Brandon Belt demoted to AAA.
Damn, I guess the organization just doesn't think that highly of him. No links yet, but the source is very good.
EDIT: Now with more links!
This is not exactly the most scientific work, but I was bored and wanted to see how Pablo would fare if he had the benefit of playing his home games in Philadelphia. So, I took Pablo’s hit-chart at ATT and super-imposed Citizens Bank over it. Looks like about 9 more clear-cut homeruns, possibly more.
Potential inaccuracies include:
1. Are both ballparks to scale?
2. Are hits marked where they land on a fly and not where they eventually end up after rolling?
3. How accurately are the hits marked?
The charts are taken from MLB.com, so I would assume that they maintain some level of accuracy on all 3 of the above points. Again, this may be wildly inaccurate, but it’s sorta fun to think about nonetheless.

The Giants held a summit and decided Tim Lincecum will make two more starts instead of one after tonight’s outing against Arizona’s Randy Johnson.
That plan wouldn’t change even if Lincecum fails to win No. 18 tonight, which would end any chance of being the Giants’ first 20-game winner since 1993.
Lincecum will start on regular rest Tuesday and start the season finale against the Dodgers on Sept. 28. Bochy acknowledged the move was motivated in part to end the season on a solid note — something that could make a difference for season-ticket holders on the fence about renewing.
Limcecum is bound to lead the NL in pitches thrown, but Bochy said the Giants wouldn’t be doing this if they had any concerns about his arm. The summit included Bochy, GM Brian Sabean and trainer Dave Groeschner.
Bochy did say he plans to limit Lincecum’s pitch count in light of the career-high 138 he threw in his last start.
In other news, the Giants cleared two spots on the 40-man roster by designating Brian Horwitz and Matt Palmer. Bochy said they could use the space to activate right-hander Merkin Valdez from the 60-day DL, and possibly Kevin Frandsen, too. Noah Lowry was ruled out as a possibility, however.
Merkin has a simulated game planned for tomorrow and will throw in the instructional league opener on the 22nd. He’ll rejoin the club if it goes well.
Burriss could be finished in '08
Bad news accompanied the Giants' 6-2 win tonight, Tim Lincecum's 16th win.
Manager Bruce Bochy said rookie Emmanuel Burriss injured his left oblique muscle and could be done for the year. These tricky side-muscle injuries almost always take more than three weeks to heal.
Asked if this might be season-ending, Bochy said, "Sure, he's questionable for the year right now."
Burriss appeared to hurt himself while grounding into a double play in the fifth inning.
A few questions for Giants general manager Brian Sabean:
Thought by now some of your veteran players - Randy Winn, Rich Aurilia - might be dispersed to other teams.
BS: "There's still time. We've had some interest in our players, but nothing has materialized quite yet. But between now and the roster deadline [Aug. 31], there's still plenty of time for teams to assess their needs and come back to us with something."
I'm sure this has been a tough year. It seems as though you're bringing up younger kids and seeing what they can do.
BS: "It's a transitional time, but an exciting time. We'd like to see what these kids can do now and how we project them for our team in the future. There's been some frustration this year. We felt we did some things better than we expected and we didn't do things that we expected to do. We haven't hit at times and that puts a strain on your pitching staff."
Is Barry Zito salvageable?
BS: "In his defense, he's gone out there at times and had good stuff and we haven't supported him offensively. Same with Matt Cain. I think it's awfully tough mentally for a pitcher to know he's got to be perfect out there and not make a mistake because we aren't going to score enough runs to support him. Barry is transitioning, there's no doubt about that. He keeps searching for something to turn it around for him again, and believe me he's trying."
Do you have a plan for the future in terms of whether you want to go young or whether you want to dabble in the free agent market?
BS: "I think we made a great choice in going after Aaron Rowand last year. I think he's been everything as advertised for us and he's someone we would certainly want to build our team around in terms of a guy who leaves everything he has on the field every day. We have some things we need to correct and we'll look for free agents and to make deals. We need to do something about our bullpen. We need maybe to look and see if we can do something with a first baseman. We know we have a keeper in Fred Lewis. We'll certainly have to wait and see who's on our team by the end of the year and make our evaluations and who we have and who we don't have."
Was it tempting at all when you saw Barry Bonds on the field last weekend not to give him a jersey and suit up?
BS: "I don't think I'll touch that one."
