Christmas Pajam...I mean Uniforms Unveiled

Sleeves. Gray-scale logos. No numbers on the front. I don't understand where the push for this kind of uniform is coming from.

Blazersedge Court - Case #1: The Myth of Faried!

Let's settle this once and for all: Did the Portland Trail Blazers pass on drafting Kenneth Faried because it was an unstated part of the Raymond Felton trade?

Lebron's Inbox -- My brother emailed this to me and I thought the Blazersedge community would enjoy it. Read carefully, it's really well done and there are a lot of great jokes. Debate the best in the comments. Link to larger version: http://totalfratmove.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/9f96cdc8a6d833fce8bbacaf32d6fe28617664074.jpeg

Kyrie dazzles at team USA practice

7

This isn't directly Blazer related, but it sure is dope. In one trip down the court he crosses up Kobe, crosses up Durant, puts Harden through the spin cycle, and then goes silly And 1 style. In a separate GIF you can see him cross up Russell Westbrook and get an easy look against Melo (granted, not the most impressive thing on the list). If anyone still doubts this kid's talent I would hope that's all been put to bed (he still pops up in a trade proposal now and again). Let's hope that Dame Lill brings just a modicum of these skills to the Blazer PG position. Kyrie may very well end up being the best Dukie NBA player if he stays on his current trajectory.

Poll: Who falls to #6?

Seems like there's a lot up in the air with regards to the #6 slot in this draft. Accurate or not, a consensus has formed that indicates a tier of players that ends in precisely that spot. ...

The beautiful flip side! And this time it's our boy Ray Ray making a very unsurprising cameo. This is for the 2011-2012 season. Note that Danny Granger, the best shooter in the NBA two slots closer to the center of the court, is actually the worst from this spot.

Shooting percentages as they apply to certain areas of the court. Note who one of the best shooters in the NBA from the wing is. Check out the guy dominating under the hoop as well. Pretty impressive for a 6'9'' guy.

Deadspin v. Steve Kerr: The Minimum Age Requirement Debate

4

Steve Kerr writes long defense of NBA age requirement in Grantland, makes argument it should be raised to 20. Deadspin does real journalism (which they actually do on occassion) and refutes. Wanted to post this because it's a topic we had touched on in recent threads.

Rondo being awesome - this was on Deadspin today, this is Rajon putting a little twist on every controlled tip-off the Celtics have had this season. Some of them are pretty sweet. The idea in general is cool although insignificant. Hard for me not to like Rondo though.

SBNation Ultimate Sports GIF Tournament

19

I stumbled across this GIF tournament put on by SB Nation. It is spectacular. The link is to the championship matchup and you can work backwards if you want to see the GIFs that didn't make it to the final round (including "Runaway Utility Cart," "Favre gets hit in dong," "Bruce Bowen Flying Kick," etc...) There are some real gems here...dare I say some true works of art. I really enjoyed checking these out and I'm sure you guys will to. I have a lot of favorites but "Roller Blading Raptors Mascot" is the champ in my book. Scroll down on the championship matchup page and check out the amazing comment with almost 100 recs.

Nice little tribute to BRoy and his "perfect stepback" on Deadspin

Not a huge tribute, but nice to see them give BRoy some respect. Seems like the story of Brandon's retirement has gone largely under the radar.

Chuckwagon to sign with SAC for deal that mirrors full MLE

Canzano is also tweeting that the Blazers will use the amnesty on Roy to get benefits immediately, but obviously Chuck Hayes for the full MLE is no longer an option. Deal reported as 4 yrs, 21.3 mil

Reason to hope Kemba could drop all the way to #21?

David Aldridge, in his first ever mock draft attempt (apparently he hates them), has Kemba Walker dropping all the way into the Blazers' lap.

Trade Drawer: Bucher on 1080 (Nelson/Bass), Cho vs. PA

When the Blazers started talks on Roy’s contract extension in the summer of 2009, franchise owner...

9

When the Blazers started talks on Roy’s contract extension in the summer of 2009, franchise owner Paul Allen pushed for multiple contingencies to protect the organization. Nevertheless, then-GM Kevin Pritchard couldn’t handle the criticism in the Portland public and media, and eventually caved with an $82 million extension with only limited non-guaranteed money in the contract’s final year. The Blazers should’ve challenged Roy to try restricted free agency, but they didn’t have the stomach to fight that PR battle. The beginning of the end for Pritchard came during Roy talks, sources say. Ownership felt he had undermined them with Roy and his reps, and that Pritchard didn’t back up their tough initial starting point in the talks. Before Roy’s extension was done, Pritchard was largely taken out of the discussions, and Blazers president Larry Miller started to gain control of basketball operations. Pritchard never recovered within the organization.

1994 Chicago Bulls

Very interesting take on the '94 Bulls...who won 55 games (2 less than in 1993) during MJ's one year hiatus. This, of course, is all related to the Lebron "path of least resistance" debate, but it stands on its own as well. I found it fascinating and thought you might too.
