Bert on Gomez
Bert on the 9.10 broadcast, comparing Carlos Gomez to Rickey Henderson (paraphrase): He [Gomez] reminds me a lot of Rickey Henderson. I mean, what kind of hitter was Rickey when he was 22? He thought he could be a power hitter at first, you know...
There are so many things wrong with this, but I'll just post this from B-R:

Carlos Gomez's nickname...
...is putrid, IMO. What do you think? Feel free to leave alternate suggestions. I don't think that someone whose full name is 3 syllables really needs a nickname, anyway. Fanposts have to be at least 75 words? Why? What if one just want to ask a question and make a poll? I guess we can use half the words to ask questions like these in those cases. Or just type random stuff. Or something.

Lineup Analysis
I promised a few days ago to do some lineup math. I'm feeling lazy and obligated simultaneously, so I'll do it, but half-assedly.

Ideal Lineup...
...Before we get to that, the site looks good. Congrats! I've been waiting to post until it comes up.
Anyway, given that we now know pretty much who the position players are, what is everyone's dream lineup? I'll run some numbers on some of the various configurations and post later, but to spark some conversation here is what struck a friend and I as interesting:
Mauer
Cuddyer
Kubel
Morneau
Young
Lamb
Harris
Everett
Gomez
This of course assumes that Monroe is not in the lineup... Kubel and Young could be switched depending on what you think they'll do... I really like the idea of batting Gomez 9th and Mauer 1st, although this will never happen.
