I went to my first Mariners game back in 2004. At first, it was just an opportunity to hang out with friends and absorb a foreign atmosphere; I was a club kid, and going to sporting events wasn't "cool", whatever the hell that means. Over the next few years, and due to several factors, I dropped going to clubs and working on music with my bandmates and picked up baseball.
I started closely following the Mariners in late 2007, randomly turning on games, familiarizing myself with the rules and the players. By the end of the season, I was hooked on baseball. Some friends bought me a 16-game plan for my birthday, and I watched or listened to just about all 162 Mariners games in 2008, attending the 16 I had been gifted, and working Stub Hub for other games as I felt necessary. I started blogging at the beginning of the 2008 season (located at the website link), and eventually worked up the guts to make it public. No, I don't do stats, and maybe I like a lot of players that other people have reason not to, but I do love watching baseball, and I do love the Mariners.
