The Wizards are said to have an offer for Manu Ginobili on the table, but the details are not known. A deal that makes a lot of sense for both sides is a swap that consists of Mike James, Etan Thomas, the fifth pick in this year's draft, and Nick Young for Ginobili and Fabricio Oberto. Nick Young would provide the Spurs with the promising young shooting guard they tried to acquire in J.R. Smith and with the fifth pick they could go a number of different ways. Jordan Hill or DeMar DeRozan would look awfully nice in a Spurs' uniform.

All rumor, but we don't seem to give up too much to get Ginobli. As much as I love Nick Young, this is appealing, in hopes that Ginobli's injury isn't a reoccurring thing.

There will be quite a bit of discussion about what we should do with our team in the offseason. And there already has been here at BF.

So far the leaders in the poll are: McGee, Dom, & Nick

Obviously, everyone loves McGee. It's a shame he didn't get more PT. I'll post my initial thoughts in the comments.

To be honest, I want to lead the league in triple-doubles next season. I'm not gonna go out there and try to score 30. We have enough scorers on this team and I can dominate the game in other ways...
Next year, I'm trying to turn into a real point guard. Since, we didn't have a legit [shooting] guard, I took on the scoring mentality, especially in Eddie's system. Eddie's system was just two guard, two forwards and a center, it wasn't really no point guard, and no [shooting guard]... So, now we're coming into a regular system when I'm going to be the point guard, it's the my chance to really manage the team for the first time in my career...
Now, [Flip] is going to put the ball in my hands and just let me run the team.

Gilbert's Expectations and Personal Changes for Next Year

There is a lot of good stuff in here, especially when he's talking about all the media hype about him being uncoachable or uncontrollable. It's all BS, as I have said.

These quotes are exactly what is going through Gil's head. He knows what's best for the team, and he's willing to do whatever it takes to make the team better. He's a gym rat who works his ass off.

He makes a great point about Eddie's offense. There really wasn't a true point guard. Someone brought up the ball, and they did their worthless 3-man weave. There was no point guard to create or play-make.

Things will be different next year, and Gil knows what it takes to adapt to the new situation.

Read the whole thing.

Here's how dumb coaches are: Just this season, we witnessed coaches playing Kevin Durant at shooting guard, slowing down Steve Nash, playing slow-it-up with the Sixers, bringing Rip Hamilton off the bench, burying Anthony Randolph on a lottery team, playing Darius Songaila over JaVale McGee on a lottery team, ignoring the stat that's about to impress you when we get to the Nowitzki paragraph, and doing everything that Mike Dunleavy did. There's a reason 85 percent of these guys get canned within three years.

You aren't a true NBA fan if you don't read Simmons' columns. They're fabulous and entertaining. Don't agree with him all the time, but he does have a buddy (named House) who is a die-hard Wiz fan, whom he talks shop with often.

I do agree that Tap didn't play JaVale enough this year. He was concentrated on winning, of course, and how did that turn out for us? This will be a big summer for JaVale. Learn from Haywood, my friend.

I had the pleasure of sitting next to ESPN Page 2 columnist LZ Granderson during the game...He said this was his second time seeing the Wizards, and his first time seeing the Hawks play. I asked him what he thought of the Wizards and he said, "They are terrible, and they need to blow this team up." He also said that this team would not improve much when Gilbert Arenas comes back. Ouch

Mobley has some interesting notes from the Atlanta-Wiz game, some of which are worth reading.

Granderson thinks we should blow the team up... Thoughts? ;)

I don't like that sentiment, but he's right.

If we're talking last place, and thus, lottery picks... Blake Griffin is looking quite nice right now. He could replace a never-will-reach-his-potential Blatche and an aging Jamison in the future.
