Potential Trade Idea with the Sixers...
76ers get:
Warriors get:
Jrue Holiday and Andre Iguodala
Why the Warriors do it:
Iguodala brings the defense from the 3 among the best of them. Jrue Holiday is a pretty efficient young guard with a desire to learn the game and play defense.
Why the 76ers do it:
Elton Brand is old and they don't have an reliable big to lean on. Stephen Curry was once alone worth both these players.
Why it probably won't happen:
Both the players the 76ers would be getting in this trade are currently injured. Lee's injury isn't serious but the rest of the league might not have as much confidence in Steph as we do. Not every front office is as willing to deal for injured players as much as we are.

Crazy Post-season superstitions?
We all know baseball fans are some of the most superstitious fans out there... with my playoff beard, lucky underwear, Giants hoodie, rally thong, stuffed animals, and favorite spot on the couch; how could anyone be more superstitious?
Post the crazy stuff you did this season and the reactions people gave you! I, for one, had taken a picture of my stuffed Nemo with a Giants hat on, and made it my profile picture. Once we won the first game of the Braves series, I couldn't change it!
Giants most liked team in all of baseball?
Maybe it's because we give so many games to our opponents, ones we should have won. Or maybe it's because we make Wade LeBlanc look like a Cy Young candidate, while we tack on more runs on Roy Halladay in 6 IP than he's given up all year...
I think the Warriors are going to be good next year.
Now, I know you're thinking I'm crazy. How can the Warriors be competitive in this stacked West? Well...
This year we've dealt with a lot as a franchise. Our "captain" wanting out, leaving the team without a leader. Chemistry questions in the backcourt. Injuries to every single player on our roster. A rookie PG, even though he's playing better than a lot of us expected in this stage in his career. An owner who has no intention of winning games, just making sure he doesn't have to pay people. Next year will be different. Here's why.
The last good year we had was 2007-08. We finished 48-34 and still missed the playoffs. A lot of people still can't believe the Warriors played that well that year. We had just traded away J-Rich for cost reasons, and the fan base was angered. Coming off the first playoff birth in what seemed like forever, the Warriors built off that momentum. We took the loss of our star SG, and with that emerged another young star, Monta Ellis. If we look at that roster from that year, and assume that's what we need to succeed in Nellieball, our roster next year has a good chance. We're missing one part, and we'll get to that later.
07/08 Warriors 10/11 Warriors
PG: Davis PG: Curry
SG: Ellis SG: Ellis
SF: Jackson SF: ??
PF: Harrington PF: Randolph
C: Biedrins C: Biedrins
Bench: 'Buike, Watson, Pietrus, Wright, Barnes... Bench: Maggette, Williams, Turiaf, 'Buike, Wright, Draft Pick...
If we compare position by position, theres no reason to think that next years team is going to be just as good, if not better than the 07/08 team. Curry is going to be a better PG than Davis was that year. Ellis is better than he was back then as well (Debatable due to efficiency though). Randolph can easily match Harrington's production that year, (13 PPG, 6 RPG?) if not out produce him. Biedrins will return to Biedrins form (nightly 10/10), just wait and see. The question mark, is the SF position. Jackson, as much as I hate him, was vital to Nellieball. He was almost the perfect point forward. His TOs were high, but he could pass well, shoot well, and was the leader of the team. To find someone to do that is going to be hard. A lot of people want Evan Turner, myself included, to step up and be that man. While I believe he can be that man, its going to be hard as a rookie to adjust to that role quickly. We maybe better off pursuing someone in free agency to do that while he develops. If the ownership changes, maybe we'll see the FO bring in someone relevant. I think it will happen though.
Bringing back We Believe. It never left though, and never will.
LGW.

