Playoff prediction
I was reading on Yahoo, and they had playoff predictions. Here is mine.
Thoughts
"Calgary Flames: This happened Friday afternoon, but it's the best thing that's happened to the Flames in a while: Ales Kotalik(notes) got shipped to the AHL because he is really quite terrible. " I saw that on What We Learned on the Yahoo NHL blog. My first thought was "Hahahaha so glad we got rid of him!"
I also noticed that Zach Parise might be going to get traded, as the Devils are trying to free up cap space. What would you guys think if that rumour were true? I think he would be a great addition. but who would we need to trade? and who would we have to trade? His salary last year was $5,000,000, his cap hit was $3,125,000.
"New Jersey Devils: Here's some absolute garbage from Bruce Garrioch -0 The Devs might trade Zach Parise because of cap constraints. Because the one guy you wanna get rid of at a time like this is the 26-year-old one who puts up like 85 or 90 points a year and plays defense like a checking-line center."~What We Learned, Yahoo! Sports NHL
Seeing as the Devils may be trying to get rid of him, I would like to see Parise in the Blue & Gold. Trading might be hard, as Buffalo's "tradeables" have similar salaries for less skill. Unless we wanted to trade someone good (especially Myers, with the low salary) I doubt we could acquire Parise.
Who do you think we could trade? Who do you think the Devils would take? Would it be worth it? Would you want Parise? What number would he end up with?
Also, the two worst goalscorers in the league are Todd Marchant from Anaheim and Mike Lundin of Tampa, each with 51 games, 0 goals.
Awful...
I only caught the highlights, but that Islanders game was AWFUL. The only highlight was Gerbe. He appeared to be the only Sabre actually trying. Especially on the empty net goal. The Islanders HAD FULL CONTROL OF THE PUCK WHEN THE SABRES WERE A MAN UP!!!! Lalime did not appear to be at fault for either goal, Sekera looked lost on the first one after Miller was pulled.
Buffalo seems to only be able to play well for 1-2 games in a row. Boston was a fairly good game, I was able to watch the whole game because it was on Yahoo. Before that, Buffalo beat Montreal in OT. Then, they pull a piece of crap performance out. WOW. WE NEED CONSISTENCY! Why can they not seem to try hard every night? I would think that if you could play a game for your job you'd want to work hard and have fun. I play hockey and that's how I feel. Whenever someone is obviously not trying, it seriously annoys me. Same goes for watching.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGHHH!!!! Alright, I got my feelings out. Thanks for reading.
Interesting Penalty in the Pens-Sabres Game
In the recent loss to the Pens, I noticed that Mike Weber (I think) punched Sidney the Kidney right in the face. Weber got a penalty. However, Sidney the Kidney punched him first. Crosby did not get a penalty. Weber did. So Crosby started the tussle, Weber punched him three times in the face, Weber got a penalty. Why did that work that way? Was it because Crosby is "untouchable"? Or is it just because the ref didn't see the first punch, which was thrown by Crosby. Either way, it was fun watching Sidney Crosby get punched when he very much so deserved it. If it was not Mike Weber, please let me know. I just thought it might stir up some conversations.

Interesting Yahoo! Comment About the Salary Cap
I saw this comment on an article about the salary cap. It is from Yahoo! user Angel.
Kaleta threw a bunch of lefts and destroyed Dorsett. Sorry the video is a little washed out, it's what I found on YouTube. The sound is a little wierd too.
Bring Back Mair
Are there contract talks going on with Adam Mair? We need to sign him back, he ads a lot of grit to the team, as well as playing with a lot of heart.
What about Plekanec?
He only makes 2,750,000 a year, he's an FA as of this offseason, and he had 70 points last year.
Sabres Vs. Wild
Last night was awful. Tim Connolly has had two REALLY BAD turnovers lately (one vs Philly, one last night), LaLime made an absolutely awful decision with the puck, and they just seemed pretty lackluster last night. Hopefully, the PP will get better soon, seeing as Vanek has been playing quite well lately. I did not get to see the full game, just the highlights, but Myers was not noticeable that game, and someone (Montador? I saw a four, I thought.) looked like they needed to get their skates sharpened. Good third period attempted comeback, but still, if LaLime was playing like normal he would not have made that mistake handling the puck that made it 2-0.
Fan Thinking Process
Hi! I am new to DBTB, but have been blogging for about a year.
I was realizing that we Sabres fans seem to not really think about the season as a whole, mostly just the fact that "WE SUCK RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!". If you think about it, this has overall been a very good season for the Sabres, but everyone is going "SHOOT, WE SUCK, WHO DO WE TRADE?????????????" but this year's Sabres have really gotten a lot better than last year's Sabres. I mean, six bad games and everyone goes "OH NO WE SUCK WE ARE GONNA FINISH LAST OR SOMETHING BECAUSE WE ACTUALLY LOST FOR ONCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", so I think that most of us are just panicking that is all. I am panicking too, but if you look past the panic and think about the rest of the season, it has been very good to us. Earlier on, people were going "This feels like the year for Buffalo to win the cup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". Look at us now. Winning again!
