Who do you want to see in 2010?
Lets be honest here. If the Bears do decide to eat the 10-11 mil left on Lovies contract for the final 2 years (please - please - please), it is unlikely that they are going to be willing to go all out for a Coach like Shanahan or Cowher. With this in mind, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago lists three possible candidates that would cost much less.
I want to hear from you. Who do you invision as the HC of the Bears in 2010 if Lovie is let go? Who do you like as OC and DC? Will we bring in a former Head Coach or will we pilfer an up and coming assistant?
It may just be wishful thinking and we will be stuck with Lovie and Co. for 1 more year, but it is close enough to Christmas that we can put together a wish list and hope for the best.
New Player available to be added to the Chicago Rams!
The Rams have released guard Richie Incognito according to PFT. With our propensity for adding former Rams players and our glaring weakness on the OL, would you like to see Incognito wearing the orange and blue?
Is Tommie Harris injured?
PFT reports that Tommie Harris is claiming that the Bears Injury Report "wasn't true". Is it possible that Harris was a healthy scratch in an attempt to get a message across?
Articles like this seem to support the notion that the team may be coming apart at the seams. If Harris was a healthy scratch, then he should have been labled as so without manipulating the injury report. If Harris were actually injured, he should not be calling out the team publicly for fudging the injury report.
None of this bodes well for a team coming off one of its worst shellacking in recent memory. I have been an ardent supporter of the Bears and their coaching thus far this season, but the events of the past week have me questioning my support.
Update: Lovie Smith revealed in his presser today that it was a coaching decision to sit Tommie, not because he was hurt. Link to article by Brad Biggs.

Some Things Never Change
This article at Profootballtalk.com describes Sexy Rexy's first action as a Houston Texan. Apparently he managed to fumble a snap (god I won't miss that), and get hurt severe enough to miss 1 month of action in only 5 snaps.
I personally was a fan of Grossman and always wanted to see him turn it around, but I had to laugh my a$$ of when I read this. His tenure in Houston does not appear to have started off any better than it ended in Chicago. THANK THE FOOTBALL GODS FOR JAY CUTLER!!!!!!!
Bowman to FS
According to Larry Mayer, the bears are trying Zach Bowman at FS. I personally like the move as he has a better chance of seeing the field than he does at Corner. While we have only seen Bowman in one game, he definately came up big in that one game.
The only concern that I have with Bowman is his history of injuries. I think that it is too early to call him injury prone, but it definately remains a concern. What are everyone's thoughts on this move?
Bears sign their QB
So Angelo has finally done it, he has signed a QB to compete with Orton in the offseason just as he promised. PFT reports that the bears have signed Brett Basanez off of the practice squad of the Carolina Panthers.Click Here. That is right, Brett Basanez is going to be our savior.
I don't know how I feel about this move. While it may be an insignificant signing in the long run, it may show that the Bears are actually going to bring in some players to compete over the offseason.
Drafting a WR
A lot of people have been lobbying for the Bears to draft a WR in the first round. The names that come up the most often include:
Maclin
Harvin
Heyward-Bey
A lot of other fans are asking for 1st round help on the OL or DE. What are your thoughts on taking the the best OT available in round 1 and looking at Brian Robiske in the 2nd?
Robiske has good size at 6-3, 207 and could be the big target that we have been looking for. I doubt that he is talented enough to develop into a #1, but at this point I would be happy with a solid #2 to compliment Hester.
2009 QB
Allright there have been far too many posts on here lately that have absolutely nothing to do with football. It is time to make the offseason interesting with some actual Chicago Bears Football discussions.
JA kicked off the offseason by stirring things up with his QB comments. He seems to have backed down a bit since and has given Kyle Orton a vote of confidence. I want to hear who the Windy City thinks will be the starting QB in 2009. If your response has nothing to do with football, then please keep it to yourself.
Braylon Edwards?
Adam Shefter was reporting that the Brown's may begin shopping Edwards and Winslow after signging a GM. There has been a lot of talk about the Bears potentially landing Boldin or Housh in the offseason. What are everyone's thoughts on the possibility of landing Edwards? What would you be willing to give up if he were available?
I think Edwards could be a dominant #1 WR if he can fix his dropsies. We may not have the best coaching staff to reign in his focus, but I still think he would be a major upgrade over anyone we have.
Lloyd Lee Gone
The Bears made an official offer to Rod Marinelli today, and also showed the LB Coach Lloyd Lee the door. Does anyone else think that this move may have been made to pave the way for Babich to be demoted back to his original position of LB Coach and Marinelli given the D Coordinator position? If Lovie is not willing to fire Babich, maybe a compromise was made that allowed Babich to remain on the staff while relinquishing his D Coordinator Responsibilities. I guess one can hope at least.
