The Contra Costa Times is reporting that Jazz fans were shouting racial epithets at Golden State players.

Jackson and Richardson both said Thursday that they had been subjected to racial slurs from the predominantly white crowd of 19,911 during Game 2 on Wednesday night.

If this is true, I am shocked and appalled. I have been to dozens of Jazz games and never heard such behavior. Of course, I certainly cannot account for every single redneck in the arena.

And I would not waste any of your time apologizing for or trying to defend cowardly and deplorable decorum such as this.

All I can say is: Please know that not all Jazz fans are scurrilous, racist @$$holes.

Also, this illustrates why I prefer to frequent GSoM, rather than one of my own homer blogs. I don't need those freaks any more than you do.

Just in case anyone is unaware, I am a Jazz fan. But I wanted to give props to you guys. You are probably the most tenacious and toughest fans in the NBA. I understand why Oracle is such a juggernaut. Honestly, I'm a little anxious about the next 2 games in this series. You guys know how to bring it.

Yeah, you rag Utah fans for stealing your gimmicks (which they have), and for booing at anything that goes against the Jazz, but isn't that what being a homer is all about? It really isn't different at anyone's home arena.

You guys have also been really classy about Fish and Dee Brown. That is huge to us on the outside of Warrior Nation. In one of our games against Houston, D-Will crashed into Battier and was on the floor for quite some time. The rockets fans responded by chanting "Utah sucks" and calling him a little girl. Berating opposing players has a long and proud tradition in the NBA, but you gotta pick your spots. When a guy is on the floor, and his status is unknown - that's not the time to be a tool. GS know when to push and when not to.

Anyway, that's why I like you guys.

Plus, this priceless nugget from mojo x

MP2
As fun as he is to have around, basketball games are more entertaining when we're winning. If I want a French dude to entertain me, I'll watch Cirque du Soleil.

I'm STILL laughing.

Yes, I'm a Jazz fan, from SLC. But I have strong family ties to the bay area and really dig the Warriors. I was completely sucked into that series against Dallas. This will be a great series.
The Warriors are hotter than hot right now, and riding a wave of momentum that's borderline scary. ESPNs "experts" (4 of 5) picked the Ws in this series. Who could blame them. But I wouldn't start planning for the WC finals just yet. The Jazz have shown that they aren't as bad as everyone thought, either.
So let's get it on. I'm amped.

Great blog, BTW. I'm sure I'll be wasting a lot of work time here.
