Titans release Blount
He may have issues, but I thought Blount looked good in the preseason.
Broncos Depth Chart
I found this this morning and thought it very interesting.
RAIDER SIGN FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICK ROLANDO MCLAIN...TALKS BETWEEN BRONCOS AND TEBOW BROKE OFF LATE WEDNESDAY.
NFL NETWORK
So Suh me!
This is an exciting time to be a Bronco fan. This is were fantasy and reality collide to form mock drafts. Eventhough I would be dissapointed with losing Marshall, I understand it could be best for both parties. That being said, I have been thinking/dreaming of a scenario that I'd like to share with the fine folks here at MHR. I think we should try to trade Brandon to Tampa Bay in exchange for their first round pick. Then bundle the #11and #3 picks and trade them for the Ram's #1 pick. And with the first pick in the 2010 draft, the Denver Broncos take...Ndamukong Suh!
Please stay with me, my lunacy knows no bounds. In the second round the tag team champions McDaniels and Xanders pluck Mount Cody from the free fall in the second round. Imagine the possibilites!
How many creative leaps of faith have there been in the NFL? The Broncos went out on a limb and caught lighting in a bottle in 83'. Ditka traded his entire draft for a Heisman trophy winner. Isn't it about time the Broncos shake it up a little?
I watched Suh solidify himself at the Combine. I watched him destroy Texas in the Big 12 championship and I've seen him dominate my alma mater in the Holiday bowl. In everyone of those occasions he's had that steel eyed look only reserved for psychopaths and football champions. Add in Cody as the NT and I think you'd have the makings of a dominate defense for years to come. Think of the possible D-line: Ayers, Suh, Cody, Thomas, and Dumervil. Who would you double team?
I understand the fantastic nature of this, but I found it very interesting to consider. What do you think? I thought it would be exciting to hear everyone's opinion so Suh me!
Go Broncos!

The Pro Football Weekly Curse
I know about the SI curse, the Babe Ruth curse, and the John Madden curse, but I had never heard of the Pro Football Weekly curse. After a well documented off season, the Denver Broncos are getting some well deserved press. Daniel Graham was on the cover of SI and last week Kyle Orton was on the cover of PFW. I'm glad the Broncos are getting respect (even after a tough loss in Baltimore). IMHO the Broncos performance was the exception not the rule. In fact I'm willing to chalk that loss up to a curse. I know that players are more often spotlighted on the Sunny Side, but I'm hoping that the artist formerly known as Broncobear can give us some insight into how McDaniels former teams and NFL teams in general respond to losses like yesterdays. It's good to see everyone using their real names, but does anyone else feel like they did when KISS stopped wearing their makeup? Ok maybe its just me.
Three down and two to go!!
Our friends at ESPN are reporting that the Denver Broncos have signed three of their remaining five draft picks.
http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afcwest/0-3-2473/Denver-signs-three-draft-picks.html
They came to agreements with Bruton, Mcbath, and Brandstater. That leaves only Ayers and Moreno, for those of you keeping score at home!
Even though it looks like they might not make it in on Monday, Moreno and Ayers IMHO should make it in by the 30th.
The X -man has been putting in some overtime! I love the smell of signed contracts in the morning!
Go Broncos!!!
Quinn agrees to terms
According to our friends at ESPN Richard Quinn has agreed to contract terms. Here's the link: http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afcwest/0-3-2457/denver-agrees-to-terms-with-second-round-pick.html
With McKinley and Quinn in the fold we have seven to go. My anxiety is easing a little, but I'll be much happier when Alphonso, Ayers and Moreno are under contract.
I'm drinking the kool-aide this is only the begining of an exciting 2009 season!
Go Broncos!!!
2009 rookies...anyone?
I have to admit I'm getting a little anxious. I see where many other teams are signing their rookie classes quickly. Even the Begels have half their class signed. When are we going to start signing our remaining draft choices? Has anyone heard of any progress being made on that front? I'd like to see EVERYONE there starting on the 27th (& vets the 31st). WE certainly don't need any holdouts, rookie or otherwise at training camp. IMHO that would start another MSM firestorm. I'm not afraid of the publicity, but it sure would be nice if the reporters could go hang out in Oakland or San Diego and spread lies about those organizations for a while. I'm tired of them stinking up the joint!

