The Rams are seeking a deal similar to what the San Diego Chargers got for the rights to 2004 top overall pick Eli Manning, sources said Monday.
Manning was selected by the Chargers with the No. 1 overall pick in 2004 and traded to the New York Giants for two first-round picks, a third-round pick and a fifth-round choice.

Schefter: Chiefs hire Brian Daboll as OC
Chiefs hired former Dolphins assistant Brian Daboll as their offensive coordinator.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) February 4, 2012
Bowe on ESPN Radio
Not sure if it means anything, but just heard him do a spot on Gottlieb Show. He spent the whole time talking about how we are primed for a good season next year and talking about what his next offensive coordinator will be like. Generally spoke as if he assumes he'll be with KC next year, didn't mention free agency one time.

I just can't shake the feeling that Brandon Carr won't be back. We have the cap space, I'd really like to see us pay the guy, our secondary will be something very special.

Visiting London in March, how to get tickets?
Hello everyone, I'm looking to visit in March and I'd like to catch Stoke City @ Chelsea on March 10, but as an uninformed Yank, I'm a little short on info about the best way to get tickets. Any help would be appreciated!

Former Chiefs Rookie Squad/Kentucky Wildcat TC Drake severely injured
I know him more from being a Kentucky fan, but hate to hear something like about anyone. Drunk driver got him.
Chiefs select - Jonathan Baldwin, WR PItt
"@ProFootballMgmt: Attention NFL teams, my client Tim Castille is a free agent now, and I will be calling!"
Walterfootball.com: Chiefs want to trade up for Julio Jones?
"Kansas City Chiefs: Leonard Hankerson, WR, Miami
I just learned that the Chiefs want to trade up for Julio Jones. I don't know if that'll be possible. If they can't get the Alabama wideout, they may target Leonard Hankerson in Round 2."
ESPN: Eric Berry among safe picks, who are the safe picks for 2011?
"So the Chiefs ended up looking smart by going against the grain of traditional thinking and executing a high-risk maneuver that made Berry, at No. 5, the earliest pick of a safety in NFL history. Smart for sure, but perhaps the risk in taking Berry was minimal. Maybe adding to a team's secondary is actually one of the safest investments an NFL team can make in the draft."
Check out this interesting story re: safe, albeit nontraditional picks in the draft.
What effect do we as fans actually have?
Maybe I'm missing something, but to me, it seems our role as fans has been a bit overstated in the context of the labor situation. You see both sides somewhat pandering to the public, but as Jerry Jones said, 97% of us have never been to a game. We know the sport isn't disappearing for good, the game is getting a good deal for each side. But in the short term, what does it really matter who we blame? If 95% of public blamed ownership, how would that in literal terms make a bit of a difference when it came to ending a standstill?
WR Mike Sims-Walker out in Jacksonville
Per his twitter account, Mike Sims-Walker is done with Jax. We all know he's a very capable receiver and he could potentially be a good fit here.

Neat story about Fitz/Haley for all of you guys with the pipe dream that we'll somehow land him.
WR Santana Moss contract to void, become FA
This according to ESPN. Would he be a good option for us?
What team do you admire most?
I am not here to suggest that I am lacking in my faith in the
Chiefs, nor have I decided to split up my fandom and actively support other teams. However, growing up in an area where you can count the number of KC fans on one hand, I had a lot of exposure to fans of other teams. What team, if any, have you come to admire?
Whether you like a few of their players, you respect their tradition, you think they're well organized, or maybe you just like their colors or mascot, leave comments about yours.
For me, I've always had a great deal of respect for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I grew up in a family of Steelers fans and generally will pull for them if they're not playing my Chiefs. I've always been impressed that the team can carry the personality of the Steel Curtain defense for decades, always being consistent, and this has payed off in the way of six Super Bowl wins and potentially a seventh. They emphasize character (hold the Big Ben jokes) and make decisions based on team, something I see us building towards here in KC.
ESPN Mock 2.0 - Chiefs take Mizzou DE
Kansas City
Record: 10-6
Aldon Smith, DE, Missouri Kansas City needs a pass-rusher opposite Tamba Hali and Smith is one of the more underrated players in this draft. He's a little undersized for a 4-3 end but is a perfect fit at outside linebacker in the Chiefs' 3-4 defense.
This one should go over well for the local KC fans.
Okay so maybe I'm just a grammar or spelling snob, but let's all take a second and review:
C H I E F S
The I goes before the E. There is no apostrophe, we aren't referring to something that a Chief owns. Be smart kids.

A light-hearted look at the Baltimore Ravens
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, dogs, cats, children and even our stray Raiders fans looking for something to watch this weekend, you all surely know by now that the Chiefs, AFC West Champions of the World of the Year, will face off against the bridesmaids of the AFC North, the Baltimore Ravens.
Now you may not know much about the Ravens. You may know a lot (if so, why aren't you writing this post?). I've decided to do the research for you, though and find out some important info about the team in purple. We already know that apparently, their defensive players are so effective because they are able to pilot gargantuan birds that shoot planet-obliterating lasers, but let's dive into the other details.

ESPN Insider: Kiper looks at Chiefs needs, is a tool
Kansas City Chiefs Top needs: C, WR, 3-4 DE, OLB
Pick strategy: The Chiefs got a lot out of their draft in 2010, and they can do so again, as this is a team that's close but still could use talent upgrades at some key spots. The Chiefs could be the team in best position among several here with needs along the interior of the offensive line to get Pouncey out of Florida. But they could also use some fresh legs on the other side of the formation from Dwayne Bowe. A good 3-4 DE opposite Tamba Hali would be ideal. If Nevis is still around into the 20s, the Chiefs could scoop him up.
Okay for real? A 3-4 DE? For one thing, Tamba Hali is an OLB in the 3-4, not a DE. And with Dorsey, Smith and TJax, I doubt we draft 3-4 DE highly any time soon. Get it right, Mel!
Jamaal Charles - Most dangerous back in 50 years
A few nice mentions from Peter King in MMQB
How did Arian Foster do today?
I know MJD was out and J Charles passed him up. Did our boy make up any ground on him? I don't think Jamaal will be tested too hard next week, just wondering.
Maurice Jones-Drew ruled OUT
With MJD missing the game this week, Jamaal Charles is poised to jump up another spot and claim this year's rushing title.

Some of these are pretty funny.
Confidence.
Matt Cassel is a completely different quarterback when he is playing with confidence. Last week, you could see it when adjustments were made in the second half. Today, you saw it from start to finish. Hopefully with two weeks to prepare, we can have a respectable showing at Indy. Houston is the one where Matt has the chance to shine.
The Houston secondary is turning every QB into a star. That’s a game where we can’t rely as much on our running game. If we end Houston 4-1, I’ll be ecstatic.
For example, Michael Vick had an average preseason, but when presented the opportunity and then the starting job, he has been able to gain the confidence and pocket presence he lacked even in Atlanta.
Note: My bad, probably is too short for a fanpost. I can do better. I will do better :P Will try to add a bit more meat.