Dear Monta...
I know the past couple of months we here at GSoM have been hard on you. Maybe not everyone, but I know I've had some choice words that I shouldn't have said. Looking back at some of my opinions, it has become clear that I was obviously mistaken.
First of all, I want to thank you for being a Warrior. You have been a great player this year, and most importantly you've came to play with everything you had. I understand that you are only 24, and still very much maturing as a player. It was completely irrational of me to expect you to perform like Kobe Bryant every night. (Even though numbers wise, you've been close!) I got caught on the Stephen Curry hype, and almost lost love for the last remaining Warrior from We Believe. Sure Biedrins was there, but he's not come out like you have this year. You could've easily done what Jack did and requested out. You probably would've gotten out too, since you're such a talent. The Mississippi Bullet (or Missle?) has a special place in my heart, and I want you to know that you will always be there.
The OJ + Thabeet trade at first looked like a no brainer for the Warriors. I was in favor of the trade back then, but if that happened today, I would be very broken hearted. I don't think that OJ will come out with the heart you have shown every night, and recently you've shown you're a great passer. No one is better at getting to the rim than you are in the league. When I watch OJ play (like I will be doing tonight) I don't see a Warrior. Monta Ellis, you are a Warrior.
Sure we had mopedgate, which should've seen you get in more trouble that you did. I have learned to forgive you for that, and you playing through little injuries has helped me realize your true value. Sure, you said that you wouldn't be able to play with Steph, but now you two have formed the best backcourt in the league (production wise). It's easy to be troubled at first, and hopefully playing with each other has eased some of your worries.
Overall, I wanted to apologize for being so hard on you this season. Its been so long since we've tasted glory, and you were an easy scapegoat for a wasted season. It's not your fault that we have been injury prone all year. It's not your fault that the front office decides to surround you with D-Leaguers rather than Lottery-Pick talent. It's not your fault that the NBA refuses to see you as an All-Star despite you're obvious production. You my friend will be a winner one day. The fastest man in the NBA is not going to fall off quickly. I can only hope that you're a winner with the Warriors.
I'll be at Oracle tonight, watching you handle O.J. and show all the Warrior faithful that you are the only SG we need. Make us proud.
Sorry, it'll never happen again. I hope you accept my apology, as you are again my favorite player on the Warriors.

Monta Ellis has ruined Andris Biedrins...
As we all know, Biedrins has caught a lot of flack this year for his subpar play. His off the ball movement is horrible, he's a defensive liability, and has shown little to no offensive game.
Most of us attribute this to his injury and his time away from the game, but there in lies a larger problem that we really haven't visited. Biedrins is not an offensive option. He's not a go to player. You can't throw the ball down into him in the post and expect him to shoulder fake then sink in the baby hook. That's just not his game. Never has been, and probably never will be. The problem here is that Biedrins has played in a largely different type of offense this year. The Warriors for the most part of the year have become the "Monta Show." Monta iso at the top of the key. Monta pull up jumper. Monta drive to the hoop and gets swatted 50% of the time. This is has ruined Biedrins' game.
Nellie has made a big deal about how Biedrins is not showing any passion this year. How the 13% FT percentage has gotten to his head, and because of that, he is not as aggressive on offense. The FT percentage has limited his aggressiveness, there's no doubt about that, but that's also because he's not scoring the same way he has been the last couple of years.
The last two years, Biedrins has thrived off the pick and roll. He basically only scores on dunks and layups. That's how he's shot 63% and 58% over the last two years. He doesn't have a jump shot. He doesn't have a post game. Open dunks. That's the only way he scores. 2 years ago, this was working very well with Baron Davis. Davis was a true point guard that ran the pick effectively. Last year, he had Capt'n Jack, who found Biedrins often, however inefficiently he did it. The point is, Biedrins was given the ball in situations where all he has to do is dunk it. Thats they only way he'll be a 10 and 10 guy.
The status quo has Monta getting a pick set and driving to the hoop or shooting. If there were more ball movement, I would have no doubt in Biedrins becoming a 10/10 guy again.

Jerry West, next Warriors GM?
The Mercury is reporting that if Larry Ellison does in fact buy the Warriors, that he will name Jerry West as his GM. Apparently they met before when Ellison was thinking about buying the Lakers but then realized that he's no faker the bay is his home. What do you guys think about this? Jerry West was largely mediocre during his time as the Memphis Grizzlies GM, but he is the man that engineered the Kobe for Vlade trade, while we drafted Todd Fuller minutes earlier...
Now as much as I hate seeing a former Flaker take charge of my beloved Warriors, I would love to see someone who wants the franchise to succeed as the manager. We all have our problems with Cohan and Riley, and their cost effective wannabe moneyball scheme which has caused us nothing but misery and the departure of all the players we love. The fact of the matter is, I would love to see Jerry West as the GM of the Warriors, especially with Ellison as the owner. Reading about Ellison, it seems that he would have a Cuban-like effect on the franchise. He seems very driven and since he's filthy rich, he's not in it to make money as much as win rings BABY.
Also another thing discussed in the Mercury was the possibility of Ellison moving the franchise to San Francisco. This makes no difference to me, it would be essentially the same drive out, but I think the roaracle has a certain legend in Oakland. I would probably be opposed to this.
And since no fanpost is allowed without saying something about Monta, Monta Ellis.
