I just read that on Oregonlive.com The blurb said that he's our 15th and final roster spot heading into camp. I think that's very cool! I loved him at Oregon and sure wish his toughness and drive works in the NBA eventually! I don't think he's going to see much PT come regular season, but he could definitely come in handy if we need a quick 3 at some point and it'll be fun to see him in mop up time.

let me clarify my statement about a picture of kids getting blazers tix from B.E.

I made a comment about donating for kids to get tickets to a blazers home game courtesy of BlazersEdge. Ben made a reply about it not being a marketing ploy and i'd like to clarify that i'm totally in agreement with that. My purpose of the comment is because I'd love nothing more than to see the smiling faces of the kids enjoying the experience! I'm just tired of seeing ungrateful kids get things, no matter how big or small, and just not appreciating them.

That said, I'll still donate for kids to go to the game either way, but I'd really love to see a photo of said event.

Thanks for "listening"!

I heard this one on the radio down here in San Diego on "Hacksaws Headlines". I guess Barbosa is the subject of several rumors. I'm not entirely sure of what to think of a move like this though. On the surface it looks good, but I don't know nearly as much about Barbosa as I do about Webster to make a real informed decision. I know that D'Antoni really has a hard on for him and wants him in New York badly...

I get to hear about what a great character guy Brandon is all the time, but I rarely get to see (hear) it first hand. This morning I got the chance when I was surprised that he was going to be on the local morning talk show I listen to (Dave and Jeff on xtra sports 1360 www.xtrasports1360.com). They had him on talking about one of the charity promotions he is doing and, man, what a class act. Even when one of the DJ's who's an admitted T-Wolves fan since he grew up in MN was asking him about if he likes to stick it to the T-Wolves when they play he just took it all in stride. Their impressions after he hung up the phone with him was just simply "wow". They left having the utmost respect for Brandon, the city of Portland, and the Trailblazers organization. Man that guy is awesome. I'm absolutely giddy about our future as a franchise!!

This is just a quick note for Dave, thought it'd make you feel good.

I was standing in line at starbucks(keep in mind i'm in San Diego too) and a guy approached me and told me he liked my t-shirt. I'm wearing the Cult of KP t-shirt i got from you. He said it was totally cool and he wanted one, and wanted to know where he could get one or have one made. SO, i told him to follow the link to the web page and drop you a line and you'd fill him in on the info!

One more blazer fan recruited...or at least one more t-shirt sold if he follows through.

Kudos dave!

As i'm getting my stuff together, ready to make the drive through the desert, i'm wondering how many blazers fans are showing their support thus far at the summer league? Better yet, how many faithful fans for Blazers Edge are out there making their presence known?

Dave, did you remember to bring the Blazers Edge T-Shirts?

Ken, are we still on for dinner on Friday night? Could you post the name and address of the restaurant again so i don't have to go trudging through old diaries/posts to find it?

I can't wait to get out there Friday night. I think i'm going to take in some of the WSoP Main Event while not watching some basketball. Should be a fun weekend!

I've gotten the green light from the wife! So, i'm driving up there for a couple of nights at least. I saw somewhere, but can't find it now of course, that Ken is throwing a BlazersEdge "meet and greet/party/dinner" at a place in Vegas on the 13th. I'd like to get there for that but need more details! Who else is going?

Was Dallas losing really a "shock"?

I'm tired of hearing what a tremendous upset this series was. I can't believe everyone had Golden State as such huge underdogs going in. Sure, Dallas has hands down the more talented players. But, what you really had to look at, and what the real difference in the series, was the coaching. Anyone remember who coached the Mavs before Avery took over? Now, can you remember who is the coach of the Warriors at this point in time? You got it. Same person. Good ol Don Nelson. He practically assembled the team that Dallas has, so who should know their strengths and weaknesses better than he? He is a good enough coach to understand how to exploit the weaknesses in his opponents, especially when he spent so much time with the nucleus of that team.

So, was the early exit by Dallas surprising?
Slightly.

Was it "shocking" or "the biggest upset ever"?
Hardly.

Why Clyde, Why? Why must you degrade yourself to be on some 2-bit reality show? You USED to be my favorite player of all time, but going on and doing something like this really tarnishes all of that. I hang my head in sorrow on such a dark day in Clyde's legacy. Back out before it's too late Clyde!!!

Some high praise from a peer:

"They came out and gave the ball to Zach Randolph, and he did what all franchise players do in this league. He delivered," Memphis guard Chucky Atkins said.

I think that's high praise to come from a peer. If the media doesn't respect him, nor do half of our fans, it's nice to know that at least he garners respect from those who play with/against him. Kudos Zach.

later in that article I had a good laugh. Evidently the 40 shots were the highest in team history. He acted like he didn't know how many he shot and when told he said something like "when you are in a zone you don't realize how much you shoot"...16 of 40 is "in the zone" Really? Since when? I thought I was "in the zone" when i shot 15 for 20. And i play outside the paint...16 for 40...really?
