The Dream Shake Trade Deadline Poll

Each option has the centerpiece of the trade along with the other players to match the salaries. Again these are the main rumors that we've been hearing, but there might be others that have been talked about. Players in the trades that aren't the centerpiece are subject to change and therefore could affect the outcome of the overall vote.

What will our GM Daryl Morey decide to do? Or maybe nothing gets done? Get your vote in!!!

The Dream Shake Trade Idea: Shane Battier for J.R. Smith

I heard this trade idea the other day and the more I think about the more I like it.

We all know about our struggles on offense and Denver seems to be looking for help on defense...

Here are my pro thoughts:

1- Smith brings GREAT offensive skills

2- Smith would play SG (IMO our most pressing need)

3- Smith is only 24

4- Smith is currently a bench player in Denver and would certainly love a starting job.

Here are my con thoughts:

1- We lose Battier (enough said)

2- There have been questions regarding Smith's off-the-field issues, would he fit in here in H-Town?

I think there are more pro's than con's, plus he we still have T-Mac as a bargaining chip to help the team elsewhere.

I personally doubt that DM would ever consider this trade, but I for one like it as long as Smith keeps his act together

Thoughts?

The Dream Shake After trading for Andersen...What's the next move?

GM Morey recently mentioned that the Rockets would be doing two things:

1) Acquire a Center via trade - CHECK = David Andersen

2) That he was "targeting" another Free Agent & that an announcement would likely come with a week or two.

Its been about a week since Morey said those things & now that he's acquired the center, I'm curious to see who he has in mind for the Free Agent? Personally I have no idea...I'm just hoping its a SG...Heck for all we know Von Wafer could be the target?

Do any of you guys know anything on this subject? Who he might go after? I've tried to look into this, but haven't found anything or anyone worth mentioning...

Believe it or not with the acquisition of Andersen, I now want to trade for Amare even more now. Don't know if this will happen or if its even feasible, but if Amare & Richardson come on board & in return we give up McGrady,Landry & 1st round or Scola...not sure the numbers match (I'll look into that)

Can you imagine this fast-paced Adelman offensive team?

Brooks, Richardson,Ariza,Amare,Andersen

and off the bench: Scola,Battier,Lowry,White,Hayes,Dorsey,Taylor,Budinger

We could contend this year with this team, plus still have Yao when he returns...OK I'll STOP dreaming now!!!

The Dream Shake David Andersen - Center Option

Its been well documented that the Rox will be targeting a center & most probably via trade as GM Morey mentioned recently at the Trevor Ariza press conference.

A bunch of names have surfaced since FA started with Gortat & then a host of other options...

Honesly at this stage IMO the best option that we have to be competitive & not  tank the year, would be this guy David Andersen...He currently plays overseas in Spain for Barcelona. The Hawks own his rights here in the NBA, but with their recent signings of Bibby & more specifically Zaza, its seems that they don't have the money to sign him.

Here is an link from a Hawks forum stating that they offered him a contract & he refused it & has asked the Hawks to trade his rights. Whats interesting is that they CLEARLY mention the Rockets as the main possibility.Text is in Spanish & then translated into English, I can confirm that the translation is correct.

Hawks Forum

He is the "mobile center" the Rockets are looking for, the only downside that I really see in him is his age (29).

Here's a YouTube link from Mr. Andersen...7'0'' 250 lbs (29 years old)

David Andersen

Don't know, but I'm guessing a 2nd round pick + plus cash would get this done with the Hawks. The good news that is mentioned in the article is that Andersen has until July 15th to inform his current team (Barcelona) if he's leaving to play for the NBA this year. Which means that if the Rockets are going to trade for him, we should know in the next coulpe of days at the latest...

The Dream Shake Warriors vs Rockets - Summer League

I'm currently watching the game its 19-18 after the 1st in favor of the Warriors.

So far the man of the match in Randolph for the Warriors, what a player...

For the Rockets, White looks like a scorer, Dorsey a rebounding machine & Budinger can hit 3's...

Still haven't seen Jermaine Taylor...Rockets coaches seem to be high on Gary Temple....

Newly & Leunen are simply playing like crap...

I'll keep you posted...

The Dream Shake Rockets/Suns/Blazers Trade Rumor

[Editor's Note:  While I don't think this trade will happen (it's still appreciated info), there is a lot of good conversation going on in the comments.  Keep it up.  -- Lee]

Rumor was heard on 610 radio and they said it was from a credible source and the Rockets had discussed this trade with other GMs involved.

Houston Trades: Tracy McGrady, Carl Landry and Shane Battier
Gets: Amare Stoudemire and Jason Richardson

Phoenix Trades: Amare Stoudemire and Jason Richardson
Gets: Tracy McGrady, Carl Landry and Rudy Fernandez

Portland Trades: Rudy Fernandez
Gets: Shane Battier

What are your thoughts on this trade? I actually sort of like it. Although I wouldn't mind trading Battier directly to Portland for Rudy...

The Dream Shake Rockets use Disabled Player Exception

Here is the link

http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/sports/nba/090708_rockets_ariza_yao

Rox have used this option to cover Trevor Ariza's contract; This means the Rockets still have the full MLE!!!

Now GM Morey can use this to look for another scoring option or that starting center...

The bad news is that Zaza recently just re-signed with the Hawks, so Morey will need to find another option at center.

Ok I got nothing more to say, but as usual this 75 words rule is simply dumb, Can someone please remove it?

The Dream Shake Morey's Post-Draft Press Conference

Hey Guys,

I just say the press conference that GM Morey did after the draft & my first impression is that he COMPLETELY depressed or unsatisfied with the draft. Seems to me like the Rockets really wanted Rubio or to move up and simply got rejected by the other teams. I really like Jermaine Taylor's upside.

Any chance that Morey uses some of these picks & ships them to another team, like last year with Artest?

The Dream Shake 2009 Draft Question

Do we have a draft pick in the upcoming draft?

I know that we traded away our 1st rounder in the Artest deal, but I also thought that the 2nd rounder, was traded away, but now I person told me that we actually have the Memphis pick which I believe is 4th or 5th in the 2nd round.

Hopefully this is true, so that maybe we can pick-up a back-up center for Deke, who will be retiring after this season.

Help?
