Also, Westbrook was hurt for a portion of the year which jacks up Reggie Jackson's shot attempts

Reggie Jackson is their 4th offensive option

I'm not contradicting anything

Batum plays with the starters more than the bench players I listed

You are asking for 5-7 additional shots per game and comparing Batum to players like Rudy Gay and Paul George without taking role or context into account

Most of those shots will go to Kaman, an offensive post presence we didn't have last year who warrants more shots than Freeland

If he forces his increased production at the expense of the team and our better offensive players we will get worse

We already do that though

Naw, there's plenty more

The obvious answer is because Nic is not as good of a scorer as Dame and doesn't warrant getting the same number of shots

If Batum took 5-7 more shots per game he'd be getting as many or more shots than Damian Lillard

That their respective roles haven't been all that different

I'm not saying Batum couldn't or shouldn't have a couple more FGA per game. He clearly passes on scoring opportunities on occasion.

Like I said, their usages were essentially identical two seasons ago

I would also prefer they be viewed as a duo
Commented on Portland Trail Blazers: Is LaMarcus Aldridge or Damian Lillard the Face of the Franchise? on Jul 31 2014, 11:16a
Batum and Parsons had near identical usage last season

You can absolutely be consistently inefficient

Parsons doesn't have to take those shots

If you think Rudy Gay is an efficient player and that's why he gets all those shots I have a gorgeous bridge in Portland to sell you

All I'm saying is that the comment I blockquoted is unfounded and speculative

Without being able to gauge the alternative we may have Nic's acumen and versatility to thank for being where we are and not worse

You can't look at it without context in one line and then within a team context in the next

I think he's absolutely a driving reason
