Aged sealift command nut who is winding down a second
career in health psychology. Braves fan since 1959 after
the Brooklyn Dodgers left me, personally, for L.A. and
Milwaukee, which had peaked in 1958, of course moved
south. Amazingly I could pull in radio games as far west as
Kansas until TT started TBS and I was no longer the only
person watching or listening to Milo Hamilton and later of
course the Professor.
Forget 1969 with cha cha, the hammer and rico carty,,
or the back into it playoff when Joe Torre managed
a mess and St. Louis blew us out. Like a crazed Cub fan
I held in and went all in at Harrah's when the odds, truth,
were 200 to 1 and the young arms and a 1 year wonder
named Cabrera, along with Justice, Gant and Otis, Lonnie
Smith got off drugs too and the GM Bobby Cox had come
down from Toronto and built an organization based on good young
arms, patience of Jobe, and guys who could frequently catch and
throw.
Same cycle is in process as we watch today.
