Bleed Cubbie Blue Possible change scenarios from the Boston Globe

In today's Boston Globe, Nick Cafardo has some interesting suggestions for Cubs owner Tom Ricketts to ponder in order to make the team contenders again. He does bring up some valid issues: http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/articles/2011/06/12/in_an_overhaul_cubs_should_try_to_put_sox_on/ The Red Sox obviously have had huge success since new ownership took charge in 2002. With 2 championships under his belt, John Henry proved how important making drastic changes at the top and on the field can be to a ballclub. Also, the refurbishment of Fenway probably increased fan loyalty even more (over 650 consecutive sellouts and counting) Comments welcome.

Bleed Cubbie Blue If not Lou, then who?

If Lou is gone after this year, who would be the most likely candidate to replace him?

In my opinion, it seems that Lou has lost interest in baseball (and the Cubs in particular), especially after the many puzzling decisions he has made this year.  I think he is ready to call it quits and retire peacefully in Tampa.  These past 3 seasons with the Cubs have got to be the most aggravating any MLB manager had to endure.  Look at his expressions when the camera pans on him in the dugout. He's already got one WS title-why go under the microscope again next year, especially with a new owner and possibly a totally revamped lineup?

The question is: who is mostl likely to replace him?  Maybe his boyhood buddy Tony LaRussa?

Please discuss.
