As incoherent as a GD called game
I apologize in advance for the choppiness of this post, but I feel like I need to get some things off my chest.
First: My TV lies to me. It’s not a Samsung; maybe that’s the problem? But seriously, it lies to me. Today it told me (via ESPN) that the 4 home losses this year are more than the amount of home losses in the last ten years combined. That just cannot be true!
Second: People are starting to show pity on me for my allegiance to the Longhorns. Last night I had to get the 1-day pass on Comcast to watch the game. I call and while talking with the customer service guy he asks what team I am rooting for. I say “Texas, “ he chuckles says sorry for the season, and then comps me the game. Sad.
Third: I am an addict. I think just about all of us here are. I am not addicted to any drug, just Texas Football. However, addiction is addiction, it is all bad. I don’t care. Maybe when the DSM V comes out in May 2013 football addiction will be listed so I can sue someone.
Fourth: The VA allows veterans to “service connect” injuries while in service. They then can file for disability benefits. Given this model, I think we all should file PTSD claims to UT. Maybe we can get a % of wages lost do to our suffering.
Lastly: The only other thing that I can think of relating to UT that has been a bigger failure than this season is when a friend and I decided to start selling T-shirts. I will not mention the name of said friend(to protect the guilty.) However, we had a “brilliant” idea back in ’04 when I think BON was still All Things Longhorns. We had two versions: 1) An anti-A&M shirt where lassie was kissing a corps of cadet and, 2) the who’s next shirt that had wall mounts with two blank. The spots were either for OU or Mack. Needless to say the idea was a HUGE FAILURE. I think we sold one shirt. Whoever bought it was a bigger idiot than we were.
Too funny, as I finish: the tease on ESPN, “OSU’s 12 years of frustration against the Longhorns. Is it going to end?” – Yes, Yes, it did.
