Money Matters

Ira's write-up seems to answer any and all questions concerning every player on the current roster and how their returns (or departures) will affect the Heat's Salary Cap.

Dwyane Wade's Game 4 Performance: One for the Ages?

1

I gave my thoughts in an earlier thread about Wade’s Game 4 performance being the best I’ve seen in an elimination game, particularly in recent history. Neil Paine over at the Basketball-Reference put together some information that solidifies Dwyane’s place in Playoff history. His 46 points are tied for the best ever in an elimination game since 1991.

David Stern has an ax to grind

1

He's upset with Phil Jackson for criticizing refs. So why he gotta put our former coach and esteemed Team President's name in it? Riles gets a shoutout in the 3rd paragraph.

Something Else to Think About

Which I’m sure we all need after that BS (and I don’t mean Bachelor of Science) last night. It was so horrendous that I don’t think there’s any amount of talking (on our parts or  any of the Heat...

Game 1: An Opportunity Missed

First of all, I hate I missed this game. We scheduled a family outing because I thought the game was on Sunday. I’m going to start with the positive:   1. We did exactly what I wanted for 3...

The Heat's Best Lineups by the Numbers

Scroll down to the section on the Heat. Interesting analysis.

#2 Dunk of the Year?

1

NBA.com ranks D-Wade's posterization of Sideshow Bob as #2. I think it's still #1 personally. What do you guys think?

Good Reasons to Climb Aboard the HEAT Bandwagon

2

This was a novel concept on SB Nation's part and a good job on Dave's part. Check it out.

Footage of D-Wade fixing Coach Jordan's tie.

3

I missed this live and didn't see it on any highlights that night. It's super funny, but I think it was a bit much from Mr. Wade. You guys' thoughts?

Jermaine O'Neal Back Tonight Against Sixers?

1

The Miami Herald is reporting that he might be.

Alonzo Mourning Intervew

+

Zo waxes philosophic with Yahoo!'s Kelly Dwyer on everything from shot blocking to re-signing D-Wade to lobbying in front of the South Carolina legislature. It's a good read.

Who is the REAL barometer to Heat success?

The picture of Jermaine O'Neal throwing down on Kris Humphries and O'Neal's play in general of late got me to thinking. For the most part we (me as much as anybody) has staked the success of the H...

How many times has Stansbury been THIS close?

Rick Stansbury may be doing the most underrated job of coaching at the college level in the nation, particularly when you consider he's been as good as he has been while coaching college ball in...

Looking for an NCAA Bracket Group?

I know this is not official Heat fan business, but I'd love for you all to join my group on Yahoo! to see which of us has the best Bracket. My Group name is NBA Fans. My Group ID# is 93857. Just...

How would Manu Ginobili look in a Heat Uni?

I don’t know what the chances are of him actually leaving San Antone, but he is one of my favorite non-Heat players to watch. The Spurs seem content to at least let him flirt with Free Agency. I...

Is Ed Reed THE premiere safety of his era?

I'll take Ray Lewis over any other LB of his era (many would), but can the same be said of Ed Reed at safety? I know he started his career labeled as a strong safety, but he's definitely better...

Over/Under--15 wins?

I just looked at our final 20 games to close the season schedule. We've built a little momentum and could be poised to play our best ball to close this thing out (which is ultimately what you want...

A Plan of Action

Okay, this season looks like it’s going to have a rather uneventful end for us. We didn’t take a chance on signing the likes Jamal Tinsley, Stephon Marbury, or Allen Iverson earlier in the season....

It’s Time to Take the Training Wheels off Mike Beasley

I have been highly critical of how Michael Beasley has progressed over his first two seasons in the League. He’s been great with Dwyane Wade out recently, but that brings to mind the "Why can’t he...

Who do you want the most, and who would fit with D-Wade?

Our team needs help. That much is obvious. If you watched the All-Star Game, you had to be reminded of how well D-Wade can play when he’s not forced to play 1-on-5 basketball. What remains to be...

Does Pat Riley have something against International players?

Just curious. During his time in Miami has he ever picked or coached an International player? Other than Vlade Divac, did he ever coach one in NY or LA? Since taking over the Heat, Riles has passed...

Will Pat Riley make some trades come Dec. 15, or will he try his luck with free agents?

I am just wondering. We have a shot at getting Chris Bosh this coming summer, but LeBron, Amare, and/or Joe Johnson ain't coming. Why would they leave where they have built Contenders to a place...
