Well here we go again. Can´t we make it at least into training camp before we loose our draft picks to injuries?

The Saints just confirmed that fourth-round draft pick Stanley Arnoux ruptured his left Achilles tendon during the first practice of rookie minicamp Friday morning. He is expected to miss the entire 2009 season, according to a league source, but the Saints said they won't announce a recovery timetable until a later date.

Arnoux will have surgery at some point next week.

The rookie outside linebacker from Wake Forest apparently suffered the injury while running toward the ball during the practice, which was held outdoors on a natural grass surface.

Lawmaker: Tower purchase may keep Saints in New Orleans

Well it seems Benson is serious on keeping the Saints in NO.

Saints owner Tom Benson intends to buy a high-rise office tower next to the Louisiana Superdome, and the state has pledged to lease much of the building back as an incentive for Benson to keep his NFL club in New Orleans long-term, a state senator said Thursday evening.

Alario, D-Westwego, a powerful longtime New Orleans area lawmaker, said he had been briefed about the state's proposal, but he said he doesn't know the full scope of the plans or the details of the sale of the building, formerly known as the Dominion Tower.

But of the building sale, he said, "I understood Benson would buy it and then the state would then rent space from him." He said the state would rent that space from Benson rather than replace a state office building in downtown New Orleans.

Now I dont quite know what to think of these guys or this site, being that I have been banned from becoming a member. Dont ask me why...I dont know myself. Nonetheless, they have this to say about LT and the Saints. If this turns out to have any validity and they are interested then ....well... we´ll see if this was just more BS speculation. It would be pretty funny if they did though.

Now that the Texans released him I was thinking of whether he would be a viable OLB candidate. I mean we need OLB help, the dudes play is impressive and being somewhat older might also not be too expensive. We would beef up an important need just the question is - Is he too expensive? or Does he even remotely come into question? Your thoughts.

Also, could all this talk be for naught? I´m starting to wonder, when I read about the negotians between the State and the Saints (and Hornets) and the upcoming financial shortfall to these teams this year.

Decided to post this from the TP.....or was this one of you folks?

LT A SAINT?

Posted by 504ever, January 16, 2009 5:20PM

I must be having a month long dream.A dream that for one reason or another seems to keeps re-occurring.The dream starts after a playoff game between the Chargers and Steelers, where the Chargers are eliminated and afterwards this four letter sports station starts to announce that the San Diego Chargers are considering a release of star running back LaDainian Tomlinson. At thirty years old and finishing the last two seasons watching the games instead of playing them,it could be time for both LT and the Chargers to part ways. However,if the LT release were to take place, the biggest question in the NFL would be where will he land? A player of his stature,at this point in his career,is not going to be chasing the money, yes he'll paid by someone but it won't be for the player he used to be but the player he is now. That revelation could be just what a team looking for a veteran back needed and that team could and should be the New Orleans Saints. It would be a win for both sides, the Saints get a motivated LT with something to prove not only to his former employer, but to everyone in the entire league, including himself. For the Saints, it would the addition of a Hall of Fame back to a team desparate for a veteran back, one that can gain the short yardage as well as provide the leadership needed to improve a set of talented young running backs, who could learn from one of the very best to lace em' up.LT would come to a team that has everything in place to make a Superbowl run on offense, and with the hiring of a new DC,the potential to have a much improved defensive unit as well.I'm not saying its going to happen, only that should LT be released it is a move the Saints should consider. The pros far out weigh the cons, and there's nothing wrong with a dream every now and again.DREAM SAINTS FANS, DREAM!

If the Chargers dont want LT anymore and let him go, he should come here. Drew and him are best buds and they could get Bush in exchange if needed. Drew and LT would prob. put the offense over the top. LT should be OK by next season, runs N-S not E-W and still has a few years left. Some might think I´m crazy, but I mean think about it. .....but then again maybe I´m just trippin´. :-)
