Logical Diamond Head Classic Bracket
So after looking at the Diamond Head Classic bracket, I thought it was a bit hard to follow. Plus I hate that the times are listed in Eastern time. Not sure why they made the bracket the way they did, I guess because it is not a true double elimination tournament as all teams are guaranteed 3 games. Anyway, I made a new bracket that I think is easier to follow and it has Pacific times listed. Hopefully the formatting holds and all the lines show up, otherwise someone will have to teach me how to make that work.

2011 Pac-12 Schedule Released
Pretty much like we all thought. Play an LA team every year, every other year in LA as you can see in the chart at the bottom. Away game to Colorado in 2011 on Oct. 1st and at San Diego State on Sept. 17th. Either one would be a fun road trip. Also host Utah in 2011 so get to play both new comers right off the bat.

TV Schedule Week 5
Well, probably the last time the Cougs are on TV until the Crapple Cup.
TV Schedule Week 4
Pac-10 league games starting this week. UW and Colorado both have a bye. Big game for the Beavs and late enough we can watch it after our game. Let's hope the Beavs are in late season form rather than early season form.
TV Schedule Week 3
The schedulizer website doesn't seem to be working, so I did this one on my own using info from multiple websites. If any times are wrong let me know. All times listed are Pacific Time. I added both Idahol schools as I thought people might be interested in those as well.

TV Schedule Week 2
Since there were requests, I made a schedule for week 2. I just did this one from the website, schedulizer and when I cut and paste, it removes the helmets, but still gives you the TV info. Headed to Pullman tomorrow, hopefully to witness a much needed win.

TV Schedule Week 1
I made a tv schedule for this first weekend of games for the Pac 10 + 2 and a couple of other games of interest in SMU and Boise State. The one I made was an excel spreadsheet and had the helmets, but the only way I can get it to cut and paste is without the graphics, but it works just the same. Unfortunately many of the games are on at the same time Saturday, but I guess you just need more than one tv or a quick finger. Anyway, I figured others might get some use out of it so here you go:

Uniforms
ESPN had questions for current college football players and one of the questions was who has the best uniforms.
http://espn.go.com/blog/pac10/post/_/id/11719/which-pac-10-teams-are-in-the-wrong-conference
Amazingly, Oregon was picked as the favorite. It was a small sample size so I don't know how accurate it is, but I found it interesting. Must be the difference in generations because I personally think Oregon typically has hideous uniforms. I mean they can look good, they just usually choose not to. Their green helmets with a white jersey and green pants or their all greens look pretty good, other than the feathers. It's when they do all the mix and match with colors that aren't even school colors that make them look ridiculous. The throwback unis they wore this last year looked really good I thought. I think the younger generation just loves almost anything Nike puts out there, the uglier the better.
So I know there was a huge post about the Cougs uniforms a while back, but I am just curious as to what Pac-10 teams uniforms people like? Besides, still too much time to kill before the season starts. Do people really like Oregon, or do they prefer others? I would have to say that I would go with OSU and Cal as probably my favorites right now. Oregon State has a pretty basic, yet classy uniform and they have their own number font. They also quickly ditched the sports bras when they saw that they didn't look good. If you want a little more flair, I would go with Cal's. It isn't so boring, but not totally obnoxious either. USC's are classic and I really do like their shoulder stripe, I wish the Cougs stripe would look more like that. Make the top strip similar to USC's and the bottom strip about where the current one is, but coming to a point to meet the other one rather than the squared off athletic tape look.
You can view pictures of the uniforms here:
Yakima Area Cougs AF Dinner
Those in the Yakima area or those close enough to drive over, the Athletic Foundation Dinner is May 14th (Friday). Space is limited to 200 so you will have a good chance to have face time with Moos, Wulff and Bone. Will also feature wine tasting with many local wineries. There will be silent and live auctions and presentations by Moos and the coaches. You can come individually or sponsor a table if you want. Register on-line at wsucougars.com.
Klay has solid game in USA win against Lithuania
He had 10pts 7bds and box score says 3 assists 1 steal where the story says 3 steals with no mention of assists.
Bjornstad to be a Coug
Haven't seen anything official, but if true would be welcome news.
Edit: here is the official release
Katz still in love with Tony
It does talk a lot about WSU as well
Joe Harris offered
Bone offers Chelan shooter Joe Harris. Not sure where the schollie will come from, maybe someone is leaving.
Will this move hurt season ticket sales? (Poll)
I didn't really want to do another poll and take away from Johnnycoug's poll, but I am just curious if this move will really alienate the regular customers, the season ticket holders. Are people just looking at this for convenience or is it something the customer wants. I could have just said season ticket holder or not, but I really wanted to see if it is also dependant on where people live. Plus, it could give a sample of where the season ticket holders come from.
Let's talk replacements for Chadwick/Boeke
I was looking through the recruiting databases and there are a couple of committed to other school guys, that don't appear to have signed LOI's yet. The new LOI signing period starts here shortly. Any way there are two that look like possibilities for Bone.
One is Angus Brandt, who was being recruited by WSU, but there didn't appear to be any openings at the time. He is a native Australian and ended up committing to Oregon State.

