this is the top story on espn.com, but no mention on mlb.com or the angels site yet....SO sad!!!

Nick Adenhart, a rookie pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels, died in a car crash early Thursday morning, just hours after pitching in a game in Anaheim.

A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to ESPN.com that Adenhart had been killed in a car accident.

so take this for what it's worth, but i thought it was worth sharing...

i work for a radio station here in chicago & as we were talking about the woodfield lockdown...somebody texted in asking why nobody was talking about peavy being in chicago 2day. i was obviously curious about that so i asked how they knew he was in town for a FACT and this was the response i got:

"I work at the airport for the airlines and I actually spoke to him and got an autograph - he wouldn't say much though - he did say again he would like to play here...I mentioned about having the new owner and he sounded upbeat about the fact that I said that Chicago would love to have him ! He also said he thought he would not be recognized here - NOT ! "

again, take this for what it's worth (could be a lie) but can anybody confirm or deny that peavy was or was not in chicago 2day?????

i know there has already been an official dempster apology fanpost & some of you even mentioned soriano in that....but this man NEEDS his own fanpost since 90% of this community has been bashing him up until recently!!!!

Johnson in the 2 hole???

after watching 2day's game, it finally hit me:

IF we're keeping soriano as our lead-off hitter (which appears to be the case) then reed johnson seems to be a great solution in the 2 hole which would then allow us to keep fukudome in the 5 hole where he seems to be VERY comfortable!!!

i've thought all along that pie finally needs a shot & i guess i still believe that BUT 2day's lineup sure looked good against one of the better pitchers in the league.

thoughts????????

glad you guys found this remix i did ... let me explain a few things about why i did it. (responding to the comments i read in a previous diary)

a) i am a DIE-HARD cubs fan / season ticket holder who actually has posted on here a few times before, i def enjoy this website.

b) i do work for B96 & talk about my cubbies as much as my bosses allow me too...and not just this year when they've been good! the reaction from our audience has been absolutely HUGE on this remix!

c) i have & will make NOOOOOO money from this song whatsoever! we are about to offer it as a totally free download once the cubbies clinch.

as a lifelong cubs fan who really does "bleedcubbieblue" i thought it be great to update this song for the younger generation of cubs fans!!! i love the original too, (that's why we kept the remix pretty true to the original) but i just wanted to update the lyrics a lil bit for OUR team this year!!!

for those who like it...thanx. for those who don't, it's all good. just know this has NOTHING to do with "tryin' to further my career" and EVERYTHING to do with making our B96 radio audience as excited for the Cubs as everybody on this site is!!! :)
