Reading MLBTradeRumors this afternoon, I got to wondering about Jed Lowrie, the Sawx blocked infield prospect. With Pedroia locking down second and Lugo/Lowell signed for the next couple of years (both through at least '10 I believe), Lowrie has to be up for a trade, doesn't he?

Would Sanchez + Tanner/Matos/Pereira (not all three obviously, but a combo) be enough? Anybody have an idea of what Boston's needs are? I don't think anything less than Sanchez to start would do it, but I don't think it'd take any of Bum/Ald/Sosa.

Lowrie has a solid bat and great plate vision. I doubt he reaches 20+ HR power, but he could do well with the gaps at our park. Could be a solid 1-2 hitter for us for quite awhile.

Thoughts?
