Butler embracing the catch-shoot/quick move over the ball-stopping
"This was a big week for us," Kidd said. "It's a big four wins, especially on back-to-backs. ... We've been telling [Butler] to just catch and shoot and take that first one, and then go into your tricks and the game will be a lot easier for him. Tonight, we went to him and he delivered."
-- I'm happy for Tough Juice, hope he, as well as the rest of that former Wizards core, continues to see success.
Haywood Alludes to Playing Time Issues That Weighed down the Wiz
"I'm not fighting for minutes," Haywood said after Monday's practice. "We're fighting for a championship.
"Losing teams have competitions between players for playing time. That's what we were doing in D.C. That's losing basketball. We're competing to win a championship. It comes down to, if I'm bringing it, [Dampier's] going to support me. If he's bringing it, I'm going to support him."

Wish them all the best
McDyess gone
The fact that McDyess signs a 3 yr 15 mil deal with San Antonio tells me that he thinks they are still contenders. I think a problem in this league is the Wizards, who are not budging on the idea that their core will lead them to deep playoff success, are not considered contenders by the general NBA public. 3 yrs at 15 would've been a good deal, and make him somewhat tradeable in the future for the value he adds to any team, or buyoutability.
Potential Picks
I know its selfish to put something like this out there. But I'd be interested to see what some of the BF members' short lists are for the #5 pick... (Assume we draft and sign).
I'd go with:
1. Demar Derozan
2. Terrence Williams (Great Pierc-ish size and all around game)
3. Jonny Flynn (seems tougher and more of a winner than stephen curry, 40" vertical doesn't hurt his potential...can flourish as a backup PG)
4. Jordan Hill (if available)
5. Gerald Henderson (I see his jumper getting better, his athleticism has shown no ceiling)
6. Austin Daye /Earl Clark (but we'd have to get rid of blatche)
Robert Dozier
Does anyone know if Robert Dozier out of Memphis is in the NBA Draft? He might be a nice fit for the wizards. I don't want us to fall intot he trap of drafting James Harden, who reminds me too much of The Rock, Mitch RIchmond, nor do I want us to pick up an undersized big man in Dejuan Blair.
I think Dozier would be a nice pick up, a skilled, strong tall big man. Thoughts?
Brendan Haywood's Wrist Injury
So Maybe its not even worth fleshing out.... but how is he out for a whole year with wrist surgery? It says he had a torn ligament. Was this a freak injury? Or was this the result of continued stress/impact? Anyone with more detail please elaborate/explain... I'm just trying to make sense of this season, and bracing myself for the realistic possibility that we don't get the #1 pick / Blake Griffin.
