Interesting Idea to get Boozer
Check the last part of the article about a trade for Boozer. We really aren't giving up much and it will def make us a better team. Speculation I assume, but it will help both sides. If and only if we can slide Randolph to the 3 (which is a coin flip if he is better there or at the 4)

Did we miss out?
So I was taking a look around the summer league and noticed a few faces that the warriors were linked to. Not to say we did not get an excellent pick in Curry. Seems like he will fit right in the Warriors run and gun (much more of the later) style. I did however want to put out there that the Warriors coaching/decision making crew is always under a microscope and will continue to be.
I feel like our decision making crew is way off base on some players we pick up, or release. Take a look at Marcus Williams first game with the Griz
Not saying he was the best player we have ever seen, but when we were struggling for a floor general last season we couldn't have used 17 assists vs. 1 TO. Makes me think that maybe he just got a bad rap with Nellie, and just never really got out of the funk. What would have happened if Randolph never got out of his funk either??? Would he be dropping 24 and 10 for another squad?
At the same time Nellie puts so much praise in CJ (despite his horrendous ole on ball defense) and dare I say it ROB KURZ. So much of this team frustrates me, and most of it is surrounding the major decision makers. It would be nice to see us actually keep one of our young talented players. Hopefully we will find out how to do this once Randolph is due for an extension.

Kill Small Ball Movement
After the incredibly bad 2 games we just played it is time we get our stuff together. It is time someone fedex's a map to nelson with directions how to remove his head from his own azz. Small ball kills us.... I wish there was a stat on our +/- differential when we decide to go small ball. I will fund the KILL SMALL BALL MOVEMENT if someone can come up with those stats.
I am tired of playing good games with big lineups only to switch things in the late 3rd- and 4th quarter to a lineup of CJ, Crawford, Buike, Jax, Beidrins. It does not help when we a smaller than the other team at every position. Especially because we have no freak athletes like Josh Smith, that can bang with people 3 inches taller than them. And we don't have guards that can run circles around other guards.
Since we don't have a quick team, and we don't have a big team, we need to adjust how we play. Nelson's small ball lineup works when you have a quick, strong guard core that forces turnovers. We do not have that so it is time to scratch that game plan.
I don't care if Randolph thinks he is KG, as arogant as he is. He will not get better with his azz ont he bench. Wright, Randolph, and even Kurz should be the only ones splitting time at the 4. (Turiaf as well) Stop this Buike and Maggs at the 4 crap.

How good can our team really be?
I was doing a whole lot of thinking. Since everyone has been trying to come up with trade scenario after trade scenario to get rid of Maggs, but we all really know. We are not going to get rid of Maggs... Not this year... Not the next. I started thinking why are we even trying, and if Maggs is dead weight now, and How can Maggs help. By the way I think he can help this team, and we might be making him a little too much of our scapegoat at the moment.
I started to think about how good is our team right now. What can we do internally to get the most out of everyone. Who should be starting, who comes off the bench, how many minutes, who should they be in with.
When Monta returns, Im not going to say we are a playoff team, but we can be very deep and very telented offensively. If we could get more rebounds and play marginally better on D we could be close to a playoff team.
Here is what I suggest (Nelson take a deep breath) Eliminate Small Ball. Then go with this lineup:
Crawford
Jax
Buike
Wright
Beidrins
2nd Team (until Monta is 100%- then switch Crawford and Monta)
Monta
Rambo
Maggs
Randolph
Turiaf
Limited Minutes go to:
CJ, Morrow, Williams, Demarcus
So call me crazy but could not going small ball be the answer to our ugly rebounding diferential. And Call me Crazy again, but Maggs againt a 2nd team defense would make him mighty productive off the bench. Imagine no 6'5 PF's... aww that would be nice.
Lastly, I would like to conclude that Williams should be given a chance to run with the 1st team once in a while to see how he actually distrubutes. (Not Start but run with) I think he will do a good job, considering he is a "true" PG. And really is he that much more of a defensive liability than CJ. Not to mention he can run a fastbreak better. I will give CJ some credit he has played well, shooting. But he is a poor mans Monta with no hops (but two healthy legs).
Kurz = No comment (search D-League for a big bodied 6-9' to 7' replacement)
I ask again could our extremly deep backcourt be a bigger advantage if we don't spread them out to possitions 1-4; instead making two deep guard team rotations. I think it could take a lot fo pressure off of that 4 spot to be productive on offense and to really focus on D and Boards. Let me know!!!

