The Ticket is reporting that the Braves and Padres are about to get a deal done for Peavy. They are waiting on Peavy to get back from his vacation so he can officially waive is no trade clause.

Has anyone else heard this and if so does anyone know what players are involved?

I am going to be short of the 75 word limit so I am just going to ramble on like a little school girl and try to make it to the limit before I run out of breath.

And the local sports station is throwing out a trade of Duchscherer for Poreda and Fields.

Does not sound like enough from the Soxs side for me.

What do ya'll think?

It looks like have have to write several more words to make this a legitimate post so here it goes I am trying to get to the 75 word limit but it is getting very tiresome typying all these words that mean nothing.

Beane ahead of the curve!!!

Beane knows that the A's do not have the hitting to win the west so he is stocking up his farm system with hitters and pitchers for the future.

Texas sure as hell does not have the pitching to stay in the race. Or offense is tremendous, and will get better with Blalock at 3rd, but can we keep scoring 7+ runs a game? The Rangers have been so bad for so long that this mini run is something the front office sees as a way to put butts in seats and the soso fans see and think we have a chance when realistically we don't.

We should be out there shopping Padilla, Millwood, Bradley, Guardado, Cat and Vasquez. They are not going to bring back a Tex haul but if they are put together correctly with a prospect here and there we could get soem near ready pitching. Near ready itching is what we need to go along with out near ready, or ready, offensive players.

I think Beane is one heck of a GM but he is not playing under the same rules, money wise or expectation wise, as the Rangers but we should follow suit.

Is going to sign a 5 year 90 mill dollar extension with the Cubs today.

The only ace on the market next year is gone so do we sign any big contracts next year?

Min is 300 so I guess I have to keep typing till I hit that amount so if I keep going I will finally hit the amount that I need to hit to be able to post this entry.

What is wrong with The Newberg Report? I have not been able to get on most of the day. Is it down or just under some reconstruction.

Way to go Mavericks...I think that we got under their skin. Game three in California on Friday at 9:30 that is a late game. I am just rambling trying to get to 300 characters.

Sad to see the Stars go...Boy do they need some offense, I think they missed the boat on not resigning Arnot or Guerin.

Why is Guzman

Not a viable canidate for CF in Texas? His line of .282 69 252 45 71 9 2 1 14 36 36 31 9 .375 .345 .720 is very incouraging.

I would defintely try and sign GMJ but if it gets above 3/21 I would let Guzman roam CF and put that money into pitching or save it for another CF. With the other options out there been really null and void then to me Guzman should be getting more pub.

What I would do...

The first thing I would do is fire Buck. Now there are 2 ways to go...A) Go for it B) Sell and build.

A) Go for it...New Manager list would start with Trey Hillman.

-Go after and get DM (Japanese Pitcher)
-Resign Padilla
-Resign Eaton or get Lilly

Millwood
DM
Padilla
Eaton or Lilly
Tejeda

-Resign GMJ
-Sign Sori (4/50)
-Let go of Wilks, Barajas, Lee and DeRosa take picks

CF-GMJ
SS-Young
1st-Tex
LF-Sori
3rd-Blalock
2nd-Kinsler
DH-Botts
C-Laird
RF-Cruz

B) Manager list would start with Girardi.

-Trade Tex, MY, Blalock, Millwood and Aki for the best you can get and start over.

I would rather go with A but if management does a half ass job and lets say resigns Wells and GMJ brings in Lilly and signs C Wilson then I would rather go with B. But if management went out and signed a top tier pitcher (Zito, Schmidt, DM) and resigned Padilla or Eaton and then kept Wilks and resigned GMJ then I could live with that. It would show that there was a plan.

It comes down to that I would rather go young then start the season again knowing that we don't really have a chance.
