Kings Fire Westphal
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/7428725/sacramento-kings-fire-paul-westphal
So it looks like the Kings have confirmed speculation and fired Westphal. To recap, Westphal basically called a press conference to compare Cousins to Hitler. The Kings then publicly backed Westphal's actions, obviously pissing off Cousins. Then, several days later, they backtrack and fire Westphal. Now Cousins probably hates the Kings management even more, and at the same time knows that he has serious leverage in any conflict. Classic Kings. This is almost as good as the time the Clippers tried to convince everyone they had sound management, a week after giving 24 mil to Caron Butler.
Point Guard Comparison
Kind of a cool chart to look at. So many other factors go into determining a PGs value that I don't think this chart is all that helpful for deciding how good a player is, but its still interesting.
NBA 2K10 Simulation
So IGN did a simulation of what next season would look like if LeBron and Wade both sign with NY. Laughable, I know, but while the simulation thought that the new Knicks would be a dominant force, it had a similar opinion about the Rockets, who finished with the first seed in the West and ultimately lost in a seven game series to the Knicks. None of this means anything, and I could do without the repeated images of LeBron and Wade dunking on Yao and Hill, but fun nonetheless.

Editors note: Jazz are swept in WCF.

Grading the NBA Trades
Key quote:
"I were an NBA GM, I just wouldn't even make eye contact with Daryl Morey"
Crazy Trade Idea
Chris Paul isn't happy in NO. While the team picked up Okafor to show Paul they were serious about contending, if they keep on losing and tensions continue to strain, we could see New Orleans shift back to cost cutting mode. And TMac and Brian Cook could cut some costs very quickly for them. I would be afraid to mess with Houston's roster, as everything is working well and the team chemistry to perfect, but a trade sending Paul, Peja and Posey to Houston with Brooks, McGrady and Cook going to NO would allow NO to cut a lot of salary fast, and would still give them a talented, cheap PG.
I don't really know what NO's financial situation is like or how much other teams value Brooks, and its difficult to compare talent versus cash savings; but what do you think about the trade? I could easily see NO refusing to trade Paul for so little (Brooks and cap relief) but I can also see Houston refusing to take on so much salary and mess with team chemistry.
TMAC and Vogue
So I'm new here and have no idea if the TMac Vogue thing is just a joke or if people really think he was reading it, but it appears (unfortunately) that he is reading the February 2007 edition of this: http://www.vegasmagazine.com/covers.html . I'm loathe to defend McGrady, but it appears that at least in this one instance he wasn't being a vagina. Then again, maybe everyone already knew that.
Cross Ben Sheets Off the List of Things to Complain About

Can't fault the team for not going after him now. You never know whats in those medical reports (though our lack of interest was more for financial reasons, this may have played a role as well). On the plus side, he may hold off on signing until he starts healing. If the economy turns up a little maybe we can sign him on the cheap for next year.