2009 Broncos or 1972 Dolphins?
I just recently had surgery to reattach my bicep tendon(similar to Favre) and was fortunate enough to catch the America' s Game marathon on NFLN. IMHO these episodes are great television no matter the team they highlight.. I was watching the 72' and 73' Dolphins and I was struck with a few similarities to the 09' Broncos. Before anyone starts laughing, just hear me out.
First, the Dolphins believed in the team and winning as a team. They had HOF players on the team, but their personal achievements were nothing if the the team failed. Isn't this the same attitude tah McDaniels has brought with him? It's not about the individual, its about coming together and winning as a team.
Second, the Dolphins had a great power running game with Czonka, Kick and Morris. They all knew their role on the team and accepted it knowing that it was best for the team. Doesn't that sound like Hillis, Moerno, Buckhalter and Jordan? All accepting their role for the benefit of the team.
Third, the Dolphins had equally unselfish quarterbacks in Griese and Morell. Neither put up great numbers, but they were effecient and accurate when called upon. All indications are that Orton and Simms are going to be great game managers and stay within the McDaniels scheme, because it's best for the team.
Fourth, the Dolphins had a great offensive line that opened the holes for the running backs and protected the quarterbacks with equal vigor. No matter how little love we get from the MSM, our offensive line is one of the best in the league and this year we've added depth.
Finally, what about the defenses? The 72' and73' Dolphins had a defense that was full of 'no names'. Again, it wasn't about individual achievement it was about helping the team. The Broncos have a few recognizable names but on the whole they're a unit that is lacking the respect of both the NFL and the MSM. If they can "just do their own jobs" as B. Dawkins has said, then they too can come together and win as a unit and as a team.
I'm not saying that were going to go undefeated, we'll win the Super Bowl, or that we're as good as the 72' or 73' Dolphins. What I am saying is that McDaniels has brought a new attitude to Denver. A team first mentality that has a history of winning in the NFL. I for one am excited for the upcoming training camp and the 2009 Bronco season. I think we have alot to look forward to. Thank you to all the members of MHR for all the great information and positive comments. This is truly an oasis in a sea of ignorance.

The best news of the day!!
I'm sure many of you may have heard this, but for those that have not, Tony Kornheiser will not be on Monday Night Football anymore. He will be replaced by John Gruden. I have a feeling Gruden will be good, so for me this means I no longer have to leave the mute button on the whole game, but I'm wondering how the rest of the MHR nation feels about it. Its too bad Madden is retired.
FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS PART 2
Is it better to be loved by them or bashed by them?
Almost every magazine, paper, or website has an opinion on the Broncos off season. Mostly negative. The article " The McDaniels Way" by Dan Parr in the latest issue of Pro Football Weekly does just that. In fact it includes a laundry list of items that he feels were "bizarre". "Rather than redeeming self on the big stage, make boneheaded decisions on Draft Day, most notably giving up No. 1 draft pick next year for second-rounder this year, and spend it on a 5-foot8-7/8 cornerback who isn't tall enough or fast enough to be a No. 1 corner."
If that doesn't get Mr. Smith motivated, nothing will. He goes on to talk about Moreno. "The Broncos could have used a defender more than a runner here, but Moerno is talented and will immediately become the team's No. 1 ballcarrier."
Isn't the whole idea of the draft to improve your team? Just a crazy thought. He goes on to say that the "the honeymoon period" has ended.
So that was the negative side of the MSM, but I can't end without a little bit of positive. In the May 11th issue of The Sporting News", they give all 32 teams a grade as weel as a grade for each pick. They gave the Broncos an"A" (the highest in the AFC West). Including A's for Moren, Ayers, And an A+ for Smith.
So I aske the great members of MHR, what is better: to be loved or bashed?
By the way I'm a long time writer, but a first time writer. I wanted to get this off my chest after reading other posts (and enjoying them). I also want to be one of the many to thank MHR for doing a great job in maintaining such a wonderful site. It certainly is an oasis in the MSM desert.