Maggette Dump...
Would you be opposed to this.... In order to clear Maggette's contract
Golden State Warriors
| Incoming Players | |

Andrea Bargnani Salary: $5,176,440 Years Remaining: 2 PTS: 9.8 REB: 4.3 AST: 0.9 PER: 11.38 |

Jason Kapono Salary: $5,784,480 Years Remaining: 2 PTS: 8.5 REB: 2.1 AST: 1.9 PER: 10.14 |
Toronto Raptors

Marcus Williams Salary: $1,262,520 Years Remaining: 1 PTS: 1.3 REB: 0.3 AST: 1.9 PER: 3.43 |

Corey Maggette Salary: $8,275,862 Years Remaining: 5 PTS: 19.1 REB: 5.7 AST: 1.8 PER: 15.75 |
Kapono and Barg are not equal in talent to Maggs/Williams but to get rid of that contract I am not completely opposed to the idea. Oh yeah!!! I am bored at work so sorry for another random trade proposal.

What is It going to take to turn the team around???
Okay everyone. I have seen all the rumors and the front office fiasco that is killing our team right now. I would love to be like everyone else and say replace all of them. But it is not going to happen. Nelson will not get fired, Rowel will continue to have control, Cohan will sit on his high horse and collect all the money becuase we pay $80 a ticket.
Since we can't change the FO we are left with changing the team. I feel this team has a lot of talent....misused talent. We also have one of the biggest logjams, becuase we have all guards. Well let me be the first to tell you that it will we have to get worse to get better.
We will not purposely tank this year... that is not what I am proposing. Plus I think we have too much scoring talent to not at least fight for wins. We have too much talent to truly be labeled a shoe in for Blake Griffin. It is not going to happen without luck, and we have none. I think we will get a mid-high lottery pick, depending on how we play when monta returns. Here is what I propose as a posiblle plan to turn us around.
First we need to deal that horrible contract of Maggette. And truly there are only 1-3 teams that would dare take him. Oklahoma seems like a logical choice, they need scorers and we need relief. So...Here it is.
Oklahoma City Thunder
| Incoming Players | |

Brandan Wright Salary: $2,497,320 Years Remaining: 2 PTS: 7.6 REB: 3.7 AST: 0.2 PER: 19.60 |

Corey Maggette Salary: $8,275,862 Years Remaining: 5 PTS: 19.1 REB: 5.7 AST: 1.8 PER: 15.70 |
![]() |
Marcus Williams Salary: $1,262,520 Years Remaining: 1 PTS: 1.3 REB: 0.3 AST: 1.9 PER: 3.41 Obtained with a trade exception |
Outgoing Players: Joe Smith, Earl Watson
Golden State Warriors
| Incoming Players | |
|---|---|

Joe Smith Salary: $4,795,000 Years Remaining: 1 PTS: 7.0 REB: 4.5 AST: 0.7 PER: 13.73 |
![]() |
Earl Watson Salary: $6,200,000 Years Remaining: 2 PTS: 5.8 REB: 2.4 AST: 6.0 PER: 7.86 |
Outgoing Players: Brandan Wright, Corey Maggette, Marcus Williams
Now like I said we will not get any better immediately but here is what the trade will do. First, cap relief, 2nd give a a veteran to teach Randolph, 3rd a more passer friendly team. Joe Smith is a solid vet, watson plays better defense than our current guards and he does not take wild shots. Lastly, Watson will have an expiring contract in 2010. If we have him he could be a very good trading peice going into the draft and possibly trade deadline of next year.
Next we have to do some retooling with our roster. I would love to see Kurz waived, CJ "fastbreak killer" Waston waived and bring in some big body. Whether it be from D-League or oversees. I would even consider keeping Kurz if it doesn't push us over the lpayer limit. I kind of like Nened Kristic, playing oversees and may be given a contract in January to return. (but 15 mil might be pretty high priced) However, I remember Kristic having abosolutey great games against us. He can shoot mid range jumpers so we can have him stretch the defense as a backup to Beidrins.
Obviously we would be looking to draft another PF in the draft. But we could really take the best talent on the board at that point, we would have enough flexibility to make moves and complete our roster.
Our team would look like this for the rest of the year.
Monta/Watson (not CJ)/Demarcus
Jax/Crawford/Belli/Morrow
Azibuike/Randoph
Smith/Turiaf
Beidrins/Kristic
I would keep Demarcus becuase it will do him good to stay up and pratice against Monta and Crawford to toughen him on defense at the NBA level. I see Jax splitting time at the 3 and 2, Crawford at the 1 and the 2, Randolph at the 3 and the 4. This lineup would give us the ability to go small or big. It will give a better backup at center and make it possible to have Turiaf in at PF, where he belongs. Let me know what you guys think. The only downside is that we give up Wright, and the obvious possiblilty of a declined trade from Oklahoma. But if they get Wright I could see them going for it.