The other is a Washington kid who from some articles I have seen, may have been recruited by PSU, so Bone may be familiar with him. He has size, but looks to have committed to N. Illinois. His name is David Wink. I know nothing about him other than the stuff listed on the recruiting websites.

Anyone else have any possibilities?
Bennett to Virginia?
Someone in Pullman tell me it is not true. I am hoping this is a mistake, that it is Randy Bennett that is going there. He turns down Indiana and Marquette, closer to home and LSU close to the in-laws for Virginia? It just doesn't make any sense. I am hoping it is false, but the Times has run with it so I don't know. Do we hire from the staff to keep the continuity? Ben Johnson, Woodley? We saw how that worked out in football so I don't know.
Some what ifs
So what if WSU beats UW tomorrow, ASU beats Cal, and UCLA beats UO? It would leave UW and UCLA tied at the top with a 13-5 record, ASU and Cal would be tied for 3rd at 11-7. UW and UCLA split this year, UW was 0-2 against Cal and 2-0 against ASU where UCLA was 2-0 against Cal and 0-2 against ASU. Cal and ASU would have split the season series and their overall against the top 2 teams would be the same. Who gets seeded where? I guess it would depend on the 5th place team and that could also end up a 3 way tie if USC beats OSU and Zona beats Stanford. In that group, SC would be 3-1 head to head, Zona 2-2 and WSU 1-3. So I guess USC wins that tie breaker for 5th. Then Arizona 6th and the Cougs 7th.
Would it then be the record of Cal ASU against Arizona? It appears that both are 2-0 against Arizona, so then USC? Well they are both 1-1 against USC so I guess it would then come down to the Cougs. So ASU is 0-2 and Cal is 2-0. So I guess Cal would be 3rd and ASU 4th. With Cal being 0-2 agianst UCLA but 2-0 against UW, UCLA would be 1st and UW 2nd. So the seedings would be as follows I guess.
1. UCLA 2. UW 3. CAL 4. ASU 5. USC 6. Arizona 7. WSU 8. OSU 9. Stanford 10. UO
Not sure that is all correct, but it would definitely make it interesting.
Pac-10 Officiating
Did anyone watch the ASU/UA game last night? The officials, namely Dave Libbey once again showed how bad they are. Rather than letting the teams decide who would win this game, Dave Libbey stepped in once again to steal the spot light. With ASU up by two, Arizona had the ball with about 12 seconds left. They came out of a timeout with a play drawn up, they got the ball to Budinger who drove to the top where Jordan Hill set a screen for a pick and roll. Dave Libbey called a foul on the screen and ended any chance of the game being decided by the players. Hill did lower his shoulder slightly, but not enough to call a foul, especially when it decides the game. It is about time that the Pac-10 step up and fire Dave Libbey to send a message to other Pac-10 officials that they aren't going to put up with it anymore. Hopefully once there is a new commisioner in place, the reffing for both basketball and football can be fixed.
