Sometimes I feel the need to explain myself for the weird team choices you see over there. So, here goes an attempt at doing so...

I was born and am currently in the process of being raised in Seattle, so that should explain most of the Seattle selections. However, it also brings up the question of "Why WSU?" The simple answer, one that kind of scratches the surface of truth, is that my dad grew up in Richland, WA, and went to WSU for a year (He also went to UW, but that was more of a night-class kind of deal), so I've been slightly indoctrinated to lean that way. However, this is not to say that I'm not a Husky fan, because I most definitely am, and actually found myself rooting for them in the most recent Apple Cup since they had a shot at getting to a bowl game and the Cougs did not. The Gonzaga choice is much simpler: I'm a student there.

I root for the Canucks if they make the playoffs, and even then I don't watch fervently. I'm not much of a hockey fan, but I do enjoy watching it on occasion.

I'm a Mark Martin fan for several reasons, probably the biggest one being that his name happens to be a hybrid of my dad's and my own. Other than that, he's just in general a really classy guy (I hate Kyle Busch with a passion).

I'm an extremely loose AC Milan fan, since I played as a striker with them for a full season in FIFA '08. I've never watched an actual AC Milan game, so I probably am insulting at least a few ultras by having their name in my profile.

It's time for drastic action.

In baseball, when a manager disagrees with a call, he has the chance to run out to the man who made it and yell at him for anywhere from thirty seconds to ten minutes. In basketball, a coach can...

WPS officially calls it quits

Now the question becomes which other league will become the new highest league in the system, and whether the Sounders Women will be involved.

After this trade, I think we all need a bit of a pick-me-up.

Real Salt Lake, and home field advantage in MLS

We all know the superiority of Points Per Match over pure points in a season set up the way MLS set up the 2011 season. For example, while Real Salt Lake is fourth in the overall table, they're...

Ladies and gentlemen, I know the solution to our DH problem.

We all know Justin Smoak can hit. He leads the Mariners in both HRs and RBIs (granted, he's tied with Olivo in the former), and has slashes at .243/.345/.449. The interesting thing about Smoak,...

Kansas St eeks by Presbyterian

Kansas St. just barely got by a last-place Big South team. Does this have any implications for Monday? At the very least, Mark Few might be able to look at Presbyterian's defense and see what held up Kansas St so much.
