Broncos had the lead.
Flag! Cried the Bengals,
looking for an infraction.
But the amazing play counted
And became known as the “immaculate deflection”
Up next were the Browns,
with Mangini and Quinn
But the Browns had trouble scoring
and the Bronco defense was credited with the win.
Then we traveled to Oakland
to play the silver and black
And again we made a statement
At 3-0, The Denver Broncos are back!
“Pish Posh” say the pundits
they’re playing an easy lot
Up next are the Cowboys
But Dawkins tells us reasuringly, “It matters not”.
After much anticipation,
America’s team finally came into town
But Champ Bailey stepped up
And shut poor Tony Romo down
Finally! Cry the fans we’re legit at last!
Not so fast says the MSM
Because up next are the Pats
In a chess match for the ages,
Master versus the protégée
Our defense had been unstoppable
But in the first half, the Patriots found a way
Adjustments were made,
coverages were tightened
And on every third down after
Tom Brady looked frightened
Orton and company began to find their rhythm
Could it be? The Patriots might lose.
Beaten by their own system
Marshall closed the gap with a juke and jive
And with an overtime field goal
The Broncos claimed win number five
The MSM is stunned,
grasping at anything to ascertain
McDaniels meanwhile
is no longer able to refrain
As he fist pumps and shouts, the fans begin to cheer
The Broncos are 5-0
And we are a team to fear.

Let the healing begin
The first pre-season game for the Broncos was 2 months ago, it feels more like 2 years. They lost 17-16 to SF remember? Actually, we lost the first three pre-season games. Those were scary times in Bronco country. Our head coach gone, QB gone, crazy draft, tough schedule, it was bad. I can't think of one "expert" that gave the Broncos more than 6 wins for the whole season. The fan base was polarized, venom was being spewed on blogs everywhere. Many were angry with what had happened to their beloved Broncos. They blamed Bowlen, they blamed Mc(fill in the blank), they would blame anyone they could. Others would just close their eyes, plug their ears and go to "La La Land". Hoping that maybe, just maybe this was all a bad dream. Well, now we know the truth. The kool-aid was not tainted. The results from the draft actually look decent. Our Defense is one of, if not the best in the NFL. The Broncos are still a proud organization and the future suddenly looks very bright. So for all of you that ditched the Broncos or lashed out at a fellow fan for disagreeing with you, it's time for a global group hug. Let us forget about the past. It's time to unite, stand proud, and look to the future . Our team is 5-0, let the healing begin!

You gotta love our grounds crew.
I'm not sure if someone else has already posted this, but I thought it was hilarious. Dallas reporter gets hit with sprinklers while live.
Orton making passes today during practice
Orton was on the field today making small pass and hand offs with his injured hand. He declined comment, but will speak with the media on Weds.
Strategic Competitiveness, the Xanders way
BedeshiBronco made an excellent observation hereand it got me thinking about Xanders and what the front office has been doing this year as far as competitiveness is concerned. What I found has given me a new found respect for Xanders and his staff.

Seattle blog says we are their new rival
Other than a simpson clip and some colorful language, I'm not impressed. How convenient we don't get to play them this year.
A few reasons I love MHR
As someone who is new to the site, I felt like it's time to voice my thoughts on MHR and give some credit where credit is due.
1. A bunch wise guys eh?- This is hands down the most informative and intelligent site for Bronco fans out there. I have been blown away by the level of professionalism and study that goes into many of the posts. From the in-depth study of the McD offense to the breakdown of each of our new players, you guys are dedicated and it shows! We had a guy AT THE FREAKIN DRAFT giving updates!! How cool is that?
2. Just the facts, Ma'am. - What's the difference between a sports expert and a novice? Their knowledge of the facts and how they impact the game. While there is certainly plenty of opinion thrown around, it amazes me how fans here dig up and use facts instead of just here-say. I've pretty much stopped reading and listening to the MSM since joining. I've got all the experts I need right here.
3. He did WHAT!!?? -This is easily the most controversial off-season for the Broncos in years… perhaps ever. For us passionate fans, this is a scary, exciting, nail-biting time and I love it. For better or worse, the Broncos organization has been turned on it's head and different opinions about it abound. I appreciate those of you who can contribute differing opinions without it turning into the filth that the DP blogs have become (props to the moderators too for removing the ones that can't). From the Kool-Aid kids to the Nay Sayers, I'd be happy to drink a brew and watch a game with any of you because in the end, we all cheer for the same guys in orange and blue.
Go Broncos!
