A facebook event is going around amongst UConn students.  The desire is to have a sudden spontaneous rave in the library during finals week. 

UCONN FLASHMOB RAVE

Please read this real quick. Im planning a rave in the library just like the ones at UNC and the one that just happened at James Madison University. My friends at both those colleges said it was so much fun. They got thousands of students from the university to flashmob rave at the library. Just watch the attached videos to see what I mean. Its nuts!

Inivite all your friends at UConn and we can do it... all we need is someone to dj the event. Its a good way to get your name out there as a dj. Anyway just please watch the videos.

WE CAN DO THIS

Now Im not even going to get into dances at UConn and Jasper Howard (still too soon) but this is rediculiously dumb. 

Its planned for finals week... so if the cops dont get you, all the pissed off kids trying to study will.  One students warns of the "$103 ticket for 'creating a public disturbance' " he got in the library.  Now the authorities have a list of who to write tickets for. 

372 students are listed as 'attending'. Another 300 in the maybes and 3,500 are listed as awaiting reply.

This is an open group, meaning anyone can see it or list themselves as attending. Thats how I came across it. It also means that the cop sitting at his desk looking at 19 year old sorority girls facebook photos can see it. 

At UConn they are not like our DPS where you can just walk away and they guy really cant do anything but call the real cops. These are State Troopers.  (one of the many reasons public schools suck)

Had the UConn students been creative enough to think of this themselves, they might be able to pull it off.  No one would be expecting it.  But UConn students are posers.  This has already been done and they want to rip off another school.  One way ticket to Lametown. Be creative!

Now if I know one thing, its that Connecticut kids are as lame as they get.  They love to talk about how "sick" this would be and hype it up, how there is nothing to do in CT, and then when the event rolls around - they dont show.

My friend who goes to Endicott College in Beverly Mass (right next to Glouster or however the hell you spell it)  just texted me about this.  Apparently there is a huge uproar in the Boston area (I wonder why?).  She said news cameras are all over her campus which is about the size of a Brooklyn back yard.  There are about 1,000 kids at this school and from what I can tell, a lot of CT and NY transplants.

the World Series. There will be a fire hydrant painted in their honor….

Personally, I think the Yankees winning is a cause for global celebration.  Its good for NY, the North East, for baseball, rap stars and famous basketball players who like the wear Yankees gear even though they are from other cities.... etc.  Painting a fire hydrant not only honors the Yankees, but firefighters as well so its a doubly fitting tribute.

"Bar stool sports" has the consensus Boston reaction:

This is in the heart of the North Shore. Like what’s the week after that? Painting a fire hydrant to celebrate when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and killed a shitload of Americans? The only possible explanation for this is that this is just a ruse to round up all the Yankee fans in one spot and then exterminate them. That has to be it.

Does that make anyone else smile?

Bottomline is the students need to riot or something to make this right.

Sorry Boston.  We had enough of your riots when you won the world series.  You dont get to riot when youre KNOCKED OUT IN THE FIRST ROUND. What is it with Mass holes and rioting?
